Latte

Great quaint place that has some good coffee. They have different options to choose from. They have indoor seating upstairs and downstairs. Prices and services were good!

I really love this coffee spot! Friendly staff and hella good coffee. My short trip to Portland started with them and gave me a great impression of how hospitable Portland is. I can't wait to go back!

Iced Jasmine Matcha Latte

I got the jasmine matcha latte and it did not disappoint! It was a warm day for Portland so I opted to get it iced. Great flavor! Everyone else in my party enjoyed their drinks and even commented on how good the matcha was! Quick service and they weren't too busy. Cute little coffee shop to kill some time at while waiting to eat brunch next door.

Quick stop for coffee! - Had their cafe con miel which was pretty good! Would give it a solid 8.5/10! - Service is friendly and helpful! - Looks like a great place to hang or study and do work! Pretty hip. - Need to street park Great place overall for a quick coffee!

Bourbon Vanilla Latte and Pumpkin Bread

We have been dreaming about returning to this Case Study since we first visited in the summer of 2023. In October 2024, we spent a week in the Alberta district and thoroughly enjoyed walking to coffee from our AirBnB. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. While seating can be limited, we've been fortunate to share a spot at the community table or sit outside. The service was friendly and provided helpful information to hopeful locals. I love their Bourbon Vanilla Latte! The pumpkin bread slice was mahoosive and delicious with an autumnal crumble topping. We look forward to returning soon. Even better would be to have this Case Study as part of our daily or weekend ritual.

This was my first time in the area, and I'm already obsessed. It's totally walkable and absolutely gorgeous--you could grab a coffee here and just stroll around. Plus, it's right near a Whole Foods, which is kind of a vibe. Now, onto the coffee shop itself. It's so cozy, and there's actually a whole second section with extra seating. If it's packed, you can always ask to sit with someone--the people here are super friendly. The whole space is just beautiful, filled with plants, which makes it feel extra inviting. I got the chai, and let me tell you, I am a chai snob. I've had way too many chais that taste nothing like the real thing, so I was a little skeptical. But this one?? Perfectly spiced. Honestly, it's as close to an authentic chai as you'll get from an American café that mainly does coffee, and I really appreciated that attention to detail. 10/10 recommend coming here, whether it's a gorgeous day for a walk or even a cozy rainy day--this spot is a whole experience.

My wife purchased a decaf latte here. It is so creamy and good with an excellent flavor. The decor here is really cute, they have bench for waiting on the lower level and seating upstairs. The service is quick and efficient with the weekend line ending. Street parking is in the surrounding neighborhood.

Such a great little coffee shop, the staff are always so friendly and the coffee is ready fast.

I wanted to like this place, but this place is just too busy for my taste. The staff was nice and I can tell that they are working hard, but the coffee taste wasn't the best for the price that I paid for. I ordered a cortado and it tasted like burnt espresso. It's a place to go if you are in a rush for a coffee, but I prefer to have a more relaxed vibe and not rushed for my coffee.

Cinnamon Malted Maple Latte
Taylor B.

We met a friend at Case Study in the neighborhood after hearing they were well-liked and used Coava Beans! It seemed like a popular spot with many people stopping in or sitting for a drink and a pastry. We got a hot latte and a hot cinnamon malted maple latte - the barista mentioned it wasn't very sweet, but I found it to be quite sweet. Next time I'd ask for less sweetener, though the flavor was great. The hot latte was...not as great. It tasted almost entirely of steamed milk and had almost no flavor of coffee. We'd like to come back and try it again since we enjoy Coava beans and thought the maple one was quite good!

Such a beautiful space! I've been to their other locations, but really appreciated the look and charm of this one. It's got such a cozy vibe, and the lattes are delicious! Something that impressed me about their lattes was that the latte art lasted until the very bottom of the mug. How do y'all do that?!?!

Fresh, delicious, and vibey. I could end the review there. Staff were friendly and service was fast. Their fresh hazelnut really just sends the hazelnut latte to another level. Went on a Sunday morning and there were still tables available to eat or work in the loft area. What a nice ambiance to hangout in (: I understand the hype and think you should definitely check it out.

Hazelnut latte

I came here for some good coffee and this place did the trick! I treated myself to a hazelnut latte and it was perfect. I spent the better part of my morning upstairs, which had additional seating apart from the outdoor benches. It has a very cozy vibe, though I wish the furniture was a little more comfortable. The furniture reminds me of elementary school furniture, but I suppose that is the point considering the name of this cafe. Still, a little comfort doesn't hurt.

GREAT chai. Maybe the best in town. And friendly baristas which is a rarity in PDX. I'll be back.

One silky sip and BAM--there it was, just the faintest, flirty little wink of anise (not the aggressive red-vine-at-the-movie-theater kind, more like the sophisticated Scandinavian cousin who wears turtlenecks and reads poetry). It danced with the chocolatey espresso and the perfectly steamed milk like they'd been rehearsing this trio their entire lives. The foam? A cloud that clearly went to barista finishing school. The temperature? Hot enough to feel loved, not so hot I had to do the sad penguin dance while it cooled. And the vibe? I'm pretty sure time slowed down so my taste buds could send me a thank-you note. If you told me yesterday that black licorice belongs in a cappuccino, I would've side-eyed you into next week. Today I'm over here drafting adoption papers for this drink. Futura, you absolute sorcerers--take my money, my heart, and my previously held beliefs about flavored coffee. Five stars, zero notes, endless refills in my dreams.

I tried working from here but they limit your wifi usage to two hours, which is unfortunate since I would have stayed longer. The library is just down the street though. Black sesame chai - too sweet for my liking, and the cinnamon flavors in the chai really overpowered the black sesame. Grilled pork banh mi - pretty solid, but I do wish there was a bit more meat. Another nit was that the cilantro had long thick stems, which was hard to chew and pulled out of the sandwich easily.
