We got there about 7 pm on Friday night and it was reasonably busy, though most people were already eating. There were several open tables, but only a few were clean, so we found one and sat. Things started off well enough--the server was friendly, told us about the specials, and brought us each a water right away. We ordered our food, and I had ordered mine without onion, as well as a salad. The order took a while--which again, Friday night, somewhat busy, so that's ok. When the food arrived, it was not good. My entree had tons of onion, and even though I removed them, it still tasted very onion-y, as something covered in grilled onions tends to be. It was also not hot, at all, and my fries were not hot as well. My mom had fish with hash browns, and her fish was somewhat warm, but hash browns were not. Not sure how long our food sat after being done, but obviously quite a while. My salad, which arrived at the same time as our meal, had no dressing, and we needed to flag down our server to get it, as she never stopped back at our table to check on us. I ended up not eating most of my entree and just eating the salad. We were very disappointed as we had been really looking forward to the meal, and I feel like if the food would have been prepared correctly--and served hot--it could have been great. Unfortunately, I don't think we will take the chance again.

My mother-in-law has been begging us to try Soak'd, so when we came to visit for the summer, we knew we had to make it happen. The atmosphere at Soak'd is what I imagine it would look like if a bar, a concert venue, and a Bennigan's had a baby. There are huge television screens, plenty of seating, a space for live music, a gorgeous bar, and a staff that makes the environment feel incredibly welcoming. I love that it offers so many different ways to enjoy the space, whether you're there for a meal, drinks, or entertainment. Now, onto the food! Per the recommendation of my mother-in-law, we ordered the Imma Fun Gi, Dairy Dice, Fry Basket, and a half-and-half pizza with Mississippi Pot Roast and Chicken Bacon Ranch. Imma Fun Gi (10/10) - Let me start by saying that I DO NOT like mushrooms. So when I tell you that I practically devoured this entire basket, please understand how serious that is. They were crispy, delicious, and paired perfectly with the ranch. I originally thought I would have maybe two, and somehow ended up eating almost the entire basket. I am proudly the reason we had to order another. Dairy Dice (10/10) - These are dangerous, and I mean that in the best way. You tell yourself you're going to have one, and all of a sudden you've had ten. They were SO good, especially dipped in ranch. Fry Basket (10/10) - I love ANYTHING potatoes, so an entire boat of them? Don't mind if I do! Every bite was crispy, seasoned well, and incredibly flavorful. Mississippi Pot Roast Pizza (10/10) - As a fellow lover of pot roast, I was both excited and a little nervous to try this. I wasn't entirely sure how the flavors would translate into a pizza, but I was pleasantly surprised. The execution was excellent, the meat was delicious, and the flavors practically melted in my mouth. I also loved that we could order this as half of our pizza rather than having to commit to an entire one. Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza (10/10) - A classic, but one that was executed beautifully. The flavors were rich, delicious, and present in every bite. I love when a restaurant can take something familiar and still make it feel special. I also want to recognize the brick oven and the freshness of the food. You can really appreciate the preparation and care that goes into the final product. Overall, I completely understand why my mother-in-law was so adamant about us visiting. Between the food, atmosphere, and wonderful staff, Soak'd was an excellent experience, and I can certainly see this becoming a regular stop whenever we're visiting family!

RIP Bree. Team Spin and K'moniwannaleiya started here, and the pub clearly welcomed the group and gave them room to set up, sell shirts, and say a few words in her honor. That says a lot about the place. We did not eat here, but they were obviously prepared to serve a lot of cyclists. Drinks were reasonably priced, service was solid, and everything seemed to be moving well even with a big crowd. The indoor/outdoor setup is a huge plus, especially in the summer. There was plenty of room for people to gather, spread out, and still feel like part of the same event. The front of the place says, "Come as strangers, leave as friends," and for this kind of bike weekend stop, that felt pretty accurate.
