It blows my mind how low the rating is for this place! It looks like it has a lot to do with delivery and less to do with the food itself. I used to get Marcos (fairly often) when I lived in Utah, and I looooved it. I was really excited to see one in Iowa! Their cheesy bread is perfectly cheesy, garlicky, and bready. I am aware that I just described cheesy bread in a less than creative way, but you'll understand what I'm saying when (not if) you get yourself some! We grabbed a pepperoni pizza as well and it hit the spot! So many tasty pepperonis, super cheesy, and the crust was delightful! It was also one of those pizzas that you can heat up in the microwave the next day without compromising the flavor. That is truly a hurdle for pizza reheating. One day during a lunch break a coworker and I drove here to pick up pizza also, and I convinced him we NEEDED to get cheesy bread. Let's just say, we're the only ones that knew it existed because it didn't even make it back to work. I have a special place I my heart for that stuff, and the cravings are so real. Give Marcos Pizza a Chance by picking up a fresh pizza and cheesy bread. Or forget the pizza part. Because we know my stance on cheesy bread. Okay, so the thin crust pizza was pretty darn good! I wasn't expecting much, but had to order for the school PTO pizza fundraiser. Crisp crust, lots of cheese, good sauce and plenty of pepperoni and sausage. read more

Average pizza at best. We ordered a 2 topping pizza with cheese sticks. The cheese sticks were topped with some not so great Parmesan cheese. The pizza sauce was very sweet as was the crust. Our order included garlic sauce but tasted more like melted margarine with garlic powder. Furthermore, the crust was to have Parmesan on it but after tasting the parmesan from the cheese sticks we were actually ok they forgot it. I will say the sausage was ok. We gave a better than average tip for delivery man since the were in a hotel and he was nice. read more

Stopped in the Hotel for the night. Out of all the delivery menus theirs looked the most appealing. After ordering, we were told it would be about 30 minutes or so. Due to a delivery that was a pretty good distance in the opposite direction they took almost an hour and a half and threw in a free cheese bread for the inconvenience. I am not really a fan of chain pizza places but this place converted me. Being new to the area I wanted to try a place I had never been to before and I remembered this from Undercover Boss. I am sure hardcore pizza people could find plenty to pick at but I am a simple man and Marco's hit all the right marks. The staff is amazing and welcoming, even over the phone I felt like I was a priority not a burden. The food is good and filling and the Cheese bread should come with a warning, it is that good. Their delivery may need work but as busy as they seem I am sure they are doing their best. As long as they are open I will be there, it is just a shame that Family Home Video is closing as it was great to grab a movie too. read more

I don't live in the area, but I stop in whenever I am near at all, as I love the pizza. Fresh. You can hold a piece without it falling, but it is not too crisp. I'm speaking of the medium crust. I had to take my cat to the cat emergency room the other night, and on the way home called them. It was three minutes past closing time, but they answered, and asked in a friendly way if they could help me. They made me a pizza, and though the timing was probably a nuisance for them, they didn't make me feel like it was. I love the pizza, but I've only tried the medium crust. read more

I want to like this place, I really do but they consistently mess my orders up. Not bad enough where it ruins the food but still, why can't they get it right?! I always ask for an extra cup of ranch and I've never gotten it... they've also forgotten my soda when I had it delivered and then never have the kind I want when I go and pick up my food. Again, nothing too bad but still. The cheesy bread is AMAZING and the pizza is pretty good for a chain. I really like how you can get the extras on the crust although I've noticed recently that if you don't ask for it, they don't advertise it. This place is definitely worth four stars but until they start getting orders correct I have to leave it at three! read more

The food here is absolutely worth the wait! Todd B. try it again during the week. The sandwiches are incredible! we cut them in half and save the other half for the next day, The pizza's can be made like the sandwich. We order and pick up on the weekend, they are way to busy on the weekend and very short on drivers. Anyone need a job??!! LOL Oh yea and you have to try the wings!!! And the dessert bread, soooooo yummy, New businesses always mess up once in a while but they have been doing great with our food so far. I placed an order online for delivery at 9:30 and paid for the order using my credit card. I was informed delivery would be roughly 10:20. How disappointing that they take your money and don't deliver your order. What makes it worse is that they don't have the common courtsey to call and tell you to find somewhere else eat or anwser the phone when you call to ask about an order that was paid for. Truly pathetic business practices. I called Marcos today to check to make sure that I was getting a refund on my order, I was placed on hold so that the manager could look into the issue. He came back on the phone and informed me that the issue was me not answering the phone or coming to the door. RIDICULOUS! I received no calls on my cell phone nor did anyone come to my house. Such a lame excuse. I have 2 dogs at my house and for anyone out there reading this who has dogs, you know it is impossible to not to hear someone at your door. The day manager was nice and said he would talk to the night guys and refunded my money. Word of warning if you are going to order from Marcos make sure you do so during the day. After my previous review the district manager of Marco's Pizza contacted me. He asked me all the right questions, and asked me what he could do to make it right. He was very curtious and genuinely wanted to hear of my experience, to better understand what he could do to make not only mine, but every Marcos customers experience better. To whom ever hired this gentleman, you knew what you were doing. He is perfect for that job. Anyhow, i decided to try and order again, again it was late-im sorry i work. The young lady who answered the phone did a wonderful job taking my order. She seemed very knowledgeable of the menu and did a great job in answering all of my questions. I live kinda in the boonies, and my place is kinda hard to find, and most likely on the very edge of their delivery area. The pizzas arrived within the time quoted, it was hot, and smelled delicious. The cheesey breadsticks were by far the best i have eaten in years. You did a good job of taking a crappy situation and turning me into a customer for years to come. Good job. Thank you. read more

I ordered a take out pizza and it was fast and straightforward. I thought the place would be busy since I was ordering between 5 and 6, so that was another reason for the take out instead of delivery. They promised me it would be done in 15 minutes. Once I got there, it was ready alongside other pizza orders. The place itself is very clean, I was greeted very warmly and it felt genuine. They missed a topping in my order, but I also didn't catch it when they repeated back to me. Anyways, as for the pizza itself I thought it tasted great and fresh. Papa Johns usually have a cardboard aftertaste you can mask with the tomato sauce, and pizza hut is just fried to hell and it tastes greasy all the way. Marco's felt just right, with the dough baked moist and easy to bite into. The vegetable toppings weren't burned or taste like it was sitting around for a while. Overall, I was impressed and would definitely go again. I don't think the ads or coupons they send out give the pizza justice, or it makes the pizza look genetic. I think it tastes better than it looks. But most of all, I really enjoyed the short interaction in the store and I felt like they were really listening or at least willing to go above and beyond read more

IM SOOOO DISAPPOINTED!!! I have never been to Marcos before. So I checked their hours online which said they're open until 11pm. I went there @10:10pm & Was told sorry we are closed. When I told them that their website says 11pm the MORON manager mumbled " yeah, they've been having a problem w/ that." REALLY--it's a website! Marcos is a big franchise but CANT FIX AN ERROR ON THEIR WEBSITE!!!!! We ordered wings with pizza and when the order arrived the wings were soggy and soaking in water. We attributed it to being in the plastic container. We ordered them a second time, giving them another chance, and asked for extra crispy wings explaining the last time they were soggy. I went to pick them up and they said they cooked them 1 1/2 times. I instantly opened the lid to the plastic container to prevent more moisture. They took them out of the plastic to-go container and put them in a cardboard box. I left the lid up to prevent them from collecting moisture and they were still soggy. I only live 2 blocks away so it wasn't like they were boxed up collecting moisture. They were not crispy and we will not give them another chance. After trying several Pizza places in the Cedar Rapids/North Liberty/Coralville areas, I stumbled upon Marco's Pizza when the Family Video store opened. Marco's Pizza is as close to New York Pizza you can find in Iowa. I highly recommend Marco's Pizza! read more

My husband and I accidentally ordered the wrong pizza. We tried calling back in to reorder the correct pizza. The workers told us it was too late that we could order the pizza we wanted in addition to the pizza we didn't want. The worker told me that was the only option. I asked to speak to the manager. I told him the story and he said the same thing. I told him we would pay for the pizza we ordered but that we would no longer be customers to Marco's Pizza because they weren't willing to help switch the order around without paying for the two pizzas. The manager didn't seem to care that we weren't going to be their customers anymore. This was HORRIBLE customer service! We will NEVER eat at Marco's Pizza again! read more
