Owner Kyle welcomed me to a bar seat and noted the $10 Special chicken plate w/2 sides; then I saw the beers on tap & realized the BACKFIELD is doing it RIGHT in the sticks of Iowa The menu has 3x more items than I woulda' expected. Large cutlet, real mashed potatoes, not powdered. And the appetizer offerings makes this a favorite place to eat. And they do have a 10 per cent veterans discount. Roomy, attentive wait staff and darn good music to listen to when eating there.
