In addition to the taco pizza, we got one of their Union Jacks, which most closely resembles Giordano's special. With regard to the taco pizza, it differs from the Happy Joe's version in that it isn't made with refried beans, which I think is a critical component of a proper taco pizza. Still good, but not quite what I was looking for. The Union Jack was good, a very classic Chicago-style pizza. The crust was good, maybe just a little dry. In any case, this satisfied our cravings but we'll be getting one of those Happy Joe's originals soon.

The pizza was excellent--perfectly cooked crust and fresh toppings that actually taste like they came from an Italian kitchen. It's hard to find a place that gets the balance of sauce and cheese just right, but they nailed it. To top it off, they have Peroni on deck. There's nothing better than a cold, crisp Italian lager to cut through a rich pizza. Great atmosphere, even better food. We'll definitely be back!

But, let's add in the rest... shrimp scampi, chicken Parmesan, Italian farmer's pasta with an added meatball, eggplant Parmesan... and for our now 7-year old from the bambino menu a cheese pizza... and we all enjoyed the wonderful basket of herbed focaccia. We shared. We laughed. We enjoyed. The server, Erika (might be spelled wrong - sorry) was wonderful. Though we could have easily stopped with the main meal... we did have dessert... tiramisu, lemon mascarpone cake and cannolis. I'd add pictures but the pics on the web site are all very good. We grabbed a pepperoni pizza as well and it hit the spot! So many tasty pepperonis, super cheesy, and the crust was delightful! It was also one of those pizzas that you can heat up in the microwave the next day without compromising the flavor. That is truly a hurdle for pizza reheating. One day during a lunch break a coworker and I drove here to pick up pizza also, and I convinced him we NEEDED to get cheesy bread. Let's just say, we're the only ones that knew it existed because it didn't even make it back to work. I have a special place I my heart for that stuff, and the cravings are so real. It was a lot of wine but a good deal! The only thing that was difficult is their printed wine menu is different from what they had available.
