I rarely write reviews but after two bad experiences here I wanted to leave something for others to read when considering a nail salon. Both times I had a young man do my pedicure, he mentioned being the owners son. Twice, he gave me a terrible pedicure. The second time he cut my skin, didn't say anything about it. Ran out of polish halfway through my pedicure and changed the color without consulting me or taking off the first color. I added the callus remover option and he did a terrible job. I needed to go somewhere else for a pedicure, after this pedicure. It seems as though you need to know who to ask for and if you get the wrong person - it's a terrible experience. I had a scheduled manicure and pedicure appointment at 2pm today. Upon arrival the reception staffer couldn't find the reservation but then did and directed me to the pedicure station. The technician working on another client filled the tub for me where I was left to sit for 30 minutes. No technician came over to deliver the service. After 30 minutes of sitting with my feet in the water I decided to leave. There was no staff at the reception desk. The customer seated to the right of me asked if I had an appointment and agreed that me because by left sitting there was absurd. This was my first and last visit to this business. They seemed understaffed, overwhelmed, and unconcerned with delivering a positive customer experience. I'm a new resident to the area and will unfortunately have to take business elsewhere. read more

THEY'RE OVERBOOKED! I had an appointment at 3pm for a pedicure and arrived 5 minutes early. They did not have a free chair open and I waited until 3:10 to be sat. Honestly not worth the money at all. The building smells bad and there are flys flying around. I got a gel pedicure and they didn't even scrub the dead skin off my feet. All they did was wash them with soap. I even asked to get the dead skin scrubbed off and they looked at me like I had 2 heads. And they proceeded to put some treatment on it and take off 10% of the dead skin there. It cost $60 without tip, which is extreme for the lack of service done. If they want to charge $60 it better have full service involved. Not to mention... the jet was broken on my chair! And the lady kept looking at me like I was the one who broke the jet!! Well, I will start with the positive. The employees all seemed very friendly. Now for the not so good. We had appointments for mani/pedi's to prep for a wedding. I felt extremely rushed. My nails were barely dry enough to do another coat, yet it was done immediately. It climbed and streaked, which I spoke up and was blown off. I made him fix it. The nail paint was horrible. On my cuticles and not even. I was rushed to my pedicure where I received a good toenail clean up, but little to no massage, no exfoliating (my feet are still rough) and no lotion. The woman who painted my nails did a great job with the coverage/color. She kept getting up to answer the phone and take payments...all while wearing the same gloves to do my pedicure and not changing to fresh gloves. I am not too worried, but considering you're forced to wear a mask here...they should be consistent with health PPE. I figured my nails were "good enough" for the wedding the next day...as they were jam packed and trying to rush me out. My nails began to pee and chip 7 hours later....with NO activity. I was not happy. I did not have time to go back to have them fixed before the wedding. They look horrible. I guess you get what you pay for, but i was disappointed. This salon is cute, clean and the staff is super friendly. I called to make an appointment at 2 on Thursday and a pedi and gel mani. The pedi was simple, good cleaning of the nails and a quick massage. I accidentally stubbed my toe in the bathroom and they were very nice about fixing it for me. Had dip powder manicure which lasts 4 weeks for me, this one lasted 4 days. Cuticles we're never even trimmed & only 1 or 2 passes with powder then done. I get several coats of powder where I live in North Carolina. Also when told to wash hands, same damp towel used by everyone else there. Very poor & very expensive as well. read more

I had an appointment here at 9:00 for a kids manicure & pedicure and an adult dip manicure and pedicure. My pedicure started over a half hour late and my daughters pedicure was already done by the time they started mine. Then, I went for my dip manicure and the woman doing my nails (never introduced herself so I don't know her name) was answering phone calls and talking to other people around me. She was too distracted to be doing nails too. My nails were SOO rushed and you can tell just by looking at them. Two of the tips on my nails are crooked, therefore my whole nail looks crooked. I pointed this out to her when she glued them on and she told me not to worry that she wasn't done. She never fixed this issue. My nails are way thicker than they should be for dip and there are some nails that have the clumps of the clear polish stuck under them. I did not even end up walking out of there until about 11:15. This was honestly terrible service and I will never go back. read more

In a nutshell: bad experience at the salon, nails looked decent when I left, horrible after effects. Everything started off well. We made the appointment with ease and my pedicure went well. During my pedicure the salon began to get busy and the lady who appeared to be in charge took over my manicure and she began to rush. During the cuticle removal she cut my fingers TWICE, enough to make me bleed. She then said she could help with that at applied the blue cleaning formula to my cut! OUCH! It burned!! She then mistakenly put on gel basecoat on my nails. I told her to remove it. She was shocked and said since I was the bride I should have gel and she wouldn't charge me extra. I informed her that it was not a matter of money but that the gel ruins my nails. She told me to soak in acetone but I couldn't after she had cut my fingers and buffed my nails because the acetone stung. Her next "solution" was to take out the mechanical buffer to remove the gel. This seemed to be an ok thing and I never had this done. Boy, was I wrong! Check my pics to see the damage that's still present 2 months after my wedding. :( read more

One star because a single star is the lowest possible rating.....wish there fewer. Worst pedi I've ever had. I can sort of overlook sloppy, careless work if prices are super cheap, assuming that I was getting what I paid for. The prices here are exactly the same as every other place ($65$. I had to go home and loofa my heels and foot bottoms myself, despite mentioning the lack luster job my tech was doing not once, but twice. My feet are pedicured every two weeks so we're not talking about neglected, crusty old lady feet. Mani wasn't much better. I was having a dark color removed and replaced with a light one, which has never proved to be a challenge in the part, for techs who take pride In their work. I shouldn't have to inspect each cuticle on each nail for residual deep red color, as my tech asked me to do....isn't that her job? In retrospect I'm glad I did, lord knows what a hot mess my fingers would have looked liked without having done so. read more

My friend and I stopped in to get pedicures on Sunday 7/28/19. We did not have an appointment, however, the sign in the window said Walk- In's are welcome. When we came in we were greeted with "Can I help you?" My friend said we wanted to get pedicures and one of workers said "Do you have an appointment?" Castle Nails is a big step up from your average strip-mall nail salon. Some of the positives: their massage chairs are the nicest I've ever sat in, everyone is friendly and speaks English, they have a great polish selection (OPI, China Glaze, etc.) in an organized wall display, and the premium pedicure ($45) comes with an extended leg/foot massage and a complementary glass of wine. The negatives: I had an appointment with Michael and he ran about 30 minutes late, which from other reviews seems to be a common complaint. Also the prices are 30% higher than what I pay at home. But for a central location, great staff, and a very clean salon, I'd still give the place 4.5 stars. I plan on becoming a regular. read more

We showed up on a slower morning during bike week. There was two guys there to do our three pedicures. Yan did two of us, and did a great job. Nice massages, and a good 40 minutes or so for a 30 dollar pedicure. Not too shabby. They have the sterilizer in view and pulled the tools straight from it. A mani/pedi is 40 bucks. I'll be going back. A tip from them is to call for appointments during the summer season, as they get super busy. read more

I Went to castle nails to have dip polish removed and then get a manicure and new polish put on. I had an appointment. Half hour after the appointment I was told I would have to take the dip polish off myself. It was another half hour before a tech came over to finish my process. When I came here I had to get a brand new set because the previous salons nails lifted within 2 days. I walked in today for a gel manicure and was immediately attended to. The lady asked me to pick a color and then sit at one of their manicure stations. There were probably 5 or 6 stations in a line as well as 4 or 5 pedicure chairs. The lady called up another worker and the girl began my manicure. I never found out what her name was But she knew what she was doing and used tools that were taken directly out of sanitizer. She asked a lot of questions about what I wanted which I really liked. She did a great job on my nails and they look great now! I would recommend this place to anyone. My nails were $30 for a gel manicure which is an average and fair price. On vacation in Lake Winnie and needed a quick gel manicure. Knocking off a star bc they claim they can handle walk ins but in August on a rainy Tuesday that was not the case. Only 2 staff members working. They asked me to come back and when I said ok for a scheduled time they called me back and said it wouldn't work after all. Ended up just calling back a little later and got in. The four stars is for Mike and how awesome he was. Loved the conversation and felt like I was his client that had been going there for years. I was not rushed even though he had an appointment after me. He also had a personality. Important to me when I am sitting getting my nails done. I'm easily bored. Some technicians won't speak to you no matter what. Mike made me smile. It's hard to do on a rainy day for me. I get cranky on vacation with no sun. When I found a slight perfection with my polish, after the fact, (I'm picky) Mike fixed it immediately. I would go back here and trust me I don't go just anywhere. I read reviews of nail salons before I go bc I worry about cleanliness, ease and people that won't entertain me. This place did not let me down. Thanks yelp!!
