The Buck Snort - Taco salad

The Buck Snort

Order and pay for your meal. A table number will be given to you. Pick a table, display your number and a food runner will bring your meal. Soda and water are self serve. The cashier will give you a cup. My taco salad was fresh with a mildy spicy salsa and sour cream on the side. Tater tots are crispy! I am told the beef brisket 'needs something' but not sure what. It is sliced beef, not shreded and is lean. A dining room is on the left of the entrance. A bar w/dining on the right. Two single restrooms are at the back, past the soda machines. One of them has a diaper station. Everything was clean and the cashier was pleasant.

The burger consist of 3 of their regular menu burger stacked on top of each other and surrounded by a pound of waffle fries. The burger were all really good, although a big more cooked than I usually perfer, but I don't blame them, because I didn't come out and specify how wanted them cooked. Swamp Donkey Burger - 1/3lb beef burger topped with beef brisket, cheese, onion rings, and BBQ sauce. Monster Buck Burger - three 1/3lb beef burger patties w/ 3 slices of cheese and 3 bacon strips and the Non-Typical Buck Burger - 1/3lb beef burger topped with pulled pork, American cheese, mozzarella cheese sticks, and BBQ sauce With 30 minutes to finish, completion rewards the challenger with a free meal and a Buck snort tshirt. The staff was great and supportive and made the quick meal a pleasure. If I find myself near another Buck Snort restaurant, I'd gladly stop back for a regular meal

Had an opportunity to attend an event at Pizza King this week. It has been a while, the building…read morehasn't changed much in years, but it's well maintained. Dedicated parking allows for easy access. Imagine my surprise, arriving early to help with event set up and discussing the layouts of the room I encountered an exceptionally cranky and dismissive person. It was made crystal clear to me that we could not move a table four feet to allow for registration of the door to the private room. I was even more surprised when I found out that this person was one of the owners! A couple of employees that overheard the conversation confided that this is typical behavior and they don't really pay much attention to it. I have news, I don't get paid to be there, I pay to be there. Shortly thereafter this fun chat, I had the opportunity to meet the manager, who indicated that if they had known that the room was going to be used for the type of event we had that they never would've let it be used, even though it was a slow day in the middle of the week. WOW! Fortunately, two of the wait staff were exceptionally helpful and made great suggestions that helped us to facilitate an event that required some flexibility. Honestly, if it hadn't been for the two folks helping us out in the room, I don't know how we would've made it through the evening - very stressful. The pizzas were typical and basic ones were reasonably priced, as were hors d'oeuvres. Soft drinks were rather expensive at $3.50/person. Overall, my takeaway is that I will never, ever bring my business to this operation again until there is a change of management and ownership. I think it's time for a change.

The bar has anything and everything you could ask for. The large menu has it all. The prime rib, the crab legs, great salads and Fabulous pizza. I am in love with the pizza here. The crust has the crunch and the chew that I like. The sauce has great flavor and the list of toppings has it all. Every server that we have encountered have been Amazing. Each of of them are always professional. I highly recommend Pizza King. Oh, Calamari. Get the Calamari it is delicious.

Pizza Ranch - For dessert, make sure you try Cactus Bread - warm cinnamon streusel with a swirl of icing.

The pizza was all but burnt. The ambience of the place reminded me of a dentist's office with a…read morewagon wheel. It's too commercial/industrial with zero character--just kind of cold. It's very clean inside though and the salad bar seemed fresh and great. It's sad they haven't yet figured out how to cook a pizza without it browning down like a 3 year old trying to roast a marshmallow over the campfire. We've tried this location several times since it reopened and it is just miserable every time (with the exception of the salad bar). If you do dare to try it, don't come after 7. The buffet closes at 8 but they don't make anything after 7. We got there just before 730 and nothing but the old burnt pizza dregs were left out and whatever chicken and runny mashed potatoes. A few pieces of dessert pies, runny ice cream, and the salad bar finished it off. The kicker is that they start vacuuming and cleaning already by then so you've got the loudest vacuum in existence going on while you try to extract what little joy might be in your gas station leftovers quality pizza. The service was fine and the people seemed very nice. We ordered one custom pizza but it came out to the table pretty burned for a pizza. I wouldn't have been able to tell what kind it was if I hadn't ordered it myself. The pizza wasn't quite burned black, but if it were a person, you would have needed dental records to identify it. The salad bar was the only good thing, however, you need really long arms to reach half of it. They have it against a partition so access is only from one side. The guards are so low you have to squat down and fully extend your arms to reach the stuff on the back row. I felt like I was noodling for catfish in the river banks. I'm not sure how this helps with cleanliness or food safety when people's arms are mere centimeters or less from all the other salad items. Needless to say we won't be going back to this pizza ranch again.
