For my wife and I, some of this menu was a throwback to our 1970's days...Ham Steak, Hamburger Steak, Crispy dinner Hash Browns with onions and Cheese, a solid salad bar, and super reasonable prices. Full bar with my Tito's Cocktail at $4, and my wife's bottle of beer just $3.50. Salad bar had lots of salads...shredded iceberg with lots of dressing options, including a solid Blue Cheese. They also had potato, macaroni, pea, pasta, and other salads. The hamburger steak and wedge potatoes were very good. The hash browns were great, and my sirloin steak was very good--I added a bit of salt, and it was cooked just as I ordered it. The hot bun was a nice touch. Nice bar and lots of table seating. I've been meaning to give this place a try for quite some time. I finally made it there for dinner with my brother & father. Cliff's was a little of a drive for us, it was super easy to find located on a very nice Main Street. There was parking on both sides of the street. We walked in & were greeted immediately by the VERY FRIENDLY staff. It didn't take long for our server to attend to us. She was super friendly & very attentive! We haven't had such good service like this in a long time. She took our drink order & gave us a minute to decide. She made suggestions of what was good, noting that the tenderloin was an award winner in I believe 2023. So that's what my father & I had. He had a salad with this & I had onion rings. My brother had the hamburger steak & fries. It didn't take very long for our food to arrive, not too slow & not too fast, time enough for us to have most of our beers. The beer selection was limited and simple. They have a bar with alcohol. My brother had a Jim Beam & Coke. He said that it was mixed right, not too strong or too weak. The waitress zipped by our table frequently to chat & check on us while waiting for our food. That was really nice. The place was a little noisy, but not so bad we couldn't have a conversation. Our food came out hot & fresh. I definitely know why they won an award for their tenderloin. It was one of the best ones I've ever had & I'm looking forward to going back to have another one! The onion rings were outstanding too. I was very satisfied with my meal. Our bill came to around $66 before tip. We left a pretty good tip because our service was outstanding. While in Manning, you should definitely stop at Cliffs Place. It has a nice old school diner charm. The staff was very friendly and the lunch prices were reasonable. My friend and I both wanted to try the tenderloin and the cheeseburger, so we split them and shared a side of cheesecakes. You can never go wrong with cheesecakes. Good food, good service. Clean and roomy. They're pork tenderloin is very good, as well as the classic cheeseburger and fries.

My husband and I order take out from Cliffs often. It's always really good! Their chicken, steaks, burgers, salads, pork tenderloins, are our go-tos. The worst thing is sometimes they forget a roll or your sour cream, but not always. I've only actually physically eaten there in the restaurant once, and the service was kind of slow but that was partly due to the fact they were so busy. read more

The food was very good as was the salad bar. Just don't expect good service if you go there. My son's 4 piece chicken turned into a 2 piece chicken while he waited 15 minutes for the other 2 pieces that they forgot. Then to top it all off, one of the pieces was bloody inside! To make matters worse, when I told the cashier about the blood, I did not receive an apology whatsoever. In fact, she acted like I was trying to get a free meal. I just wanted them to be aware!! When we first sat down we noticed the table was sticky. We asked the waitress to wipe down the table, her reply was that it was 30 years worth of dirt and no matter how much she wiped it down it wouldn't clean up. My wife used the restroom before we left and was able to see the kitchen; she was disgusted at what she saw. The salad bar had very poor selection, the quality of our food was terrible. If this restaurant was in a bigger town or city it would fail easily to competitors, not to mention that a more thorough health department would probably take issue with its cleanliness. In all fairness, their kitchen and tables could just look disgusting because of age but maybe acceptable health wise. Cliff's is a family owned and operated restaurant/bar. The food is very good. Love, love, love the broasted pork chops! Their salad bar is also VERY good. If you go, you *must* try the cheese dip and crackers on the salad bar. My very favorite thing. They have really good, homemade soup on the bar, too. I also love their pizza pockets. I know, I know. But they take me back to being in high school going to Cliff's on the weekends with friends!
