There are some amazing things about this theatre space…read more I love the way the doors can slide open so on nice Orlando nights it's like an open air entrance. I love how beautiful the stairwell is going up to two. I love how much they have expanded their food and beverage line up over the years. The sound tends to be pretty good, the communication from the theatre is always amazing. They waive fees if you come to the box office to buy your tickets. The seats are comfy and almost every seat has a solid view. The box seats are the exception so be warned. The volunteers are always amazing and they are so nice. It would be cool if they opened a second location that served coffee because that line for espresso beverages is always really long. I love the breadth of show types. There's always something for everyone.

Swan Lake October 2025…read more This is one of those performances that stays with you long after the curtain comes down. I saw Swan Lake back in October 2025, and somehow I'm only just now sitting down to write about it.... I apologize for not getting this review out sooner. The last time I had seen this ballet... I was in my twenties, which feels like another lifetime ago. Swan Lake sits right up there with The Nutcracker in terms of recognition. You grow up knowing it, even if you've never actually seen it live. As a little girl, it lives in your imagination. The costumes, the movement, the elegance, and that quiet belief that maybe one day you could be that dancer. For a lot of people, that dream gets planted early and never fully leaves. Walking into this performance, I felt that history. Not just personal, but cultural. Swan Lake carries weight because it's about illusion versus truth, about wanting something you can't quite have and mistaking appearances for reality. Tension is built into every movement. Swan Lake is not the same experience as The Nutcracker. The Nutcracker is festive and structured more like a showcase. Swan Lake is continuous, demanding, and far more intense. The lead roles require stamina, precision, and emotional control from start to finish, and the corps de ballet has to move in perfect synchronization with no room for error. It really is the Olympics of ballet. This performance delivered. It was polished, immersive, and held my attention the entire time. I found myself watching not just the choreography, but the control, the discipline, and the way each dancer carried themselves on stage. One dancer in particular stood out to me, Bernardo Betancor. He was exactly what you imagine when you think of a leading male ballerina. He carried a statuesque presence on stage and was, without question, easy on the eyes. More than that, he had command. The kind that makes your eyes go back to him whether you mean to or not. I'm glad I finally made it back to Swan Lake after all these years, and even more glad I didn't miss this one. Huge thanks to Ronnald M. for pulling me into this night, because let's be honest... this is not exactly a bad way to spend an evening.

First I should say: I only attended a couple of classes but knew quickly this place wasnt for me…read more (And in the business owner's reply they will probably reply that if I stayed I would have seen more), which would be highly unlikely because the way Its taught is the only way people on zoom could also attend. So If they did try to break into groups, the people on zoom would be unable to take part. So that should illustrate what that place purpose is. Is it a business? of course and so money is their MO. But packing people in just to get warm bodies- not cool Bob is great, very passionate and humorous, but I was not there for comedy hour and unfortunately the teaching process was non existent, nor for me was it effective. Class is three hours long and you only do a one to two minute dialogue with brief critique while the students who have been there longer do a scene and get critiqued as well as the people on zoom. So you can see that academic model is more for volume and turn over, not so much for quality instruction.. I had to drive an hour each way then sit two hours or more to do a one minute dialogue. I thought there would be some kind of technique taught, but after my last class monologue the guy teaching was like "dont be so mechanical" then he gave me a brief example. There is no scene study or character development as advertised. Just some pointers. And alot of time is spent with him joking and talking about sometimes unsavory things to elicit laughter under the guise of making people relaxed. For him Its just a way to have fun. There is nothing really professional about that class. If you are a real student and enjoy learning dont go there. He has little control of the class. As a teacher of not only martial arts but English as well for 20 years, I can say there are much more effective ways to teach a group of 20 students that are better and Why does anyone would use zoom for learning acting... convenience, cheaper price? fear? And even in the book that is recommended for the class by Basil Hoffman, in the book on page 27 he writes: " time is precious and fleeting. Dont squander it in frustration and confusion. There are good teachers and there are right ones for you." As soon as I read that I contacted the business guy for the group (which is his son) and told him I wouldn't be attending anymore. I am not upset or angry but come on..there is no scene study , there is no real structure or techniques taught. If the teacher reads this and starts actually teaching and not acting like a teacher, than it will be a 250 dollars well spent. I will probably be blackballed for just being honest but truthful living is more important than truthful acting. As a beginner it just seemed useless to me. But I do like Bob. Great personality and sincere. Just wish he would understand that its not about him in the room. Why not break up into pairs and groups so people can actually learn by doing not just watching. Then the students would become familiar with each other and there wouldn't be a gap between the new and older students and then people would really be comfortable and it would truly be a safe environment. But I am learning that in this business there are teachers and there are actors, who act like teachers. For me Its easy to discern but for the 20ish age group they dont have enough experience to understand what they see. People talk about truthful acting but truthful living is more important * This is a respectful and honest review of my direct experience, there is no pejorative tone intended and it is in no way intended to slander or injure a business. I am exercising my right to freedom of speech in a responsible way in an attempt to bring my direct experience forward so people understand what they might expect if they choose this place because not much information is online about this business and the way it is presented on the website is not as it is. In all fairness noone at the place did anything bad or wrong, for me it was just not productIve so my goal is to enlighten people as to the reality compared to the idea.

He's the only instructor to get me out of my head and taught me how to connect to a character in such an authentic way. No tricks, no gimmicks....just genuine emotion and clarity. If I could give 0 stars, I would. If you value your time and money, avoid this class…read more BUYER BEWARE: This is marketed as a commercial acting class, but most of what is taught is basic acting and improv. If you are looking for focused commercial training that you can actually apply to auditions and bookings from day one, this is not it. This entire situation could have been avoided if The Studio Orlando had: * Responded to emails in a timely manner * Taken a paying student's concerns seriously * Had ownership step in when issues were beyond the office manager's control Here's what happened: I enrolled in early August and immediately noticed the class was not aligned with what was advertised and what I was looking for in a class. I still gave it two full classes to be fair. Unfortunately, that only confirmed my concerns. The instructor, Ashleigh, may have acting experience, but it did not translate into effective teaching. She frequently strayed from the curriculum, appeared unprepared, and gave very little useful feedback. At the end of the second class, she introduced an improv game and openly admitted she didn't know the rules. Two students attempted to demonstrate it (incorrectly), the exercise went completely off track, and rather than clarify or correct it, she made a few comments and then changed topics without acknowledging what had just happened. In the first class, we were shown two personality slate examples--one correct and one clearly incorrect--but both were taught as acceptable. The following week, that same incorrect slate was shown again with an obvious edit to shorten it, and the instructor still did not recognize it as wrong. This reinforced incorrect industry practices, which is unacceptable in a class claiming to be professional commercial training. I raised these concerns respectfully and provided video evidence when asked. In return, communication from The Studio became delayed, then dismissive, and ultimately nonexistent. It has now been nearly two months with no resolution, response, or accountability. Who this class may or may not be for: * If you're a beginner, you may not recognize the issues and might find it useful. * If you're an experienced actor seeking specific commercial techniques, this class will be a waste of your time. You will spend most of it on improv and general acting fundamentals rather than commercial-specific material. Since raising my concerns in early August, I have been patient, respectful, and cooperative. In return, I have received delayed responses, dismissiveness, and eventually complete silence--even after submitting the proof they requested. Shame on me for signing up for a class from a studio based in Orlando. I'll now be training with AHC+RLC in Los Angeles, where classes are taught by casting professionals, not other auditioning actors. If you need an online class, there are definitely better options out there. This is my personal experience, and others may have a different one, but I hope this review helps future students make an informed decision before spending their time and money.
