    Comfortable and clean room
    Liz T.

From the first look out the car window when you arrive, I will be honest, it looks a little sketchy, but that feeling disappeared fast. Everything from the front desk help, to the barkeeper was perfect. Small businesses are expensive to build and I hope they succeed. I understand why some persons might think the gardens are overgrown, but once you realize that it's a wildflower garden, you can see the vision of what the owners are working towards. This is a non-chain motel, with a great location, comfortable and CLEAN rooms. The beds are very comfortable, everything was spotless. We had dinner in the bar (it had a fully stocked bar!), just nachos, but they were good.

    I just loved the decor

I put four stars for the cleanliness of our room, the property, and how kind and helpful the staff was. Our check-in/out was so quick and easy, which frequently doesn't happen at large hotel chains, and incredibly personable. Our room was very clean and put together. It's definitely an older building that could have a few face lifts, but the quality of our stay was superb. It's also located in an area that's easily accessible to IU campus and that Uber services. There's also a calm neighborhood across the street that was great to run in.

It's in repair not ready for anything no Laundry room no landscape its horrendous, weeds everywhere..... rooms dreary we had moldy room .... breakfast...coffee...bottles, of water, yogurt, cereal, donuts, bread, Shower water warm never hot... the people who cleaned the rooms very nice some were not so nice but we did tip the one who left us towels all the time good !! 58$ a night wha t else can I say... picks of the beautiful court yard I think they should change up the menu and get a laundry room and some breakfast and maybe some entertainment and then raise their prices... hey they did say under construction but OMG a this is war zone

This is a really solid 4-star hotel, and I think if they stick with the current trajectory it'll be a 5-star one soon! Why it earned 4 stars: The room overall is very clean, it has everything you'd expect (but no microwave, not a huge deal to me). They have eco friendly soaps and seem to care much more about being environmentally conscious than many other hotels of a similar price range. The soaps even smell amazing! The bed was comfortable, nothing too fancy but keep in mind most of these rooms are ~$60/night so if you expect a bed like a $200/night room would have, you'll be disappointed (and naive...). They have a nice selection of tea and coffee in the room. The bathroom is vintage- the tiles appear to be original and some of the fixtures as well. I love the vintage feel but I will add that in my particular room, the shower to bath valve didn't switch fully so the shower had half the water and the bath faucet had the other half. Surprisingly it didn't affect water pressure negatively, it was just a little bit loud. Not a deal breaker for me! A microwave would be nice but they have a mini fridge and that's more important to me than a microwave. Regarding breakfast, it's very simple. They had two types of cereal, some juices and milk, coffee, tea, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, and bagels/breads. They also had local coffee and a box of donuts from a local shop. Glad they're supporting some local businesses! They also had a compost and recycle bin which earns them many more bonus points. More places need to do that. They use real dishes and utensils- less waste overall and feels more homelike. Why it's not quite 5 stars yet: The two mugs in the room were a little dirty and I can't tell if it's just dust from linens or if they weren't washed well. It's a little gross but i didn't mind just giving a mug a quick wash in the sink, though some people may be really turned off by it. There was some hair in the shower and on the bathroom floor which is really really gross. There wasn't a lot or I may have called the desk but other people's hair is my worst nightmare! The thing about the shower and bath faucets not switching completely is a little weird because it's loud. The hotel is doing a lot of renovations right now and may get around to fixing it, who knows. The lobby is nice and the breakfast was good mostly. I wish they'd had a little bit more to choose from on the protein side of things but yogurt is close enough for now. The hotel overall seems very environmentally conscious but it was odd they had a bunch of single use plastic water bottles in the breakfast area. That's incredibly wasteful and most people are happy with tap water. For some reason they also put butter and cream cheese in tiny plastic cups and they didn't really put enough for a single serving in each so I ended up using three plastic containers for cream cheese on my one bagel. The little cream cheese packages other hotels usually have would be a little less wasteful just because there's more in them... Overall I was impressed and pleased with my stay. The people working were extremely friendly and the rooms and general vibe of the hotel are really great. It has a retro feel and I appreciate their eco friendly mindset. They still have a little ways to go before being excellent but I have faith they will get there soon. PS there's a lovely courtyard with bird feeders and gardens, and in the back you can see the Cascades park. A nice outdoorsy feel to it all.

This hotel should be shutdown. They claim to be a 1960's style hotel however that is not an explanation for rust dripping from the shower, the shower floor peeling, a crack in the wall, no closet in the room and steps that are cracking so badly they look like they are about to crumble away.

Really nice for the price lodgings in Bloomington, Indiana. Clean spacious room with a couch, super comfortable king bed, green tea choice by the coffee maker, lovely outdoor patio, not far from downtown and to top it off super friendly front desk service.

Would you drink from a cup sitting upside down on a motel room dresser?

The staff were very nice, and the hotel was clean, which earned a 2. That being said, it was one of the worst places we have ever stayed. The beds were like trampolines. Maybe they were trampolines. The HVAC sounded like a 747 at takeoff (every 15 minutes) No way was I drinking from a coffee cup placed upside down on a hotel dresser. The coffee maker had to be run 3 times before the water looked safe to consume. My husband needs a CPAP and the electrical outlets either did not work or were intermittent. I am glad he didn't die there. The breakfast could be described as a snack break. The infrastructure was in poor condition. It was 2 nights of almost zero sleep. We would have been better off to have slept in our car and eaten at McDonalds. I thought the reviews/ratings were much higher when I was booking.

Stayed here recently and overall had a solid experience. The hotel feels modern and well-kept, and…read morethe breakfast was definitely above average compared to most places. The eggs and biscuits & gravy were especially good--fresh, hot, and actually flavorful, which you don't always get with hotel breakfasts. The room itself was spacious, which we appreciated, but there were a couple of comfort issues. It tended to run a bit warm, and the thermostat didn't seem to cool down to the temperature we set. The air also felt pretty dry overnight. We had an accessible (handicap) shower, and while it was easy to use, it left about half of the bathroom floor soaked after each shower. That made the floor very slick, which was a bit of a safety concern. We also liked that the hotel had a pool, which is always a nice perk, but it was pretty small. Overall, a nice stay with great amenities and breakfast, but a few room comfort and bathroom design issues that could be improved.

Small food store in the front that was very reasonably priced. Rooms were clean, bright and well appointed. Didn't use room service but it was very clean and well dressed. Breakfast setup is typical for the chain and well stocked. Attendants did a great job every day that I was there and they were always cheerful. One drawback is that the gym is very limited. There is enough to get in a workout but the cardio gear is very dated. Overall, solid experience and I recommend this location for a short or long stay.

This Home2 Suites location is at the beginning of Downtown that is dog friendly ($75/stay for 1-4…read morenights and $125/stay for 5+ nights), The number of pets allowed is 2. Pet weight limit is 75 lbs., has free parking, complementary breakfast, free WiFi, has washer and dryers ($0.75 to use the washer and the same to use the dryer) on site and fitness center with pool available for use for guests. My husband, our little girl dog and I stayed here for 4 nights. Upon our first night of checking in, we were greeted by a friendly employee behind the counter, Sydney. We had our room on the first floor and the room was pretty spacious that had a fridge, coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, sink, sponge and mini dish soap. There was a sticker on the dishwasher that says the dishes are ready to use in there but when we pulled out a plate, it had food on it. I would highly recommend washing whatever dishes and utensils you pull out of here. Inside the shower is a shower gel and shampoo dispenser, which is nice. But there is no conditioner dispenser. There is a small bottle of condition on the bathroom sink counter, next to the small box of bar soap. Complementary hot breakfast is served between 6:30- 9:30 daily. I think this is where our experience was a bit lacking with the breakfast, as it was the same food items offered every day with no added variety. The food items available for breakfast included Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage, egg and cheese croissant sandwich, egg omelet with cheese, egg omelet with bell peppers and ham, bananas, oranges, green apples, cold cereal, oatmeal, non fat and low fat milk, non fat Greek yogurt and regular yogurt, make your own waffle, cold hard boiled eggs, white bread and bagels (with the ability to toast it and also provided with butter, jam, etc). I was hoping to see scrambled eggs, bacon/ sausage, etc. But it was still good enough for each morning. The gym (open 24 hours) was nice that had 2 treadmills, 2 elliptical machines, 1 bike cycle. There are also free weights and a machine that is multitask to allow one to do chest press, bicep curls, etc. There are 2 large flat screen TVs. There is also a water dispenser, a weight scale and plenty of sanitizing wipes available in the dispenser. Disposable headphones are available at the front desk for free upon request. The gym was clean on the days I used it (yes I am one of those people who like to exercise while on vacation) and the air condition was great to help cool me down during my workout. We were told that housekeeping was available upon request. We did not request for any while we were staying here. But I did see a sticker on the bathroom mirror that did say that they do housekeeping on the 5th day (but you can always request not to if you don't want it). With this hotel being dog friendly, there is plenty of grass available for your pet to relieve themselves and also a poop bag dispenser that was always full. Overall, I had a great stay here and would consider staying here again the next time visiting Bloomington.

My wife went to sleep before me, and so when I got into bed and was overwhelmed by the absolute stench of another human's body, especially on the pillow cases and at the top of the covers, which he must have tucked into his stank pits, smearing his sweat and cheap deodorant all over them. It was revolting. I've heard of hotels not changing sheets between guests to save time/money, but I've never been absolutely certain I've been subjected to that kind of filth. Until my April 2026 stay at this hotel. Since my wife was already sleeping (boy did she pick the right side of the bed) I didn't want to disturb her and waited until morning to complain. The person at the front desk seemed to think I was trying to get extra housekeeping (the hotel explicitly does not offer daily housekeeping; hell, they don't even always do it between guests!) and was distant with me about it, saying that "maybe" they'd be able to squeeze in my room today, they'd "do their best". This reaction is why I'm taking the time to write a review; things happen, maybe it was bad luck, but the nonchalant "eh, idk if we have time to change your sheets today" response sent me over the top. My bedding did get changed, but I would NEVER stay here and would warn anyone else to avoid it at all costs.
