Seems the service was confused when we asked for extra ranch dressing, they began to give it to us and then held it back as if though it was solid gold the Calamari should be taken off the menu the salad had a pool of water at the bottom of the bowl, which caused the croutons to become soggy and ruined the salad it was just a complete mess. Castello's Clermont was being raved about on a Clermont site so I had to check out their acclaimed New York Style pizza and Italian cuisine. Alas, the pizza and entrees did not live up to the fanfare. The pizza's crust was doughy and had mainly cheese and very little sauce on it, we ordered it well done which as you can see by the pic below was not. The pizza tasted like a good frozen pizza at best and very bland. Moving onto the entrees of eggplant Parmignia and chicken Parmignia with pasta, they were both subpar. My eggplant was burnt, tough and tasted of frying oil. The chicken parm was lacking in flavor due to the sauce and both pastas were swimming in watery sauce since they did not drain pasta adequately. The only thing that was good was the freshly filled cannoli in a great chocolate dipped crispy shell. Service also was greatly lacking since twice the staff disappeared into the kitchen talking and laughing making us have to go to the counter to call them. Ps we were the only customers there do they were not busy cooking. We will definitely not be returning and advice others to skip them as well. read more

A little hidden from the road and a bit hard to find. This pizza joint was very friendly walking in and quiet for a Sunday after noon. FYI they serve Pepsi products so no diet coke. Menu is very limited to mainly pizza and a few other items. Limited selection of beer on tap oh course Peroni, yuengling, Coors and a Sam Adam's rotator. We ordered the meat lovers see pic added. I am not a big fan of thin crust so don't go off my opinion. Toppings were really good and fresh, downside no fresh parmesan only the mass produced dry powder stuff. We were recently camping at the nearby state park and decided against cooking in the camper one night. Instead, we decided to go into town and check out what was available. Castello's popped up on Yelp! and had some good reviews, so we had to give it a shot. I'm glad we did because the food was very good and the service was quick, efficient and friendly. We did dine quite early in the evening, so we had most of the restaurant to ourselves. As we were finishing up, customers started to file in. I ended up going with the Margarita pizza which was absolutely delicious . My son got a meatball sub which he also liked a lot. Food was hot, fresh and gone in no time. My wife and I stopped here today for lunch. We enjoyed a small supreme pizza fir the two of us, and shared an order of stuffed manicotti along with a side salad. The pizza was great! The crust was perfect, thin, and crisp -- just the way we like it. The stuffed manicotti was tasty with lots of ricotta for the stuffing, a proper amount of mozzarella, and marinara sauce, along with some garlic cheesy knots. So I ordered wings and mozzarella sticks. I was supposed to get blue cheese with my wings I did not I did get the marinara sauce with mozzarella sticks however the mozzarella sticks were hard and some what dry and left the roof of my mouth scraped. The wings although the sauce was tasty some of the wings were completely covered which left them rather dry as well. Overall I'll give two stars for prompt and fast service. I like Italian food and I like pizza so I will try them again for the pizza but I would never order the wings and or mozzarella sticks again the Stabley Schmidt is good looking and has some outdoor seating and looks quite Italian-esq, that's where the third star comes from. read more

I wish I could give them a 5 star rating, but I can't. Pizza is pretty good, but my issue is with their website versus their location, their ability to recover from incorrect order, and their safety (which goes with their recovery. 1st their website. Their website usability is definitely not user friendly. Their is also no connection between the website specials (that you can't order) and the specials at the location itself. 1 offer was the 3 12" pizzas for $8.95 each. On the website it says Clermont special and Clermont Deal. When I call they said, "We don't offer that." After I asked about the website, they said they didn't update it. Strike 1. After putting in the order, the pizza arrived sooner than expected. Seemed like a plus. Then when we opened them, they were the wrong order. So we called them back to get it fixed. They were willing to remake the pizzas. However, they wanted the pizzas they gave us back. WHAT?! During a global pandemic you want to take an item that has been in an unknown home (luckily we don't have COVID) and bring it back to your store. I get that it might be policy and you don't want people to try and get extra pizzas, but this is ridiculous. How many times has this happened? What other pizzas or food did they pick up from homes and bring back. This is a big safety issue for the business and for the driver that had to come and pick it up. I used to love Castello's Pizza, but now I don't trust them with their food safety or their employee safety. Also their ability to fix an issue that they created. Unfortunately, there's nothing that makes Castello's stand out from the standard light Italian/pizza restaurants in Clermont. Nice service, small place, food quality was good. We started with cheesy garlic bread which really was a medium pizza without tomato sauce and with extra garlicky sauce. It was tasty. Then we had a meat lovers pizza - thin, crispy crust and the usual suspects in the meats. Tasty, light and we ate it all. Nothing bad at all, just nothing so outstanding either. Limited draft beer selection but they do serve an extra large beer. Have Peroni in bottles. read more

Totally disappointed in the service this evening. We ordered 1 pizza and 1 entre at 530. We were told 1.5 hours for delivery after calling to check around 730 it still was not on it's way. I hate to leave a mediocre review for what seems like a family owned place. But, just had my first taste of this pizza. The crust is good if you like New York type of thin crust, I guess? It's crispy and has bite. I don't particularly like "New York type" of crust but it's surprisingly pretty ok especially compared to how it looks. The rest of the pizza, however, tastes rather bland and dry with hardly any sauce. The cheese layer is very thin and toppings light. I would hazard to say for the medium size that I had with Supreme toppings, it is by far the lightest weight pizza served in the whole area - by far. This tells me something is missing. I picked up instead of delivery and was told 20-25 minutes when called but I went to pick up 30+ minutes later and was told the pizza was still not ready for an additional 5 minutes. All told the pick up pizza took more than 40 minutes. Being so thin and light, I would think this pizza would cook in 5 minutes tops, so, they probably didn't even put it in the oven until I arrived. I can't imagine they were overbooked because they were certainly not busy or anything. There were four people total in the rather large restaurant. The big problem is the pizza just doesn't taste satisfying. Can't taste any sauce. Cheese layer is scant - I literally can't taste any cheese on some bites. I ordered a supreme and toppings aren't too too little but could use more, not anymore than what you'd get from any franchise pizza shop. I feel like I've literally had better pizza in some gas stations; you know the kind that have been sitting under heating lamps for a couple hours. Price seems $2 higher than pizza shops nearby. And I actually would prefer most franchise shops over the pizza here and that's kind of sad to say. I do wish the people who owns the place luck. Just this pizza's not for me. Everyone has their own tastes in pizza so, I can't say I'm right and everyone else is wrong. Just, not for me. It's probably the least favorite pizza I've ever had from a neighborhood pizza shop in all my life. As I take bites out of it while writing this, I can't taste a lick of sauce and can't taste much cheese either. Tastes so bone dry. Ordered pizza for pickup. They had a 2 for 1 deal which I happily made use of. Impressions of the dining area were very small and not quite intimate. I don't think I'd be eating here unless they redesign. I ordered Napoletana x2: Artichokes, Sundried Tomatoes, Red Onions, Red Peppers & Arugula Presented very well and cooked nicely. Cost was somewhat expensive, but this was their flagship pizza apparently. Taste was awesome, the veggies balanced well together and very very flavorful. Not overly garlicky or anything of the sort. Not excessively oily like many of the chain places. I absolutely recommend this pizza joint for delivery or take out, top notch quality. read more

We called for delivery of a pizza since we live 1.3 miles from the restaurant to our apt in Clermont, they took the order and told us that the pizza will be delivered in 20-25 minutes! SO we placed an ordered for delivery at 5:45 pm and were told it would be 1hr - 1:15min time frame which was fine. 2:30 minutes later we called and asked about the order and were told they were slammed and were behind, offered 20% off the order and delivery would arrive in 20 minutes. In 20 mins, I called again about the order and spoke to Cheryl, the manager. She said they were slammed and that the computers went down, caused the delay. A courtesy call back to let us know about the delay would have been nice and I was disappointed about the offer of 20% off the bill and I offered a flat $30.00. At first I was asked to pay $31.50 on a bill of $48.00, really, they would argue over $1.50 to help satisfy a dissatisfied customer... This was a horrible experience and I will never order or visit this establishment again nor would I recommend anyone to go here due to the customer service alone. read more
