After putting my mead purchase in the vehicle I decided to see what these folks had to offer. When I am in fly over country I like to check out these small town breweries and distilleries to see what they do with the local agriculture output. In Iowa I know they grow LOTS of corn so I would expect to see some places making use of that and turning out some great whiskey. This guy makes some excellent rum AND whiskey in his small area. I sampled each along with a small taste of the bourbon he has coming out. The rum was proly the best I've had outside the South, very smooth. The bourbon will end up being this guy's showpiece, for a 6 yr old it is incredibly smooth. You will likely have better luck purchasing his wares at the distillery rather than a liquor store and quite frankly thats the way ALL craft products should be bought in order to keep the profit with the producer. I walked out with a bottle and a bottle of the barrle aged mustard. Bottom line this is an excellent place to grab a cocktail and pick up some excellent bourbon!

Had our celebration dinner at Cedar Ridge, sat on the patio listening to live music on Sunday, June 28, had a wonderful server. The visit to Cedar Ridge was a great experience, really enjoyed our brick-oven pizzas, flight of wines, peach cobbler dessert and took a bottle of Rose home with us. Highly recommend this winery/distillery, such a great experience and for us a capstone to our trip to Cedar Rapids and Iowa!

Our last visit was spent on the patio of course. We ordered a couple flights, a few drinks, pizza and a charcuterie board. I always enjoy the presentation of their items as well as the effort that goes into it! This time around I tried the sangria and I really enjoyed it. We don't live nearby so I am sad I won't return for another on a hot day, but well worth it!
