AVOID! tl;dr - They will respond very quickly to secure business but then flake out on carrying out the job. I would caution anyone that using this company is a big risk. They are completely unreliable. The Details: Sent a text message to their 'hotline' to request a quote for transporting an arcade machine. Was immediately sent a response with a price and saying that it would be 'white glove' service. They said that Friday evening was likely available, and I said that I would let them know by 3pm. At 3pm I confirmed that I wanted the arcade machine transported and followed up a few times, but never heard back that day. The next day I asked if they were still available for the weekend or Monday. They replied immediately and said weekend was no good but Monday would work. We agreed on 3pm and they replied that sounded good and they would meet me at 3pm at the pickup location. On Monday morning I messaged them to confirm that we were still on for 3pm. No response. I followed up a couple times and assuming maybe they were too busy with other deliveries, informed them that I would still be showing up at 3pm as we had discussed. They never showed, never messaged - nothing. I wasted several hours driving and a 30 second text from them could have avoided that. I messaged them stating that a simple text letting me know they had to cancel and I would have had no issue. And they ignored that as well. Blows my mind that a company has such little regard for customer service. AVOID! read more

You get what you pay for...Castle Party Rentals showed up to our wedding with DIRTY white lawn chairs that my venue had to wipe down themselves. We asked to get a refund and they denied us and did not care that for our WEDDING they delivered dirty chairs. They also called me, the bride, and the groom on our wedding day instead of our planner about delivery. Be sure to read all of the fine print on the contract because they more than likely will deliver your items on the curb, which is what they told me even though the reception was on the first floor and steps away. We thought it was implied that when a company delivers items, they deliver them INSIDE the venue instead of outdoors. I definitely will not recommend them to anyone and they will also loose a corporate account. UPDATE TO OWNER COMMENT: Do you REALLY want to work with someone who responds like this. I rented out a couple arcade games for a corporate event. This was my first time renting equipment for my company and Dan did a great job. The day of the event, everything was set up right on time and it was a success. I just wish there were more employees to help with the clean up process. Overall, I would highly recommend and will be using them again. read more

We contracted Castle to provide tables, linens, chairs, tents, and a dance floor for a party with 150 people in a historic building that had lots of restrictions. All of the items were delivered on time and in great condition. They were flexible and worked with us to schedule the delivery within our venue's somewhat restricted hours. We needed to get everything out by 9:00 the next morning, and the truck arrived promptly at 7:30 and had everything cleared out on time. The only general downside to Castle is that they charge a 5% service charge for all credit card transactions. You can always pay with cash or a cashier's check to avoid the fee. We had a slight miscommunication where a request for an increase in napkins was communicated over the phone, and it didn't make it into the order. Bottom line: email communication is always best for confirming details, because then you have a paper trail. This was really minor, though, compared to the size of the event and everything else that went smoothly. Castle came through, and we'd definitely use them again! read more

I worked with Dan from Castle Party rentals for a dealer and craps table for my mother's Retirement Party on Halloween. I have nothing but accommodations for him and his crew. The table was delivered on time, and, although the weather was horrible, the dealer arrived prior to the event. He was very attentive to the guests and helped a lot of them understand the game. Using Castle Party rental was a disaster. They did not deliver on what they promised. My photo booth looked cheap and it was falling apart. I could not even see the logos i designed on my photos. VERY AGGRESSIVE, BE CAREFUL! They are getting 2 stars because they delivered the other items as they said for my sons 10th birthday obstacle course party. The item I had dispute with ($400 for 8 obstacle course sized hay bales) turned out to be the small $12 ones from home depot and were too small for an obstacle course. They were a total and expensive waste. When I called them immediately upon delivery they said they couldn't do anything. Then afterwards I asked for a discount/compensation on the haybales, he (Dan the owner) was incredibly aggressive and threatened me with his lawyer!! What?! My request to not pay for it or get a discount was all standard business practice. He refused to do anything about it except sic his lawyer on me, forget bad customer service, this guy is borderline scary. BE CAREFUL. read more

We rented 4 casino tables for my wife's 40th birthday. Dan helped me put together an awesome party within my budget and answered all of my questions. His entire staff was absolutely outstanding! They arrived early, set up their tables and started right on time. They were friendly and very professional. I had so many guests tell me how much they enjoyed playing with the Castle Party dealers. Even the delivery and pick-up crew was great. They arrived within the window I provided Dan, and made sure I had everything I ordered. The tables were brought and set up exactly where I wanted. So my first review was flagged--so, I will attempt to explain my terrible experience with Castle Party Rental. I rented several items from here. The space I was hosting this party at had a difficult entry way--I had 2 people help their delivery people carry all items up these stairs. Everything was fine. I had spoke with both workers upon delivery that I needed the furniture out by noon the next day. They said okay. Noon the next day rolls around and there is NO sign of Castle Party Rental to pick up their stuff. To save the time of this dreadful story--I called several times being told they were on there way, then they couldn't pick up until next day and excuse after excuse. The woman there was shouting at the top of her lungs at me, blaming me! Not pleasant at all. They eventually had the items gone by 6pm the next day--the space was scheduled to have a gallery opening at 6.30pm--thus the gallery opening was pushed back because of their inconsideration. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. Everything from the lack of customer service to the unprofessional attitude we received the from the delivery and setup "professionals". Late on arrival, lack of equipment, and rental equipment which did no operate properly. Our organization will never use the services of Castle Party Rental again. We organized a community sporting event and as a non-profit organization we expect that the money raised by donations and fundraising to go to good use, not on broken down and poorly maintained equipment. Thankfully nobody was injured when the single generator powering the kids inflatables mysteriously stopped working and collapsed. I wish I could select 0 stars for this rating. read more

However, when I called, the woman told me my date was "not good" because they had several large events that day and it was too far for staff to drive. Our house is clearly listed in their delivery area on the site. I was told I needed to look for something closer to my house - but was not given any suggestions or an apology. I figured since I have worked with them previously and have liked their services in the past that I wanted the same prices and service with them. I went with the other business and loved their information, customer service and policies. Everything went wonderfully. For inflatables, I hope to work with the other company for the future. Castle Party Rentals does have a large selection for parties but have to improve their policies and guarantees. No military discount offered here. read more

Unprofessional and unreliable . We thought we'd look into using a few new vendors for our company picnic and Castle seemed like a good company. We told them the date we needed them and they said they were available. Started the paperwork with our purchasing department and a couple of weeks later they are magically no longer available and now we have to find a company to replace the items we lost. We do this picnic every year and thought we found a great new vendor. Unfortunately, we won't be able to try them again. read more

I just hosted a big 10 birthday party for our son and about 50 kids. I rented the monster basketball, an electronic basketball pop a shot and a pair of balloon blasters, a hot dog steamer and tables/chairs. I was skeptical about engaging castle party because of some of the yelp reviews . But they were affordable, responsive and provided same day pick up. We were extremely pleased. The venue for the party only allowed access for 1 hour before the party so it was imperative for Castle Party Rental to arrive on time. They were precisely on time, and setting up when I arrived. The equipment was clean and worked perfectly. They explained how everything worked. They came back the same night .... it was a perfect job and a great party. We will be using them this summer for our 2 year olds party. Dan was also very helpful in heping us figure out which games the kids would like. read more

I find it odd that so many bad reviews have been removed as I had an unpleasant experience as well. I contacted Dan on June 6th for an event that is tomorrow the 26th. He confirmed the unit we were inquiring about was available those dates and gave us pricing. We were relying on him to provide the machine, but come this weekend I have not been able to reach him. We did hit a snag that he couldn't do our pick up time (even though he knew far in advance that was the end date for our rental), but I told him Monday was fine and he didn't mention that would be a problem. I wish he had told us in advance that he couldn't do a Saturday pick up, and at least have responded if for some reason the Monday pick up didn't work- but I just got no word. So I've spent the past two days scrambling to find another vendor. I finally found one that has been incredibly responsive and professional. Everything mentioned in this review is a fact. I just wish that he had told me they couldn't do it sooner so I wouldn't have been put in a jam. read more

Our Company used Castle Party Rentals for an event yesterday. When I ordered I let them know that I wanted Donkey Kong and Pac-Man as well as the $95 foosball table. Dan at Castle Rental tried to up sell me to the $250 foosball table. I let him know that we were good with the cheaper one. When I got the contract he added the $250 table. This was all on the same day. When I called back he let me know they didn't have the other table. I found that hard to believe that in a 3 or 4 hour span they no longer had the cheaper table. I tried to get some money off since they told me when I call that they had that one in stock. So we ended up not getting a table at all. They lost out on money because they didn't want to help their customer out. They also claim they have the best price for items but the pick up and delivery fee is way to high. After all this happen I still went with them to rent the games. The delivery drivers were great and did a great job. When we go the games we got one Donkey Kong game and one Pac-Man game which is what I wanted. What they kept from me is that the Pac-Man game also had Donkey Kong on it, which means I only needed the one game. When I ordered from Dan he never told me that. So now he can charge me for 2 games instead of one. When I asked him about it he had excuse after excuse on why they didn't tell me that. He also told me that I should be happy because they upgraded me to a game that had multiple games on it. I had a bad experience ordering with Dan but still gave them a shot and that back fired. Working for a bigger company we could have spent a lot of money with them on all our events, but I will never rent from them again. This is a follow up from Dan's reply. Dan, Dan Dan, Look at you once again having to talk yourself out of a bad review by changing the story to make you look better. if you were always right you wouldn't feel the need to lie to make you feel better. The first time we spoke I let you know I wanted donkey kong and Pac-Man. You never once told me you had both games in one. You just saw a way for you to make more money. If the $95 table is for kids you better update your photo on your site. That table looks better then the $250 table. On the phone you never told me the 95 table was rented. You also never called me back to let me know and ask if I would want the $250 table. You just added it to my Quote. I also never asked for the $250 table for 95. I was just looking for you to make it right since you never told me the table was rented and just adding higher priced table on my quote. I'm sure you have a lot of people you take advantage of because they don't read their quotes. As far as the games go you told me you don't know what you have in stock, (which I find hard to believe) so you didn't know I was going to get the multi game. If you didn't know I was going to get that game how can you play off like you were doing me a favor and upgrading me. It was more like a punch in the face. You have to know what you have in stock at all times otherwise you wouldn't be open for long. So you had to know you had the multi game when I order you just wanted to make more money. I have been part of Customer Service for a very long time and I wasn't looking for anything free. I just don't like being taken advantage of. BTW If we sold phones which we don't you would have to buy them from your carrier not directly from Motorola, so it would be up to your carrier what they wanted to sell the phone at, not Motorola. I hired Castle, and while I was happy with what they provided, they took credit for my party planner's (Terry from Rose Garden Design/708-672-6980) ideas and put the pictures of his Winter Wonderland concept on their website and tried to pass them off as their own ideas - which they weren't. The entire event was Terry's ideas (he is AMAZING!!!). He only rented a few acrylic chairs from Castle and Castle is trying to take credit for the incredible Winter Wonderland event. Castle has been asked to remove the pictures (or give credit where it's really due) and they won't (they won't even return our phone calls), so my ratings reflect this unprofessional behavior. Although they did a good job with the chairs I rented, I would never ever rent from them again. read more

Don't believe that Dan is always busy working on HUGE events. Mom Sandy is answering the phone and making up lies and excuses. They don't have the capablility of following through on contracts and delivery. DON'T SIGN THE CONTRACT. If I could give this company zero stars I would! We rented items for a trade show in November and received half of two glass display cases (from Ikea!), dropped on the show floor and left un-assembled. We attempted to call and text Dan several times starting at 2pm and didn't get a response until almost 7pm - when we were asked to arrange for our own staff to go back to the venue and wait an hour for their driver to show up with the missing pieces. The show was scheduled to open at 8am the next morning! Long story short - we had to scramble and rent tables from another vendor because Castle completely failed to provide the rented equipment and service promised. However, the worst part of all is their behavior after this incident. We received no apology and were met with demands for full payment and legal threats after disputing this charge with our credit card company. The staff at Castle is rude, unapologetic and unprofessional. I strongly recommend finding another company if you expect good quality, service, and delivery of items as promised! read more
