Had a wonderful visit here and the food was great. Jaia was our server and was phenomenal.

I am a sucker for a trucker. This place makes an awesome trucker (roast beef, mash potatoes brown gravy on white bread) sandwich. I have eaten a lot of these and this one was spot on. The bread was wonder type, super soft amd slightly sweet, the meat was tender and chunky and the potatoes were just firm enough. Service was quick and friendly. I would recommend. read more

Skillets are taken from the deep freeze and thawed over an open fire from the wood burning stove. If you run out of cream and sugar and have to get some from another table a light will fall from the ceiling and smack you in the head to give you a concussion, maybe they could lower the tables so you don't hit your head. Kids drinking coffee run around in the back unattended. Slot machine doesn't even work. Instead of ice melt they place larger chunks of ice on the side walk so bring your mountain climbing gear. I noticed the chef sample my food and then spit it back on the plate to make sure it was up to par. Patrick Swayze impersonators. Bald Hippies, and old ladies in the smoking section make for a good time. Some of the best amusement park rides in the state even though most are shut down. 0 fatalities. Pretty good food. Never again. Cold food, colder service. When the waitress dropped off my food she asked, "now is there anything else?" It was then that it occurred to me that she wasn't coming back. And she never did. It's hard to mess up scrambled eggs, but they did. Hash browns were ice cold. I could deal with the eggs but couldn't eat the potatoes. The cashier brought my check about 15 minutes after I pushed the plate away, so I picked it up and brought it back to her at the register 10 feet away. Weird. She asked if everything was ok and when I told her my home fries were cold. Her response was, "we don't serve home fries ". Really??? Instead of asking if I meant hash browns..smh. Then of course no apology was offered. I'll never go back. All I wanted was a simple hot Sunday breakfast. read more

I jokingly call it family table scraps. The food has always been hot and when it's the only place open we have gone here. It's tolerable. We have had a lot of good conversations here. Since we don't do snow removal anymore we hardly set foot in the place. They have decent people trying to support a family like anyone else. I would come here before McDonald's. Which is one of my fast choices. It's not bad food at all, just not great. read more

Ate a late lunch on Sunday September 30, 2018. Just a typical small town diner. Lacking any sense of creativity, the menu has a limited variety of entrees and sides. The prices, for both the food and the (lack of) ambience, are high. Seems to be a run by absent owners who leave running the place to high school students, this is definitely not the place for a first date or special occasion. read more

My Family visited today December 30, 2022 and we sat ourselves. Waitress came with menus and asked us what we'd like to drink. Took a while to get that and 15-20 minutes to try to place our order. Waitress very rude. It was like we didn't exist. This was the Carroll, Iowa location. read more

Horrible! Tried a 2nd time and no such luck!! Walked in and waited to be seated.. no one acknowledged us standing there, so we walked out and went somewhere else to eat! Never again!! read more
