From friends, I'd heard about this venue in Elgin before but never had a chance to visit until I attended a wedding here recently. Now after attending, I can say that this spot really exceeded expectations. One of the best things about this spot was having a large variety of different areas for guests to spread out and socialize. This led to a much more relaxed atmosphere for talking than most weddings that I've attended (I'm not huge into dancing). Even throughout the afternoon and evening, it was very nice to be able to enjoy appetizers on the beautiful rooftop deck, enjoy music and dancing on the dance floor, while still being able to carry on a conversation in the large main dining room -- or head downstairs to lounge around to avoid the crowds and noise. As I attended for a family wedding, I was also able to utilize the generously sized suites that had more than enough room for everyone to bring items they needed and have space to get ready for the event. The Haight has done the look of a rustic venue better than most places that I've seen. One thing that I really appreciated is that the look is rustic, but the facilities themselves are in great shape and modern. There were also plenty of great photo spots all around the venue that were lit nicely and contributed to guests having plenty of photo opportunities that they could create on their own. For those who were looking to rest, I did enjoy having sofas and softer cushioned chairs available to relax in. Overall, excellent venue that I would love to attend another wedding in the future. I don't know where to begin, but the main thing is: The Haight made my wedding magical and truly like a real fairytale! There truly is nowhere else that will give the same experience or the same level of service from Kari Haight or her assembled team of fairy god mothers. I'm tearing up thinking about it. From the start, Kari decorated the entrance lobby with photos of us and our families, and it was just such a thoughtful and special touch. The outdoor aisle and rooftop deck is unreal, and if you're getting married in fair weather it's SO pretty with the lights. The reception area- WOW. The vintage lights and hanging greens were gorgeous. They set up everything so perfectly that I felt like I was on a movie set. The dance zone is also a great spot by the bar and they keep the rooftop open so you can take breather and fresh air after dancing. I'm telling you, this place has everything you'd want for your wedding day! Finally-Kari has a great team, she and her staff and vendors not only give top of the line service and coordination, but they were so kind and took attention to every detail. So I'd definitely suggest going with her preferred vendors, they know what they're doing and then some. Also-I had a veil emergency and Kari raced to the rescue by providing me with one the day of! The Haight will always have a special place in my heart. This is where my brother and new sister-in-law held their reception after their wedding. The Haight is a great place to hold a special event. My brother and our family were able to use the "sprinkler room" to get ready for the wedding. My sister-in-law and here bridesmaids were able to use the much more spacious bridal suite on the second floor. On the first floor is a great gathering area with several locations where you can take pictures. On the second floor is the main dining room, dance floor, and patio. We used the patio to take pictures and for the cocktail hour. The main dining room had enough room for the guests and room for toasts. The DJ and dance floor area had enough space for a photo booth, guest book, and ice cream cart. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There is parking available in the municipal parking lot next to The Haight and kitty-corner in the parking garage. The wedding reception was a success thanks to The Haight! I would not hesitate to hold another event here. I highly recommend The Haight for all of your event needs! read more

Great venue! Rustic enough but also accommodating for persons with different abilities that struggle with stairs. We attended a wedding at The Haight. Ceremony was outside on the rooftop and lovely. After the ceremony, cocktails were served in the outdoor rooftop bar. The dining room was large. Tables weren't overwhelming sizes so we could actually talk to other guests. Food was good! Dancing was in yet another space adjacent to the dining room. Can't say enough about the chair lifts for those that can't do stairs! It's a cool place and not at all pretentious. Parking lot is limited but lots of street parking nearby. read more

The Haight was the second we visited and as soon as we walked through the front door we knew this was the spot we'd say, "I do." I cannot recommend this place enough. If I could give 0/5 stars, I would. I truly never give bad reviews (can search through my Google Reviews), but we had the most horrific experience with The Haight and do not want anyone else to experience this. The Haight breached basic confidentiality and disclosed financial amounts, vendor information, and expected guest count without my consent to someone that was not on the event contract. They have refused to apologize for their actions and take accountability for it. After canceling with The Haight, they continued to break confidentiality by obtaining information from a vendor when I had a password-protected agreement with that vendor after I had specifically stated I had confidentiality issues with The Haight. The Haight tried to offer options that did not resolve the situation in the slightest and lied about an offering they "gave me" which they never did. I had to cancel with The Haight because I could not trust that they would hold any of my information as confidential and they would not refund my deposits nor apologize for their actions. Truly such bad business and I would never recommend anyone to them. They ruined our wedding experience. Tried to ask for direct contact with the owner and they did not connect with us nor apologize for this experience. Please beware! read more

The Haight is such an outstanding, beautiful wedding venue. Warm, modern, and incredible for pictures. I love all the different areas - lower level for a great first impression and cocktail hour, rooftop for ceremony & pictures at sundown, and main level for reception, dinner, entertainment, etc. The space worked beautifully. Everyone commented on what a great venue it was. I worked with Brett for the initial tour & contract and worked with Melissa for the heavy logistics and she was our day-of wedding coordinator. From the moment I walked into the venue I just new this was the perfect spot for our wedding reception. During the process Eddie & I worked with Briana & Nicole and both ladies were AMAZING! They helped us keep things organized and made sure the day of the wedding that things ran smoothly. They were so accommodating and even let us pop over to show Eddie's mom the venue space who came in from Florida a couple months before the wedding to help with plans for a weekend. Anytime I had a question they were quick to respond and offered great tips on things. They recommended our DJ & Dueling Pianos act Felix and Fingers who were awesome & Danny's Pizza for our late night snack to be served. Both vendors were awesome additions. We did the deluxe candle decorating package The Haight offered and it really made the room look magical. Nicole helped me with placement of some of the decorations the day of and anytime Eddie & I had a question she was quick to offer a solution for us. We had our wedding booked at The Haight for literally 2.5 years because of Covid. That entire time The Haight team continued to check in and keep us updated. This place is ran like a well oiled machine. All their staff knows exactly what theyre doing. Brett was an incredible wedding coordinator. I think I sent him over 500 emails the past few months and he was so pleasant the entire time. So patient and helpful. The venue itself is just a stunner. It is gorgeous and unique. You can dress it up as much or as little as you want, and it will still be beautiful! The deck outside is hands down the best outdoor space you can ask for and the sun sets right over it which makes for gorgeous pictures!! The Haight is a beautiful venue, with a spacious layout. Despite the very open space, it has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. And then there's that rooftop deck! But perhaps the best thing that The Haight has to offer is an incredible staff. I am a wedding officiant who has performed ceremonies at this venue and it is one of my favorites. Everyone is extremely professional, but also caring. They take good care of their clients and do everything within their power to ensure that every event runs smoothly. Was so excited to have our wedding at The Haight, upon booking we were working with Brianna which was absolutely wonderful. Once she left it all went down hill from there. Our wedding was scheduling for August 21 2021, we booked The Haight in 2019. Of course COVID hit & businesses were greatly impacted. We still made sure to make our payments on time, we understood how difficult this was for businesses. We were hopeful for August. Once things got closer we met with the venue to begin to finalize some details. We soon realized that it might be better to reschedule for 2022 as The Haight suggested we did our wedding in waves. We were expecting 150 guests and they suggested we do 50 at a time, so 50 come for a bit then leave and then the next few come. It was very strange. We then received an email that if we would like to do 2022 we could do Tuesday - Thursday. Being business owners ourselves that was just not possible and we felt very hurt by the management responses. With our wedding date approaching in less then 5 months we were starting to get worried. We wanted to discuss with the owners. They called us during our business hours and stated that they have children and after 3 pm doesn't work for them. Also very shocking as I could never imagine telling my customers something like that. Email communication was getting us nowhere as we were not given many options that made us feel confident spending the amount of money the venue charges for the suggestions given to us. In further communication, without giving us good options they then made it seem like we were defaulting on our payments and terminated our contract. We lost 6k, initial deposit we understand not to be refundable but a bar package that had not been purchased as well as additional payments towards the venue where services were never received.. I've never heard of such a thing. At the end it was a blessing in disguise as I could see they have a lot of work to do in the customer service department and would never wish this nightmare on any couple planning their special day. From the minute we stepped foot into the Haight, my husband and I knew we wanted to get married there. It was built in the late 1800s (same time period as our apartment) and it immediately felt warm and homey. The space is full of vintage beauty with hard wood floors and exposed brick throughout the venue. It required minimal decoration. Our family and friends raved about how beautiful the space was. Additionally the staff at the Haight was so supportive and responsive throughout our engagement. They gave us a folder of recommended vendors which helped us book our dream team without a wedding planner. On the day of my wedding, I had nothing to worry about because our event coordinator Lauren took care of everything. When we had issues with hotel transportation, Lauren handled it discretely and I hardly knew it was an issue. We felt taken care of and we were able to focus on enjoying our wedding day. I am eternally grateful for Lauren and the entire Haight staff for creating the wedding of our dreams. read more

My wife and I held our wedding reception at The Haight and couldn't have been more thrilled. The venue is an absolute gem for the Northwest suburbs. After looking at literally dozens of potential venues, we instantly fell in love with this place. The management company was super easy to work with and very flexible to accommodate our needs. The venue has two stories which allowed us to hold cocktail hour on the main floor and then later move the guests upstairs for dinner and dancing. The building was constructed in the early 1900's and has been well maintained over the years. The Haight family who owns the building has eloquently updated the structure where needed and made it the PERFECT place for a wedding reception. The venue can be used for other private events. We had about 180 guests and could have comfortably added a few more tables. This is one of the newest venues in the Northwest Suburbs which is probably not as well known as more established places. I highly, highly recommend checking this place out if you are looking for an event space. read more

I had my wedding here last weekend on Saturday and OMG THE HAIGHT IS THE BEST!!!!!!!! Lauren and Nicole were so on top of everything not only the day of the wedding but for months leading up as well, and I can actually say that EVERYTHING about my wedding was perfect. The venue is gorgeous and the staff is incredibly helpful and thoughtful. I am so thankful for the haight's generosity in allowing my family to come together in such a wonderful place to celebrate my marriage. I wish I could do it again every weekend! I attended a wedding at this venue last weekend and had a wonderful time. It has such a unique, nontraditional style which I loved! Exposed brick walls, wood beams, modern sculptures and a very efficient use of space! Low lighting and gorgeous decorations seemed like they came right out of Pinterest dream. The staff was extremely warm and friendly and everything went very smoothly, from the ceremony and and cocktail hour to the dinner and reception. What a cool place! The rustic, industrial look made for an awesome setting for my buddy's wedding. The staff was great! Making sure everyone was well taken care of and operating smoothly in the background. Parking can be a little tricky if people aren't aware of the public garage nearby, so make sure your party plans for that in advance, but that's Elgin's problem, not The Haight's. While attending a wedding this past weekend, an elderly couple was escorted out very very rudely! The woman had to use the restroom, because she was so upset, she became ill. The staff harassed her while her food she just ate was flying out in the bathroom! The couple was not doing anything to warrant being asked to leave. Whatever the issue was had nothing to do with them but the staff refused to listen. I've never seen such rudeness in my life! read more

First of all, it's FREEZING inside. Seriously warmer outside at about 65 degrees. Second, women, be warned. Leave your pretty heels at home unless they have a very wide heel. The wood plank flooring is uneven and the edges don't meet up, so heels get caught between the cracks. This is throughout the entire venue including the dance floor. $100 pair of shoes totally ruined and had to leave event 2 hours early because the heels were ripped off and I could not walk in them. read more

My friends beautiful wedding would have been even better had I been able to hear what was being said during the ceremony and reception. Multiple sound issues throughout the evening made it quite frustrating. Also, lets talk about your seating. Your seats look very nice, trendy and go well with the overall vibe of the venue...but wow. They HURT! The seats were placed so close together that everyone was quite uncomfortable, and the seats themselves clearly were never tested before being manufactured, let alone before you purchased them so that hundreds of people could sit on them for an hour at a wedding service and then again at the reception. It was not only my spouse and myself whom were uncomfortable, many many others were commenting on the discomfort and downright pain they were suffering. We just had our wedding at the Haight and it was magical! We live in L.A. and it was my dad and step-mom who discovered the Haight by a referral. They went over with their cameras and list of my questions and Briana was great, answering every possible inquiry I had. After seeing the pictures and hearing back from them, my now-husband and I knew we wanted to book them. Not only were they within our budget (which wasn't too big), but they were a unique space that didn't feel cookie-cutter or pretentious. They worked with us so that the few times we were in town we could schedule our meetings and walk-throughs, and they were knowledgeable about what their space would require as far as what the DJ would need, which drink caterer we needed to use, and where we could utilize their space for pictures or the cocktail hour, etc. And the day of, Lauren was fantastic keeping everything running smoothly and on time. Our wedding was this past weekend (5.14.16), and it looked even more beautiful than I imagined it would be. My husband and I received so many compliments for finding such a unique venue. The Haight is beautiful as is, but we were also allowed to bring in our own decorations and customize the space. The day of the wedding, I walked into the Haight and almost wanted to cry because Leanne did such an amazing job setting up all of our decorations. The entire day/night she kept us on track, took care of the wedding party, and our parents. She knew exactly what was supposed to be happening at every moment. It really helped to have her present from the very beginning to the very end, because it was so easy to get caught up in conversation. If it weren't for her, we probably would have missed some of our main events that night, or we would have been so behind on our timeframe. Leanne also helped us work in the 12 vendors that we booked to help out with the wedding. She contacted every single one to make sure everyone was on the same page for the night, and took care of them all the day of. She really went above and beyond what we both expected! My husband and I had our wedding at The Haight on 8/24/2019 and we are over the moon at how amazing and smooth everything went! Nicole our coordinator and her team were amazing and worked so well with our planner to make sure our day was perfect! From the beautiful bridal suite to the amazing decor and aesthetic that needed very little to be added and the new outside patio addition (almost complete!), my guests could not stop raving about the venue. It was the first and only venue we visited and could not have imagined our big day anywhere else! The Haight is a hidden gem in the Chicago suburbs. My husband and I were looking for a unique loft-type venue and were trying to avoid the hassle of being downtown. The second we stepped inside the Haight we knew it was something special and when we got upstairs, we knew for sure this was the venue for us. The furnishings are so interesting and make it a space unlike any other. Everyone was very easy to work with and everything went smoothly on our wedding day. We had our daughter's wedding at this venue. Everything was going great and we had a good time. I would say that if you decide to use this venue you should do a few things to protect yourself and your guests. Decide if your guests are able to handle the stairs because the elevator is EXTREMELY slow. Keep in mind that most ladies will be wearing heels. Second, the floor used for dancing has holes and your heels can get stuck in them and you can trip easily. The last thing is to check for anything that might be broken before and after the event as we were told that a handicapped toilet was cracked during our event, but the picture that was sent to us had no date or time stamp on it. They then charged us $1500 for this toilet as we had our event on a Friday and they had to have a new one installed (as and emergency) before the wedding on Saturday evening. You might want to take out damage insurance to cover your event. read more

No means to get it reheated. Bar situation was unbelievably inefficient-- clearly they were tightly managing the liquor. Only one bar and you waited in line forever. I could have gone next door and got my drink faster. Couldn't hear any announcements in the dining area whatsoever. You had to be by the dance floor to hear anything. The entire staff should be fired. Don't be fooled by the unique venue space--it's the event staff that will let you down. read more

If it were possible to give this place 0 stars I would. Despicable service, food was hardly edible, and the bartenders were intolerable and EXTREMELY RUDE to everyone even the elderly. They were able to turn what would be an incredibly special moment into a sour one. The event manager was very rude as well and did absolutely nothing to ensure the event ran smoothly. Hats off to the Haight for ruining the night! Plan your wedding here if you want your family to leave angry and unsatisfied.
