NOTE - this is a long post, but if you have jewelry repair needs, please read!…read more My quest started when one of the tiny diamonds fell out of my engagement ring. When this happened a year prior, I took the ring to a major diamond retail store and was quoted $150.00 to replace the tiny diamond, and replace it's setting. I paid the amount and had my ring repaired. The lady asked if I wanted the "coating" replaced - I asked if it was necessary; she told me "no" but sometime in the future I would need it done. Fast forward to last week. Another one of the tiny stones fell out. I took the ring back to the same major retailer. After examining the ring, they told me that ALL of the tiny stones were in jeopardy of falling out - like dominoes. They said that one of the stones in the "halo" part of the ring was also in jeopardy of falling out and they would ALL follow - again like dominoes. They said as part of the repair I would HAVE to re-coat the ring in what I now know is "rhodium." The grand total was $380.00. I left the store in a daze of sticker-shock. I Googled and Yelped a jewelry repair store right around the corner from my house - League City Gold, Diamond, and Fine Jewelry. I met with one of the owners, Cheryl, who examined my ring. I told her what the previous store said HAD to be done to repair my ring. After examining it, Cheryl said she could NOT see what they were talking about, but would run the ring through a machine that will "jiggle" to test for loose diamonds. She said if anything fell out, they would put the stone back and repair its prong. When I asked about the coating, she said that rhodium is REALLY expensive ($25,000 per ounce!) and that is where retail stores like to "upsell" is by recommending the coating. I asked Cheryl what she thought my drive out price would be - she said $125.00!! That included if they had to repair any prongs AND that included re-coating the rhodium. (Cheryl also educated me that there is no such thing as "white gold" - only yellow gold coated in rhodium, which wears off with regular wearing of the jewelry.) I picked the ring up from Cheryl this morning (which was only 2 days repair time). She said they had put the ring in the "jiggle machine" for OVER 2 hours and not one additional stone had fallen out! When I asked my total price she said $67.00 - and that included rhodium coating!!! Folks, if you are looking for an HONEST local jeweler and one that does REASONABLY priced repair work - I would highly recommend League City Gold, Diamond, and Fine Jewelry!! (I have attached a picture of my ring below) If I could give them a dozen stars, I would! Thank you again Cheryl! Lisa & Howard Smith League City, TX

This is an outstanding place for watch repair and battery installation…read more I brought an old Swatch here for a new battery, because I somehow cross-threaded the access point. These guys installed a new battery within minutes. Because they have a great reputation for watch repair, I also left my 30-something-year-old Tag Heuer in their care for a total rebuild. This was a wedding gift, and it is the most prized watch in my collection. The watchmaker here did an excellent job, and even did a pressure test, which is vital -- but not commonly offered with many watch repair services. They offered to replace the band with an in-house version and ultimately a Tag Heuer version, but I declined because I can replace it for a lot less money. I was also hoping they could replace the dial to no avail. Still, these folks know what they are doing, and I plan on giving them plenty of business moving forward.

Robsons, please have your attorney contact me so I can forward them my attorney information who I have informed of this situation and Paul's threats to me. I have all the screen shots and information that I need. Definition of Threat: noun: threat; plural noun: threats 1. a statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action on someone in retribution for something done or not done. I was verbally put down by Robsons' clients for posting my bad experience with Paul the store manager. The ugly comments that were posted by clients and Paul's friends on my review and others who had bad experiences with Paul and the store, shows what kind of character he has and what kind of store it is. Poor Mandy seems to always have to buffer the disasters Paul causes. She is too sweet for that. Here is my experience Jan. 30, 2017. It seems I'm not alone in my feelings after posting my public review. My family has done business with Robsons for years. No issues until now. I went into Robsons to have my husband's watch repaired. I told the lady I was thinking about buying my husband a special watch for V-Day. She brought me to Paul, the store manager, to ask if he had a book for watches. He looked at me and said if I needed a book on watches to go to Barnes and Noble. The lady corrected herself and said I'm sorry a catalog to look through for a watch. He told her that's not what she said. She apologized again to him. He told me that they didn't have a catalog on books but they had some watches on display. I told him I looked and I didn't see one I was looking for, I was looking for a mechanical style watch. He corrected me at some point and said they are called automatic watches. He began to tell me how you can't just go out a buy a watch. It takes time and thought. He compared it to purses. Going into a Louis Vuitton store as opposed to a Macy's. It's not the best decision. I said "like the watch I have in my hand? The one I bought at a Macy's for my husband a few years ago?!" He gave a face and said he wouldn't have bought it. I felt so degraded! He went on about his opinion of good brands. He pulled up Bulova on the touch screen and added a remark telling me I could do this on my own; Like I was wasting his time! I picked out one that I thought would be nice and asked if I had it sent there could I have it engraved. He looked at me and laughed! Asked me where would you put an engraving?! I was so embarrassed. I called my husband crying. I was so upset! I called Robsons and left a voicemail that I wanted to speak to a manager about my experience with Paul. I spoke to Mandy 2 days later after they called about what it would cost to repair my husbands "Macy's" watch. I was upset because they hadn't called me back and expressed this to her. She was concerned. Told me she was going to bring it up to Paul. He would call and apologize later. Paul called me that night. Instead of starting off by apologizing he started off telling me how he watched all the footage and spoke to other employees to see where he went wrong and doesn't see how I would be offended! I asked him, "are you calling me a liar? That I am mistaken on my feelings and how you made me feel?!" He laughed and said well I can tell you are going to be negative. I told him well since he knew how I should feel after all of the above situations why wouldn't I be negative? He laughed and told me I am sorry that you were offended! I told him how could he apologize when he was laughing! He said well I just don't understand how you could be upset and laughed more! He used the word hunny way too much and it felt degrading; not sincere. I told him to not call me that and he'd laugh more! He told me that I am no longer allowed in "HIS" store! You couldn't pay me to go in there again! Thank you Mandy for taking the time and apologizing for him, something he obviously couldn't do for himself!
