Then someone called on the phone and instead of taking the customer that was in line waiting for them, they answered the phone and proceeded to answer a bunch of questions. Finally, about 5 minutes later they were done. I told them I wanted to purchase the balloon and get it blown up. They told me they were behind and had a lot of balloons to fill still. Fine, I just wanted to get my order in as it shouldn't take but a few minutes. The first thing they wanted was my email address. I told them I didn't want to give it to them. Yeah, I'm not signing up to get spammed. They told me they couldn't proceed without my email address. I said I just wanted to buy my balloon and get it blown up. They said they couldn't do it without my email address. Ridiculous! I gave them back the balloon and just walked out of there. Never going to do business there again.

Normally I would let this go, but I don't want to you to waste your time money or energy at this place. This is the second time they really messed up our order. I ordered balloons for my daughter's birthday a week in advance, I was told that the balloons would be ready the day of the party at noon. I had a confirmation for 9 am that day, but still waited until noon and the party was at 2. I got there to pick up the balloons, it was a mad house, my order was not ready, I tried to talk to someone, I got an attitude just trying to figure out what was going on, they didn't know what was happening, I waited in line where people were checking out and the man that went to serve me was a manager and he was condescending, and talked to me like I was a moron inconveniencing him. I paid over $100, placed my order a week in advance and just wanted to know where my order was. Unfortunately they refused to refund me, or help me in anyway. My daughter's eighth birthday party had no balloons. Thank God I didn't use them for my mom's memorial service. Sadly Party city just can't come through and can't be relied upon for events. I just unsubscribed to their emails. I was so excited too because they just rebranded, and this used to be my favorite place, but if their rebrand is just broken promises and stealing money I am more than happy to spend my money elsewhere. I still have not received my $100 refund.

We were on the hunt for a one stop shop for decor for a small backyard party during Covid-19:…read morelights, furniture, rugs, pillows, etc. This turns out it's harder to find than I expected unless you go with the big time players like Kehoe that was a bit pricier than I wanted for this particular party. I loved the rustic look of the furniture Elegant had and their prices were better than most. While they didn't have any rugs or pillows to rent (sigh), their wine barrels were perfection to use as high boys and ended up getting a bunch of their low benches to put together as low tables (to use with floor seating). And they were also able to provide lights for my backyard. While every other vendor told me that postposting due to rain or Covid-19 wasn't an option (say whaaa?) I also liked that they were flexible. The main issue was that getting ahold of them was extremely difficult. If the Yelp reviews didn't give me faith that they'd show in time fo the bash I would have been extremely worried. It took a lot of stalking for both me and my party planner to get a contract, pay for the contract and a date to set everything up. There is an emergency # and found that we had better luck when we called the emergency #. They set everything up a few days in advance so I didn't worry too much about them being a no show. I let them know they needed to come at 7am to get it all done since I was headed out for a busy day and they showed up even a few minutes early. An hour later my yard was lit up beautifully and I was really happy with the look of the furniture for the price. They set it all up on a Thursday morning and said they would be back on Monday to pick it up (also prompt for pick up) so we got to enjoy a long weekend of beautiful lights. While the service leading up to the event wasn't the best, I'd probably still use them since it was smoothly the weekend of the event. However, I'd hope they would be more on top of their communication next time.
