Food is okay. Had the same drink from the time we sat down until we left an hour later. Not that great customer service.

We were pleasantly pleased and impressed! Dreamy Victorian/country decor and design. It's spacious and has a neat history! -Interesting use of closets to create bathrooms too! Lynne made us feel at home. She welcomed us at the door upon arrival, gave us a tour, we visited a little, then she gave us our privacy to enjoy. We had a loosely-planned schedule that took us to Ida Grove for wine tasting, a terrific meal, sight seeing and some hiking.  In the evening, we made a point to spend time on the porch at the B&B to sip some wine in some pleasant June weather. It was relaxing! Lynne, knowing these plans from our conversation upon arrival, was so thoughtful and left out two wine glasses along with a corkscrew to open our bottle of wine that evening. Breakfast on Sunday morning was delicious and delightful at a table next to paned windows overlooking the side yard.  We couldn't have been happier! We now have an amazing memory that we will share and tell for years to come! We think the price was very affordable! In fact, we plan to come back in the fall. We highly recommend the Inn at Battle Creek!

A nice place. Service was some of the best I've ever had. Food was solid, but not the best. I will…read moresay that I think it is as good as I expected it to be, but I always hope it'll be better thus I am not leaving a 5-star review. Fried pickles spears with the rock n roll sauce were great. I wouldn't have ordered these except my server recommended them out of all the apps, so I went with that. Fried things at places like this usually lack flavor and are just salty, fried bar food. These had some kick. The rock n roll sauce was like a Mayo with Frito's Chili Cheese Twists, so they were yummy. Tilapia on wild rice was ok, but it's tilapia, so how amazing can it be, right? Broccoli wasn't too over cooked and it still had a healthy green color, so I was happy with that. And the fries were a tad greasy, but they came out hot and crunchy. I think if they let the oil drain off them a bit more under a heat lamp, they'd hold their crispness a bit longer. Oh, and it was an entire plate of fries, so portions were generous. Lastly, everything was served very quickly. The place wasn't super-busy, but it wasn't dead and I was happy about the timeliness. I ordered an app first then placed an order for my entree after munching on that. And I was out done in 45 minutes. Granted, I was eating alone, but still. If you enjoy meat, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. I am a pescatarian (mostly vegetarian) and I have a sneaking suspicion that their beef and chicken options have much more developed flavors.

Great food great drinks, great owner, great service! Will be making it our "go to" place when…read morewe're in Sheldon!@

A small family owned shop the aroma of good mexican food hits you before you can even step a few steps in. Adorned with beautiful art and photos and red and white tables, chairs and floors, you already know you're going to get a good meal before you order. Personally, my favorite part of the experience is the note pad filled with orders from throughout the day and the fridge with an assortment of Jarritos waiting to accompany my meal. The staff is always incredibly friendly and the food is always delicious. We ordered the Carne Asada tacos and a Chimichanga with rice and beans. Carne Asada Taco Plate - 10/10 the steak has such good flavor, even before you add the sauce to it. I love how fresh everything tastes and the huge amount of flavor they pack into every bite. Carne Asada Chimichanga - 10/10 the tortilla was friend to perfection and added the perfect crunch to every single bite. La Jua's is truly a hidden gem in a world full of restaurants that have lost their flavor.

If you are nearby I would recommend if you love real Mexican food. I don't have any pictures but I got a burrito with carne asada and tacos with lingua. Then I got a burrito with lingua and one with carne asada to go. The agua fresca de Jamaica was good as well as the pinapple. The horchata was watery and not good, and that is the only complaint I have everything else was amazing. The portions for the drinks are very generous.

We shared hush puppies, a fresh and flavorful salad, and a variety of oysters--everything was delicious. My husband ordered a coffee-flavored beer and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was, and I enjoyed a perfectly made lemon drop. Such a great spot to relax and refuel. We'll definitely stop by again next time we're in Omaha!

Plank has, unfortunately, announced they will be closing at the end of 2025, and while I did enjoy…read moresome of their food offerings, I can't say I'm super surprised. They definitely have/had some pretty high prices compared to other eateries in the area. I'm not sure if that is caused by cost of goods or location or what, but I think that did come into play when a lot of economic hardship is happening all over. Like I mentioned above, I DID like their food, but it definitely had to be a special occasion type of thing, due to the high prices. When we did go, I LOVED the Maryland Crab Dip. It reminded me of my favorite crab dip in the world, at the SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta. We also had the Green Bean Almandine that was on special last time we went and that was pretty good, but you have to be a green bean fan, for sure. I decided to try the sushi as my main dish last time, and had the Everything Crunch Maki, which consisted of cooked salmon, jalapeño, and cream cheese. It was pretty good, and had a little hint of spice to it from the jalapeño, which cut the heavy cream aspect. My husband had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon for his entree, and gave me a few bites. It was cooked well and the mushroom risotto below it was very flavorful and filling. The cute nautical ambiance and excellent service were always appreciated, so no complaints there either. I think if they had been in a different area with less expensive rent and cost of goods, I may have visited more often.
