My office is across the street, and I'd heard for years about all the historic Holyoke artifacts that have made their way to the Wherehouse, but hadn't had the chance to go to an event there until recently. One of my girlfriend's co-workers had her wedding and reception there, and it did not disappoint. All kinds of interesting items are jam-packed on the walls and ceilings... including photos of St. Patty's day parade marshals from years past. The food was good, and beverage service was good despite being under-manned. If you get a chance to go, do it. You won't be disappointed. And be sure to ring the bell.... the rope is pulled at the bottom floor, ringing the bell 4 stories above. One other note about the Wherehouse... one of their items is a World War II air-raid siren. They sound it off religiously every Friday at noon sharp. If you are anywhere within about a mile of it and outdoors, you'll hear it. If you are on the grounds, you'll want to plug your ears, it's that loud.

On the Friday before our wedding, we were allowed to come in and set up with the Mill 1 staff following our design plan and instruction, and we could not have been happier about how it turned out. What a perfect celebration. The vendors we were given to choose from for catering were great, the bridal "ready room" was comfortable, and a beautiful setting for photos, and we just cannot be thankful enough for everything. If you're here looking for a fresh, green, and original space to get married or host an event, this space far exceeded my expectations, down to the extreme cleanliness of everything - including the shiny wood floors.
