Unfortunately, the quality was disappointing and unprofessional, even after return visits. Manny arrived with his trainee, J. They removed the old shower doors, cut the horizontal pieces to fit, and positioned the new frame. Manny instructed J on caulking, then said he was leaving. When I questioned this, he became defensive but ultimately stayed, though he still didn't review J's finished work. He advised me not to use the shower for 24 hours. The next day, I found the doors weren't secured in the lower carrier and could swing side to side freely. I contacted Manny, who returned alone the following day. He explained the header couldn't be lowered and proposed replacing the entire bathtub/shower. Instead, I suggested using a spacer to raise the carrier, and he agreed. Two days later, Manny and J returned. Manny got J started, then waited in his truck. Again, he didn't inspect the finished work. Again, he told me not to use the shower for 24 hours. When I finally used the shower, I found the carrier was misaligned. The spacer consisted of two uneven plastic pieces, messily caulked, causing the inner door to malfunction. Both doors were hung with the water-resistant side facing outward, and large sections of clear caulk were missing on the inside and outside of the frame. After I sent more photos, they offered to fix the "mistakes" and insisted the warranty required them to do repairs. No way. Three visits already. Three strikes, they're out. Despite multiple corrections, the final invoice was sent only as a screenshot of a preview, not as a PDF. Even after repeated requests, they would not confirm the one-year warranty in writing.

If you run into these people, run the other way! Like the lecture on "how to use a hammer" that I overheard the first day they came. Or the worker who is on my camera standing around for an hour, doing nothing. I don't know if they have too much going on and not enough quality people working for them, or what the deal is. We had so many instances that they would do work and it had to be undone because no one communicated to them. They seem to have no supervision. Bottom line, don't put yourself through the grief!!

Total Scam - Avoid at All Costs!…read more Jim, the owner of Los Gatos Electric, came to my house and quoted me $1,500 to remove an old generator. He demanded I wire him the money immediately, with ZERO paperwork or formal documentation. Foolishly, I trusted him and sent the money with zelle right away--big mistake. Later, I checked their Yelp reviews (why didn't I do this sooner?!) and started seeing red flags about their shady business practices. I called Jim to cancel the work and asked for my money back. That's when he got angry and said he'd only give me a partial refund. Since then, he's completely ghosted me--no calls, no emails, nothing. This is beyond unprofessional--it feels like a straight-up scam. I'm furious and frustrated that someone would take advantage of their customers like this. If you're thinking about hiring Los Gatos Electric, DON'T. Learn from my mistake and stay far away.

We recently bought a new house and needed some electrical work done including installing a Tesla…read morecharger, adding recessed lights, upgrading our electrical panel, rewiring knob and tube wires, and adding in ethernet wiring. I did some Yelp bidding and Victor was pretty responsive and came out to our place for an estimate. He seemed pretty knowledgeable about code requirements and pointing out some things we should update and what things seemed fine to leave alone. After chatting with some other electricians Victor's rates seemed reasonable so we went with him. Victor and his team were prompt to work with us and fit us in between various projects. It still did take a few weeks to finish everything between waiting around for permit and PG&E inspections. However Reliable Electric coordinated all the logistics for those matters and would update us as things got scheduled. Our original scope of work was upgrading the panel, installing the Tesla charger, and adding recessed lights. Since we didn't have a big attic or a crawl space, they had to open up some of our walls to do the work. That's when we discovered that there were still knob and tube wiring in some parts of our house (was built in 1953). He recommended rewiring since that would work better with our new lighting and it would make things safer. While we had the walls open we decided to run some ethernet cables to different rooms for convenience. We discovered a breaker not working during the first week after we moved in but Victor was quick to come out and replaced it free of charge. He also did a few other gratis things for us like securing the outside wiring around the house and replacing some old switch boxes. A few months after moving in, some of the outlets in our house stopped working. Victor came out in a timely manner to look at the issue. He was thorough in testing out the breakers and the problematic outlets. Turns out it was a loose neutral wire in another outlet. It was promptly fixed and everything seems to be working again. Since this was our first home purchase and contractor project, here are some things I learned: -Reliable Electric does not patch walls. Since they had to open the walls for rewiring, we had to also find someone to do drywall patching. For future projects I will ask contractors what are some items that their scope of work will not cover. -While it was easy to coordinate with Reliable Electric directly, it may still be beneficial to work with a general contractor if you have a bigger project. We were doing other updates around the house (painting, flooring) and I felt like I had a second job coordinating everyone. -For future projects I will research and buy the materials myself to save on some costs. We've been in our new house for a few months now and are enjoying our updated electrical work!
