This place was still open and we stopped in to look at the menu. The family working in there were very social while they took our order. It is a small place inside but just big enough for a small town restaurant. The pizza was good and moderately priced. I would say a good place to go and get a slice if you are near this downtown location.

This isn't as bad as I'd heard, nor is it as good. It doesn't taste like cardboard with sauce, but there is a manufactured texture to the crust. No one would mistake it for hand-tossed crust. I asked for a 9 inch deluxe and a sweet tea. When she asked for $12.56, I was a bit shocked! That was like a trip to LaRosa's near Cincinnati--with the tip. Now, The Americana (their deluxe/supreme) has the usual pepperoni, sausage, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers, but also has hamburger and black olives. That is worth a little extra, I suppose. The taste didn't encourage me. I didn't think "I've got to return to have more soon." I thought "Well, I've been here, and now, I know." It's not as bad as Mercurio's, but it wouldn't make my top 10. The sweet tea neither seemed to be sweet, nor tea. There wasn't much flavor. The best reason to go here is to support your neighbors and keep restaurants in Centerville. Maybe, if they get more business, they'll become better. They were shutting down the buffet when I arrived, so I'm not exactly sure what they normally do. I assume that it has pizza and salad. They have a small dining room that looks out onto Main Street/U.S. 40. Everyone who worked there was friendly and helpful.

There is no 'meat taste' at all so get in here and give these a try. I had a feeling I would love it and I did. It's a large yet cozy venue with the number 5 featured prominently in assorted art as well as on the tables. The building is historic, lots of wood, brick and brass railings plus a stunning Victorian bar back. We ate at the bar which was very comfortable. Little sliding wooden trays to make it convenient for eating, then just move them out of the way when you're done. They have 10 or so craft beers on tap and a full bar. We had the opportunity to sample a couple brews and we both enjoyed our beer choices and the food. Prices were fair, and tax is included in the menu price. I really want to shout out our bartender/server. Didn't get her name but she had round glasses with eyeglass chain attached and was on the shorter side. She was very customer focused, answering all our first-timer questions, attentive, appropriately conversational, and definitely on the ball as she was handling tables too. Top notch service. About those railings: unless there's a special back entrance, the venue may not be wheelchair accessible. There are two or three steps at the entrance, and if you want the bar instead of booth or table, another three or four. Both have sturdy solid handrails. I do not fault them for this; probably the historic building is exempt, but just wanted to note it for anyone needing that info. All in all a five star experience and I hope to return soon.

Character-rich atmosphere with a brick arch inside and a beautiful historic back bar. I'm a bourbon drinker, so didn't try the beer, but was very happy with my Old Fashioned. There were no customers but it was a bit in-between meal times. I had to speak in an extra loud voice to be heard by the woman behind the counter. It really was noisy for some reason, perhaps the air conditioning. I ordered an 11 inch original sub and an iced tea, with a coupon for the sub for $5.99. Drinks seem expensive, but they come with refills, and she brought 3 to the table before I left the building. I was surprised to find that tables hadn't been cleaned. I know that an empty dining room doesn't mean that they have no business. It just looks a bit undone when tables haven't been cleaned. The sandwich was ready quickly and the tea had been at my table for a while. The first thing I noticed was how sloppily the sandwich had been assembled. Some of the meat was about to fall out but the cheese was holding it together. It was good, but I always wonder about the reason for the pizza sauce. Is it for the extra zing or is it to hide the ingredients? I'll go with the extra zing for now. Of course, when a sandwich is messy, I assume that it will taste even better and it didn't disappoint. It was tasty and messy and I needed multiple napkins. I could say that the meal was really expensive, but the sub was big with lots of bread, which was toasty/crispy in a good way. I'd say half of it is enough for most people at a sitting. So, as two meals or splitting it with a second person, it's not a bad deal. As I usually say, the coupon helps at Pizza King.
