Jason brought in Dorian IN BLACK because the coffee is slinging on a Saturday (8 days a week...).

I chatted with the barista, he was super nice and had some time to chat, so talked coffee and what they were brewing, which was the house blend and a single origin, I asked for one of each. The single origin was light and fruity as I'd expect, nice acidity and a crisp finish, whereas the house blend, their Deviation Blend, had a stronger body and less acidity, but still managed to get in some good notes of dried fruit and a nutty flavor. Both were perfectly pulled, with nary a bitter or sour note to be found. All in all, a great little quick trip for coffee, a place I'd definitely go to again.

If this were a tv show, I'm sure someone would show up at the end of each month with a comically oversized check saying, "congratulations, you've gauged Portlanders' pockets for another month!" This isn't my first experience here. I've been a handful of times, averaging 2x/year (it's the closest place near my work). I've mostly kept my opinions to myself, except for the poor, unfortunate souls around me after I empty my purse for one of these drinks. But today, I was charged $7.50 for the smallest latte I have quite literally ever seen. I've included a picture of it next to my 12oz can for reference. There was nothing special about my drink. They charged a base price of $6.25, plus a $1.25 up charge for soy milk. Although, for the size of the drink, it looks like it has only a splash.

There are taxidermy animals throughout the space. It's got a little bit of a 60s feel with just the right amount of contemporary hipness. Just watching the barista work, I can tell that they put a lot of precision and care into each drink they craft. The barista was laser focused on measurements and all the details that go into making the best cup of coffee out there. Let there be no doubt: this place is no nonsense when it comes to cultivating the best coffee beverage out there. There's a nice retail area if you need to take anything to go. The pastry case is quite large and the options are plentiful. And the outdoor patio space is very inviting. Check it out! It's a nice respite along your stroll through the Alberta arch District. With fresh caffeine in hand, think about how much better your day could already be.

It did not disappoint! The black sesame flavor was very present but you also get that kick from the spices in the chai. It worked very nicely together. I also tried my husband's iced salted bac xiu which was the perfect combination of creamy and salty. Both were so good but I would say the salted bac xiu was a more approachable drink for those that are not used to the black sesame or chai flavors, which both can be quite strong. The mochi donuts were nice and fresh, perfect texture. We ordered two of each flavor but accidentally got shorted on one so luckily we caught it, just double check before you leave!

It was like 80% full on a Sunday afternoon. I got the Pandan Coconut Latte iced with less sweet and 2% milk. They have coffee beans to the side you can buy. It had good flavor but I couldn't detect the Pandan. I would have asked to have the drink remade but we were on a time crunch from the 15 minutes parking. There is parking across the street. There are doughnuts and free wifi. There are outlets near the door. Unclear if there are outlets throughout the rest of the sitting area. I would come back to try the Teriyaki Tofu with Spicy Mayo.
