Recently moved to the valley area and needed to look for a new vet after 8 years of being with the VCA. Boy am I glad to have found Castle Peak Vet! Dr. Denny Simonton saw both of my pups and he was absolutely incredible- thoughtful of each dog's personality, explained each part of his examination, recommended healthy lifestyles, and answered all of our questions about heartworm prevention, ticks, etc. In contrast to Dr. Simonton and his staff, our prior VCA vets felt robotic, uninterested, and not to mention MUCH more expensive. Without a doubt I would recommend any of my pet friends to Dr. Simonton and Castle Peak. Their warm welcome, attention to detail and reasonable prices are second to none! read more

They board dogs here, and from 7am-7pm the employees just let the dogs incessantly bark. To combat the barking; they spray the dogs with water, but most of the time the employees are too busy on their phones or vaping to pay attention to the dogs. It's just honestly really sad to see, and makes me nervous about boarding my dogs at any veterinarian office. read more

Pricey experience. With little common sense approach suggestions for those less fortunate therefore unable to jump into a $300+ invoice.

This was my first experience with Castle Peak Veterinary Service. I have a dog myself who is my world and have always taken him to Eaglevet and couldn't trust them more. I'm hesitant to say anything but as a pet owner who views dogs as part of our families I would never leave him here. I am dog sitting for two sweet girls whom I've looked after for years and there was a stint of five days that their owner had me board them at Castle Peak in Eagle. Things seemed a little bit unorganized when I dropped the girls off which I thought was strange because their owner is very well organized and one of the dogs has a pretty serious health condition which I am sure was discussed when making the arrangements to have them stay there. The front office staff had no idea what I was taking about when I mentioned that she (one of the dogs) may need accommodations, and the woman that took her back to the kennel was short with me while I was trying to explain the situation and rough with the other dog who was visibly nervous about being there to the point that I asked if she would like me to pick her up and carry her back with her, she declined but I was glad to see that she picked her up on her own. Upon returning one of the dogs had an abrasion above her nose and the only reason that it was mentioned to me was because I asked several questions. At the time I was told that it was from knocking her food bowl over. I was assured that the vet had taken a look at it and that the owners would be contacted. They were not. When I called to inquire about why this has not happened a few days later, and the manner in which the conversation was handled did not leave me confident that the owners would be contacted yet again. Additionally the description of how the abrasion took place was completely different than what was explained to me when I picked the girls up. I understand that this was not a serious injury, but when you work with pets or children if an injury occurs ESPECIALLY if the results are visible the parent or owner should be made aware that it has happened, when it has happened not several days later after being asked to do so several times. The situation and how it was handled on three counts is enough for me to not trust leaving animals that I care for at this facility again. read more

Absolutely wonderful staff & vet tech! We have 2 large dogs & took us awhile to find this vet when we moved from Denver. They are always helpful, accommodating & do their best to squeeze in anytime there is a concern or issue. Right now they are very understaffed, and even with such a tight schedule we were able to get a last minute appt to have the big girls ear checked - she'd gotten something in there Can't recommend this place enough! Thank you Castle Peak for loving our dogs as much as we do! read more

This place is full of wonderful, caring people. My dog tore her leg open on a Saturday and needed urgent care. Castle Peak found a way to see her (everyone else was either unavailable or not open) and they fixed her up right away! I was expecting an outrageous vet bill but instead received a realistic and affordable one. THANK YOU all. read more

I have been a client for over 20 years, numerous pets with CPVS and have always been satisfied with their professionalism, their compassion and follow through when I had a very, very sick dog. I highly recommend. read more

Castle Peak is fine for vaccines but that's about it. They charge insane amounts compared to other areas in the valley and lack customer service skills even for the vaccines. My bigger issue with them is their refusal to hear the pet-owner's concerns when things go wrong. My dog, Prancer, started acting weird the middle of November 2017. I took him in and they said not to worry too much about it. They prescribed some pain meds and said he probably pulled a muscle. Three days later he vomited, collapsed, and became unresponsive so I took him in a dropped him off. Two hours later they said he acted fine under their care and sent me home with lot of steroid medication. Around four days passed and he seemed to be tired, but otherwise okay. Then he started wobbling around again so I called and they said to just keep on giving him the steroid. So I did. I want to interject here that I worked at a vet clinic in Fort Collins for almost a year but typically resist the temptation of looking up my dog's symptoms because the vet never listens anyway (the same dog had had a hematoma months previously and they wouldn't listen to that). I listened to their advice, paid almost $800, and Prancer seemed to get worse and worse. Finally, I looked it up: he was having seizures. I called and talked to his doctor about it, but she waved off. She said maybe he had some focal seizures but I really needed to see a neurologist to confirm he had epilepsy. Finally I took Prancer to Mountain Mobile Animal Hospital. Within 10 minutes of listening to me they diagnosed him with routine, unexplained seizing, or epilepsy. We left him with them for a while and they witnessed a full seizure. Before they could prescribe him an anti-convulsing med, however, he needed to be weaned off the prednisone from Castle Peak. We took Prancer home for his last day on this planet. That night, before Prancer passed away, I finally sat down and did my research. Prancer should have been diagnosed with seizures the first time I brought him in. He should never have been put on prednisone. The symptoms I described to the vet were typical of epilepsy, but she wouldn't listen to my account of what happened at home. I fully place the responsibility of the time and manner of Prancer's death on Castle Peak. I lost my best friend that Saturday night at only one and a half years old. My family last a valuable member at least a year too early (dogs with epilepsy live an average of two years after diagnosis). If they had listened or consulted a veterinarian anthology then by baby would have been able to live a happier last few moments. I want to point out that I have waited almost four months to write this review so that it wouldn't be emotionally charged, so please, head my warning. Avoid this practice for serious issues. read more

I had been to several veterinarians in the valley only because I had yet to find a veterinarian whom I could talk to about my concerns, and one that was reasonably priced. I felt so helpless that I seemed to be unable to find someone in the valley I could trust with my dogs. I had worked at a veterinary clinic in another state while I was in school, and I had also had a veterinarian back home who I LOVED. So it was proving to be difficult. The last clinic I went to, never even sent me a sympathy card after they euthanized my other dog. I was NOT impressed! When I finally brought my dog into see Dr. Kim Foster at Castle Peak, I was very impressed by how kind and sensitive she was to what my dog was going through and she was also sensitive to what my concerns were. I was so happy to be able to find a veterinarian I could relate to! I 100% recommend Dr. Foster to anyone searching kind and compassionate care. It's also important for me to note that I loved their staff! Everyone from the front desk staff to the techs who helped me in the exam room were excellent and very professional. I have been to vet clinics where the front desk staff are rude and overbearing! This is not the case at Castle Peak! read more

Absolutely terrible bedside manner. They will not listen to you when you are expressing concerns or want more then one option of treatment. It's almost like the vets decide what needs to happen and that's that, no matter how strongly you feel it's wrong. The services they perform aren't bad in quality but you need your vet to listen to your concerns. We are with our pets more then the vet. We see their behaviors and we know when something isn't right. I will not be bringing my pets back. read more

I want to recommend Castle Peak Veterinary Service. My dog is 19 1/2 years old and they took on cleaning her teeth. they checked every inch of Mitzey, explained everything, and I understood all the pros and cons. MY dog's teeth are now white pearls and her mouth is healthy again. they follow through and....their price was reasonable! In 2001 my dog jumped out of a car and Castle Peak put her back together beautifully. Drs Simington and Ault are magnificent as are the techs and the front desk! I wish them the best. the best is what they give. read more

This business deserves no stars. HORRIBLE customer service. They rolled their eyes at me when i told them my pet was vaccinated eksewhere and needed to look it up prior to them accepted him for boarding. They did not do this process correctly and instead without my consent did the vaccines themselves and i ended up paying over $300 for two days of boarding. When i explained the situation to the manager she argued with me and said it was uo to the owners to refund me, are you kidding me? Aside from that my dog was shaking when i picked him up and had urine and feces on him. DO NOT GO HERE EVER unless you want to deal with unprofessional adults who neglect your pet, then by all means this is the place for you. read more

Thank you castle peak for being so accommodating! I had a routine vaccine appointment for my older dog, but this morning my younger dog starting showing signs of kennel cough. They were able to see the younger dog during my original appointment and did diagnose him with kennel cough. I appreciate that as a new patient, they saw both of my dogs and it was affordable. read more

The absolute worst service I have ever had was with Dr S. Conklin. His demeanor is cold and he was rude, and condensending. Took my dog in over four times in last month, did two sets of blood work and never diagonised with what killed hi. Took my poor baby in Thursday and all he did was way over prescribed pills, which did more harm the. Good. Today he was the emergency on call, called him twice, was NO HELP, told me he was going to a meeting. My dog later died, wow what a horrible person and should not be able to practice medicine. read more

Awesome veterinary clinic! Everyone was so helpful and polite. All of my concerns were put to rest, without feeling like I was being charged and arm and a leg. They also have emergency services, so if I ever need them at 3am, they are here to help! I will definately be going back! read more

They take a very personal, sincere and absolutely caring attitude with all of our pets. The care they provide is the best in the valley.
