We stayed here for a weekend to surprise my daughter for her engagement and it was everything we wanted and more. We had to stay out of town so we wouldn't run into my daughter until it was time for the Surprise. There is no need to leave this place that has everything to offer. We felt like we were in a different country. We definitely will be back, the golf cart made it extremely easy to get to and from the little town of Catalina. Even though this complex has a lot of stairs, the unit we stayed in is on the street level. We did use the stairs to get to and from the beach and it was great exercise. What an incredible getaway from the city! My family came for a couple nights and had a fantastic time! The golf cart was key to getting around, exploring, and shopping. We enjoyed the condo, the views and the sound of the ocean at night! The pool/hot tub were perfect for our daughter and we had a nice day at the beach club nearby. The condo was beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed to eat in one night as well. Beds were comfortable and fire place kept us warm on a chilly evening. We even brought take out sushi to eat on our last night overlooking the ocean. A+! Amber was super available and easy to reach when I couldn't find our lockbox code, she was helpful when I asked about another unit for the future. I felt very cared for. We WILL be back. read more

I unfortunately had really amazing reviews for this place until today. I have a service animal for my disability and I sent Amber a message in advance informing her that I was going to be accompanied by my service animal for my upcoming stay with my family. She IMMEDIATELY called me and stated that under no circumstances will any animal be allowed in the Hamilton Cove HOA community of Avalon. She then asked for legal documentation proving that my service animal was certified. I explained to her that by law she is not allowed to ask me for service animal paperwork. She then demanded that I show her my legal paperwork and that her Hamilton Cove security team and HOA members need this documentation. She made comments saying "You do realize I am the owner correct?" She was the most hostile host I have ever spoken to or worked with in my 10+ years of being a VRBO customer. I do NOT recommend staying at any of Ambers properties. She is nasty and inconsiderate and discriminatory. I opened a case with VRBO immediately and requested cancellation as I would never give someone like this my hard earned money. Save yourself the trouble. Book anywhere else! read more

Terrible experience -- do not book. We stayed here with two toddlers. The bath tap broke while getting them ready, making the bath unusable. Instead of helping, the owner shut off all water to the property and ignored us for over 15 hours. Then, without discussion, she canceled our reservation by text and told us to leave -- while accusing us of causing the damage, which we absolutely did not. The villa is dark, dusty, and dated -- doesn't match the photos. If anything breaks (even due to age), you'll be blamed and kicked out. Worst hospitality I've ever experienced. Appalling Catalina Dream Vacations Bldg 8 unit 97 Checked on the availability of a Golf Buggy prior to booking and assured that one was available with the apartment (subject to availability, so therefore confirmed one was available) Discussed using buggy on our way including parking spot number. On arrival there was said buggy in the parking space of 97. Unpacked and decided to go into town. There are absolutely no amenities near the house and the walk is steeply uphill on the way. A Golf Buggy is the only reasonable option hence all the condos we looked at provided one. Ours had a flat battery. Called Amber who immediately stated it was not automatically included in the booking and 'subject to availability" I tried to tell her I specifically checked. Also tried to tell her I specifically checked there was a golf cart included BEFORE committing to book and only booked when she said yes. She actually said "how you get round the island is not my problem, get a taxi" I suggested we got a taxi that night and if she could arrange for it to be charged/fixed in the morning. Should be an easy task to jump start. She refused to commit to any solution, or any suggestion on her part My wife pointed out the high cost of the accommodation $2,479 with fees for 4 nights, 1 bedroom place and she then said "I want you to leave". It was 6pm, torrential rain and my wife is recovering from surgery. This fell on deaf ears. The apartment and an unchanged clock guessing it had not been used for a while. Amber said she was under no obligation to provide a Golf Buggy and was not going to repair it. She then went into full lawyer mode quoting terms and conditions. Air bnb helped with a full refund but recommendation is avoid this woman. Then had the fun task to find a hotel on an island coming up for Thanksgiving. read more

We had the absolute most MAGICAL time at our stay on Catalina in Villa 33! The condo was pristine, well appointed and perfectly comfortable for a girls weekend away. I am a frequent traveler and quite frankly I'm a little high maintenance and the condo was stunning, well appointed and the property had a lot of beautiful amenities to include tennis courts, bocce ball, mini golf, sand volleyball, basketball, a children's playground, a beautiful beach with phenomenal snorkeling, a pool, Jacuzzi, gym and more that I'm sure I'm forgetting. We had such a wonderful time. The beds were comfortable, and we loved sleeping with the balcony doors open and listening to the ocean lapping on the beach. The couch was huge and the family room had ample seating for us to be comfortable. The condo had absolutely everything we could ever need there to include beach towels, a cooler, etc. Amber was very communicative and so lovely and easy to work with. We had such a great time we actually ended up extending our stay. I have nothing but positive things to say about or stay and can't wait to return with my family. The golf cart was perfect for us to zip around the island and was super convenient. We went to this Descanso beach club and I highly recommend it. The food was amazing and I honestly felt like I was in a different country. The service was top-tier. All in all our stay was a 10 out of 10 and I can't wait to return! read more

The patio is a wrapped-around patio where one side has the view of the ocean while the other side has the view of the Hamilton Cove hillside houses with the ocean view. Amber is extremely helpful, nice and responding to my messages promptly. The villa 1868 is clean, very spacious, and has all the basic essentials. It is midway therefore, there are quite a few steps to go down. Overall, I highly recommend staying here. read more

The villa was beautifully decorated and mostly comfortable! The microwave does need to be fixed and the Wi-Fi was a bit wonky past two users, but other than that everything was absolutely perfect for celebrating my mom's birthday! The golf cart was a huge plus and we used it often to go into town. Amber was super responsive and very helpful in answering all of my questions pre and post arrival. Catalina Dream Vacations is a premier vacation getaway in the serene Hamilton Cove harbor of Catalina Island. It was so nice to be away from the loud nights in the places we generally stay downtown, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop! I was concerned about traveling from our villa to the town, but our provided golf cart easily took us everywhere we needed to go. When we left we called an island taxi who arrived in minutes. We were provided everything we needed including an ocean-view terrace with tables, umbrellas, barbecue, and Pottery Barn furniture throughout.
