Stopped here after a mid race in Gray, Iowa for a tenderloin since it was on the 2021 tenderloin trail 2.0. Place was fairly busy when we got there. Couldn't help but noticed all the stares we got as not being drom this small town. Food was good and prices were cheap. Wait staff was friendly.

Best tenderloin s around. Service hit or miss but the pork tenderloin really does live up to it's billing.

Small mom and pop style diner in a metal building. Staff was friendly and food was good. Locals have never seen an out of towner apparently. Looked at us like we had fallen in the pig pen. Ignore them and enjoy the small town feel of this place. Don't forget to save room for the homemade pie. Delicious!

Tenderloins, mashed potatoes and creamy corn! ;-)

Oh my, what delicious chops you have! This is the local home cooking I've been looking for in Iowa. Everything is very simple but done very well. The tenderloins i had just fell off the bone, the cream corn was like nothing I've ever tasted before and the mashed potatoes are basic Idaho potatoes which are mashed with gravy on top.....simple and delicious. I also had the rhubarb pie ala mode. I have never had rhubarb before and this little place just did them perfectly tart and sweet! And with $1 dollar beers, how can you go wrong! This isn't your fine dinning nor your shi-shi food, this is your local down to earth local eatery that everyone strives to find for an authentic, middle of the corn field, Iowa experience. Everyone knows each other here and is very friendly. Bon Appetit...winning the hearts of food lovers one tummy at a time!

    Great little food stop...

Great little spot, glad we found it on our family road trip, get the pork tenderloin sandwich....

Soooo delicious! The pork tenderloin was everything we thought it would be!!! Iowa comfort food at its best! If it's on the day's menu, don't leave without having a piece of the butterscotch pie - the crust was so flaky too!

Best hand cut and breaded pork tenderloin in Iowa

Definitely will be back for a Friday Fish Fry, which seems to be their most popular night of the week. Our server was very kind, I forgot his name but maybe Cory??? Pickle chips: good, piping hot and served with ranch. Cheddar balls: they were good, also piping hot and served with ranch. Grilled chicken salad: this was a very good, simple salad. Shredded cheese, spring mix, good chicken, eggs and tomatoes, it's a very basic salad but plentiful. Very fresh. Taco salad (no shell): also a fresh salad and plentiful, no chintzing here! Tomatoes and onions came on the side (which is why it looks basic in the pic). Philly: very good, hot and no skimping on toppings. Big boy was happy with this sammy. Tenderloin: we liked this one because it wasn't super thin, and wasn't overcooked like so many are. Great flavor, good portion, crinkle fries...who doesn't love a good, hot crinkle fry? Chili and grilled cheese: the only so so dish we had. Chili lacked flavor, no chili powder taste, more like tomato soup. Grilled cheese was warm, not hot, so it was just ok. Homemade chocolate cake: very tasty, not super sweet, and a large slice. Very inexpensive place, nothing fancy but totally worth the drive! We had a great time taking a family drive just to try a new place outside of DSM. We will be back for a Friday fish fry!

We were just here a few weeks ago and I am so bummed to see they permanently closed!! We came during lunch and took advantage of their weekday lunch combo (Tues-Fri, 11am-2pm), which includes soup and a half grilled cheese. You can choose from the OG, Kick in the Cheese, or Fancy grilled cheese, plus either tomato basil bisque or the soup of the day. Honestly? A dream setup. I ordered the tomato basil bisque with a half OG grilled cheese, and wow... just wow. The soup was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, and the grilled cheese delivered that classic, beautiful cheese pull moment you hope for (and rarely actually get). The cheese had the perfect amount of sharpness and subtle bitterness, balancing everything out so well without being overwhelming.. I seriously could go for one right now! Every bite was comforting and delicious, and I immediately wished I had ordered a full OG sandwich because it was that good. The combo was mouth‑watering, satisfying, and wildly exceeded expectations for a quick lunch stop.

I have visited twice, and have been impressed by their efficiency, timing, and pricing. Plenty of free parking on site. Lots of seating inside. I have enjoyed their Chicken Caesar wrap and their Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap, both with terrific taste, made to order, and plentiful. I explored more of the menu and have a lot of other things to try. I also enjoyed their homemade soup and their cookies.
