Watch your receipts all of you, especially tourists!!!! As a person on fixed income, and a local,…read moreThey are overcharging customers for (sliced deli ) meat, (and who knows what else I did not bother to hang around and find out ) by ADDING SALES TAX TO DELI MEAT. Yes to prepared sandwiches! NO , Never to slides deli meat, or any meat! Instead of fixing the problem they offered to refund my money. I actually wanted the board head product( without paying sales tax on meat. ) I don't understand what they thought they were or think they're doing. It's illegal!!!! Best deli meat ever ,in my opinion ,is Boars Head & they have it. I've worked at numerous deli's (Adam's) and Supermarkets, ie: Waldbaums, where you had to actually Know what was taxable and not taxable . And I'm sure a bunch of other people can't agree that, meat , in this case,is not taxable. He knew he was wrong. He said he was in the middle of updating his system. But instead of fixing the problem, and taking off the sales tax so I could leave with the meat , I would have loved to have had & give them my money at $13.99 /lb (a bit high, but was willing to pay for it) He offered my money back so that the next unknowing, tourist, (tourist town, or regular person )in particular would go in there and actually pay him the extra bit of money he's getting that you don't have to claim on your tax forms because it's not a section on the form to pay tax on because MEAT IS NOT taxable. So he's collecting money just like my vet did in Lake Katrine New York collected money on my dog's medicine on sales tax until I caught it. Medicine is not taxable at all either. Including Band-Aids, aspirin, medicated shampoo. Just be careful consumers out there. Because if you're not paying attention, they'll take your money, because that is exactly what is happening when they tax items that don't belong BEING TAXED. It's our country's 250th birthday where we didn't pay the sales tax on the TEA ( 250 years later, we're still not paying sales tax on Tea. (Or coffee) You are welcome;-)! I'm sure I am one of the first and few that have noticed tax on meat, in that store & brought it to their attention So hopefully I am not banned from that store. I will let you know in about 60 days or so. Update btw need to say, I really don't want to be that person to "hurt " local businesses but someone needs to know and if it were a big corporation I'd post it too. I obviously didn't buy the meat nor have any thoughts of posting anything about the company.or I'd have had my phone out to screen shot it. But that was my experience trying to get my favorite deli meat (and willing to pay the $2.00 tourists tax I call it jokingly) more per lb than most anywhere in Ulster county but wasn't willing to pay sales tax. Hope they have" fixed ". Their system. What a waste of a pound of turkey too. Rather than acknowledge the fact and sell it to me correctly.

Pulled pork, same, delish. Mac and cheese - lovely look to it with rich cheese flavor. Bit too soft and creamy for me - my own preference - it is however really well done. Also, ribs perfectly cooked. Flavorful but a bit too sweet for me. Again, my preference, not any shortcomings on their end. Brussel sprouts aren't my thing but these were really good. Ohhh, bread pudding is slamming. Well done chefy.

I love barbecue. Doesn't matter if it's Texas, Kansas City, Memphis, or St. Louis. I'm equally as…read morefond of Carolina mustard sauce as I am Alabama white, and I consider myself a fairly good judge of meat, sauce, and the cook as well, so when I saw a sign for BBQ just a half hour outside of New York City, I should have known better. I told myself "Self" I said, "There's no way this NY BBQ is gonna be good." but I didn't listen... I should have listened... Walking in, we waited to be greeted, but when nothing happened for a few minutes we sat ourselves, which prompted a response by way of the hostess to tell us we had to move, that table was reserved. Eventually we got seated and handed a menu. We ordered a Box #2, which is 2 meats and 2 sides and we got a slice of cornbread to start, then came the food. - Cornbread. This was apparently foreshadowing for the whole meal. Dry and tasteless, it had a weird honey-esque drizzle across the top, but a box of expired dollar store Jiffy mix would have been better. We asked for butter, which of course came out cold and hard. We probably should have called it quits right there but we were hungry and how bad could it be? ** We found out ** - Brisket. We asked for fatty (who wouldn't?) and got the dryest, toughest, slices of meat ever. Looking at the pic, you can see even on a white plate there's absolutely no juice in this meat, and no flavor either, it had to be doused with sauce to be edible. - Burnt Ends had a decent crust, but again, meat so dry it could choke you and so tasteless you wished it would. Again, look for juice in that photo, you won't find it. - Cole Slaw was colorful and crisp but fairly bland. Semi sweet ISH would be the closest flavor profile I could find up with. - Homemade Pickles were actually good, but sadly they weren't enough to save this meal. Do not waste your time or money here, but if you go, make sure you order a pitcher of water to help you wash it down.
