They changed the entrance from days of old but the interior is still cool. Service was top notch, not too creepy but there when needed. The food is ITALIAN! It is good- seriously good. Eat here if you want good food at a good value. Only complaint was the wine pour seemed a bit stingy.

The Ghost in the Machine: A Study in Youth and Enigmas at Rastrelli's…read moreIn the heart of Clinton, Iowa, Rastrelli's stands as a sprawling monument to local tradition, a place where the weight of history is palpable in every dining room. However, a recent visit suggests that while the walls remain steeped in heritage, the current operation is being steered by a remarkably green crew. The waitstaff and floor team are almost exclusively young, possessing an earnest but unpolished energy that seems to operate in a vacuum. Management was entirely invisible, a phantom presence that left the youthful staff to navigate the complexities of a large-scale dinner service without a seasoned captain at the helm. This lack of professional oversight leads to a breakdown in the basic choreography of service. The tables here are notably small, a logistical challenge that became apparent when steaming plates of hot pasta arrived while our salad trays still occupied the limited real estate. It is a fundamental error in pacing that a present manager would have corrected with a single glance. Furthermore, for a house that prides itself on its Italian roots, the absence of vinegar to accompany the olive oil for the bread was a curious and disappointing omission. The staffing model remains equally baffling. Our waitress seemed to be burdened with nearly every occupied table in the room. We were fortunate that the evening was not particularly busy; had the dining room been at capacity, the system surely would have buckled under the weight of such an uneven distribution of labor. The most surreal chapter of the evening, however, was the appearance of the "orange dish"--a neon-hued confection studded with marshmallows. When we sought clarification, the staff--notably, not the chef--explained that this enigmatic staple is prepared en masse every morning. It is a dish that feels like a spirited, mid-century potluck survivor, an orange enigma that remains the most bizarre part of the Rastrelli's experience. "Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire." -- Gustav Mahler Rastrelli's remains a cornerstone of the Clinton landscape, but the current fire seems to be flickering under the weight of an absent management and a disjointed service rhythm. While the youthful staff is to be commended for their effort, the establishment would benefit greatly from a steadying hand to guide the basics. I'm a little taken aback by the reviews here…read more... I thought this place was phenomenal. It was recommended by a coworker that lived in town, and I thought the theme was super cute. We did take out and the spot was super clean, I would even say spotless, when we walked in. The worker was super helpful and acknowledged us as we were walking through the door. It was a little later in the night, so the dining area was dead, which I appreciated because of COVID. Our food was pretty quick being made, maybe half an hour since the time we submitted an order. It was SO HARD to choose a pizza because they all looked so freaking good! We ended up with the pineapple BBQ chicken which was bomb, and their all meat pizza which was great. Their thin crust is SO GOOD, and they had what seemed like homemade ranch which was amazing. We also got some jalapeño poppers, onion rings (the perfect crisp), and cheese balls (omg can I just eat these for dinner?!). Literally everything was so fresh and delicious, I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town for work. This is my new pizza spot in Clinton.

WARNING - This is not the original. They just re-opened recently. No more tap beer. No more full…read moretable service. I'll start with my drink. To get any drink you will have to make a separate order at the bar. I had a jim beam and sprite. The sprite tasted like a stale dirty tap and barely any beam. Then to get food you have to go to the other side of the place and order through the hole in the wall. The prices didn't reflect the lack of staff. The prices did reflect the lack of customers. You can tell they really do try to make good food and it is sad to say that it is just average in my opinion. That could be because I am an extreme foodie and have eaten at places around the world. Everyone's food was okay and no one really had a complaint, but it really could be better. I just can't see a place like this staying open unless they do a lot of carry out or delivery. A place like this should go strictly carry out and delivery , it's just not competitive in this day and age when so many really cool full service restaurants are coming out. The main reason for the one-star review is because it has been downgraded and is no longer anywhere near the same place that it used to be. If you're going to reopen a place you should really try to make it better than it used to be. I will end on a positive note though and say that the bartender and food order taker were very very nice and welcoming.

Wow! What a fun place to check out!…read more Pizza Ranch not only had a salad bar, pizza bar, side dish / fried chicken bar, and dessert bar... but also, what looks to also be a brand new arcade located on the side of the dining room! I felt very pleasantly surprised at all of the games they featured and can't wait to come back to play. My favorite part about the entire dining experience was the salad bar (lots of topping options), the stuffed crust pepperoni pizza, creamy soft serve, and the fried chicken! Truly, the fried chicken was piping hot and delicious. I would definitely come back to Pizza Ranch. Great variety for an affordable price. Great spot for families or parties! And, the perfect temperature at every buffet bar.

No mention of "Buffet your way" but I did. You can get a pizza of your choice with a few slices brought to your table. They did do that. No broasted potatoes, I thought all PR's served them, not here. Slow to clear used plates. One empty booth sat with dirty plates almost the entire time we were there. Ours were only cleared when they brought a few slices of pizza to our table. Other than that we never saw anyone. We came in just a few minutes after they first opened, no chicken breasts in the pan. I thought that's sort of strange. We were there long enough that they brought out a refill of the chicken pan and we made a bee line for the pan.....still no chicken breasts. Something's doesn't seem right with that. We came away feeling short-changed for what we paid. We would not return to this PR location.
