We just did a Class 3/4 family white water rafting trip with Cascade this past weekend. We had Jared as our guide and it was the best white water experience we have had so far! Since it's early in the season, river level was high, fast and very cold. Jared navigated us perfectly and we had a blast and will come back for all day class 4 trip for sure. We also had two safety in kayaks with us the whole trip. Everything was super professional and we got suited up in wet suits and splash guard. It was my first time river rafting so I was a bit nervous but Im glad I did it. We booked the half day one for beginners. There were a ton of people in our time schedule, but they managed everyone well. It looks like it's about 6ish adults/raft + the guide. Be prepared to paddle hard depending on who's in your group. They provide life vests and a water jacket - the water is COLD in June. You don't need to worry too much about your glasses falling off, maybe your hat but all our sunnies stayed in place with no problem. We opted for the morning slot (100% would do it again). Benett brought the ENERGY at 9am. He gave everyone a speech about the area and safety tips - including what to do if you fall overboard. No one on our trip fell out unwillingly. They had a few spots for you to jump in and swim. We were lucky enough to get Benett as our guide as well. He let us ride in the front if we were brave enough to! I will be recommending this spot to anyone visiting the area- if there's a way to recommend a guide, I would recommend Benett as well. Thank you for making our trip memorable! read more

Our friends booked a river raft trip for the four of us with Cascade Raft & Kayak. They are located on 55 just north of Horseshoe Bend. You can book online. You park at their facility, which has lockers and dressing rooms, as well as food and drink. Everyone was very nice. You are fitted with a lifevest, offered the use of a splash guard pullover and water socks, and then taken by bus up to Banks to unload the rafts and start your trip. You get to help the guide move the raft from the trailer to the water. I'm detailing all this because this was my first river rafting trip. Our guide was Tucker, and he was the best! He fitted us with our lifejackets and splash guards, and then came and talked to the four of us prior to boarding the bus, giving a lot of valuable information. Once on the river, he was very good about explaining what to expect, and giving detailed information about each rapid and other landmarks as well. He was very knowledgable, friendly, polite, and engaging. Tucker made my first experience thoroughly enjoyable. My wife and our friends also enjoyed the trip immensely. I would definitely do another trip with Cascade Raft & Kayak! read more

Thanks Benett for being an amazing guide! We did the half day class 2/3 rapids, and it was super fun. Looking back on the footage, we definitely could've done the class 3/4 rapids because the video looks way slower than experiencing it in real time. Depending on your group, you may have to work harder on paddling, but really it's not that bad. I'm semi sedentary, and I'm not feeling sore after 2 days. The staff all have great personalities and they go out on the river multiple times a day, so they really know what they're doing. If we're ever in the area, we're definitely making the 50 minute drive out from Boise again. read more

Had a great rafting trip with Isabelle! The morning was a bit chilly and smoky, but the team gave out free jackets to wear with our life vests. The check-in process was smooth, and our guide was fantastic. They do give free coffee and lockers if you need to put anything up. They suggested taking off any wool or linen because if it gets wet, you'll end up cold. I would also suggest wearing some water shoes you don't mind getting wet. The level 2-3 river was fairly smooth and not scary at all. There were couple of mild drops, but for the most part, it was easy! If you've tried rafting a few times, I would suggest you try level 3/4. Will come back to try the higher levels! read more

10/10 recommend!! Our whole experience was amazing! We did the South Fork Main Payette afternoon tour and had THE BEST time! The entire staff is incredible! Austin is the bus driver and photographer and has such a fun energy. Jared was our raft guide and was so nice and super knowledgeable. We felt so comfortable with him -- my 13 year old was a little nervous to start, but was all smiles the whole time! Bryson was the safety kayaker and also extremely knowledgeable and comfortable on the river. Jake, Mac, and the other tour guides were also so friendly and all knew their stuff. We couldn't have been in better hands! The tour was thrilling and relaxing all in one! You had your down time, but when going through the class III-IV you get a rush. There are a lot of companies to choose from -- and while I haven't tried any others, I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone! read more

Cascade raft and kayak is highly recommended. They have a really nice property right on the river with a gift shop. Step inside the gift shop to check in for your adventure they will give you a pass for each person in your party to get on the bus. As long as you arrive about 15 minutes before your start time you should be fine. Any last-minute supplies that you need or a bottle of water can be purchased in the gift shop. They have super cute T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and other Souvenirs to take home. if you need a dry bag, a water bottle or assorted useful accessories for your adventure you might find them here. They have a bathroom and free lockers for anything that you want to leave behind. Once the bus is ready to load, you'll only have very limited options for restroom. If you're doing the 1/2 day easy rafting the bus will take you up to Banks where they will give you a safety briefing and then you'll launch into the river for your adventure. Each boat can hold about 6 to 7 participants and a guide. The guides are super invested in your enjoyment and safety. They will make sure you have a really good time and all you have to do is listen to what they tell you to do. This boating activity is not super strenuous, but you do have to be somewhat able-bodied not necessarily be super physically fit to do this activity. You will get an opportunity to go swimming alongside the boat at times, but you will have to be hoisted back up into the boat by somebody who is staying on board. If you choose just to stay on board it's super enjoyable as well. The class two and three rapids are mildly rigorous, but the guides will keep you paddling to a safe part of the rapid . This is the most excitement that you will get otherwise it's a very gentle ride over the course of 2 1/2 to 3 hours and the boat will end up back where you started. I highly recommend that first timers choose the half-day easy-going rafting. Ropes and Ziplines The ropes course we did in July is also an enjoyable adventure. Just like the boating you sign up on the website, fill out your waiver, go meet at the same location,check in, and get on the bus. They have a property that's privately owned and not open to the public they will drive you to on the bus. The morning that we went, there were 11 people participating (all of us were ages about 12 to over 50) plus we had +4 to 6 guides. The first thing they do when you get up there is they gear you up with a harness, ropes, and a helmet. Make sure you wear comfortable clothing that you can move in and that has zippered pockets if you want to bring your phone or keys otherwise leave everything behind in a locker. Athletic shoes or hiking shoes are a must. The guides wear backpacks with things in them so if you need water during the rope course in an emergency, they will have it. Once you're geared up, they have a small testing course that's low to the ground. Your group will run through the course for them to make sure you understand all the safety instructions and how to proceed. The course itself is about 30 to 40 feet up in the air. The tree canopy keeps it shaded. The platforms are open, wooden squares. There are cables everywhere and if you follow the safety instructions and stay clipped in at all times, you won't even notice how high you're up. You will be busy focusing on getting across bridges that are made of various materials such as wood, rope, or wire. You will need to be agile enough to climb ladders and pull yourself up. You're also going to need to have some upper body strength and a healthy amount of cardiovascular fitness. If you get to any point in the ropes course, and you cannot continue, they can lower you down to the ground. You can go at your own pace. They are very patient and will let you rest if you need to. If you are afraid of heights and are not sure how you'd do, I don't suggest this activity. There are definitely risks. If you can't be very careful and follow the safety instructions with clipping in to wires and locking your clips, over and over again, I don't suggest this activity. There will be moments when you're on the ropes course that multiple people will be sharing a platform. You need to be comfortable with the fact that you are so high up and the only thing that's holding you on if you lost your footing are your ropes and clips. You have to be diligent about the safety process. If this all sounds good, I highly suggest this activity. I'm a middle-aged Mom and I took two teenagers with me to do this and we had so much fun. By the middle of the course, It wasn't easy for me, but I made it through and ever since we've done this I'm daydreaming about when I can go back and do it again. read more

Vasek and Isabell were the bomb! Not only did they guide us safely (and hilariously) down the river, but they also made sandwiches so good they were almost my favorite part of the day. What really made the trip, though, was their banter, knowledge, and expertise (not to mention their patience with our chatty family). Vasek even took his service a step further, by calling his partner to track down the exact brand and shade of nail polish I was dying to know. My wife and I had a fantastic time. Our guide was excellent giving us time to enjoy the hot spring and jump off a large Boulder! We were fortunate to be on a day when they had only one raft of 6 people so we had things pretty much to ourselves. The lunch was wonderful; delicious deli sandwich, fresh cucumber, tomato, cream cheese w/salsa and crackers, and cookies for dessert. Did not go hungry. Portage of the raft around a dangerous water fall and up the embankment at the end is not for the faint of heart. It is work, so be prepared to do your part. Location: Wow first time to cascade and the river is absolutely beautiful. The location is amazing and located about 30 minutes past Boise. It was in the mountain and hill area and covered in trees. They have free lockers for guests to use during the trip which is amazing service. I bought my children's gifts from the gift shop children shirts were $14 and adults shirts $18. I also got a sticker for $3 a nice Clip for rope for $9.95, a postcard for 0.75 cents. I loved this place amazing service and quality trip. We had to check in at least 15 minutes before and hung out in the area for an hour before just watching people float the rapids. They also take professional photos and sale them if you are interested.! Fun: Whitewater rafting class 2/3 departure at 3:30pm. It was from 3:30-6:30pm. I loved the tour and timing for this time of the year. The weather was around 90 and the water felt pleasant. We were able to ride the Bull on most rapids meaning someone can sit in the front and let the water splash them or swim in between the whitewaters. The guides were profesional, knowledgeable, hilarious and amazing. The trip was dreamy and PEARL was our guide we really appreciate you! Scenery: 10/10 for the view omg it was just so green and lovely, we saw some cows on the hills and beautiful trees, rocks and the river was dreamy. I would recommend this place to anyone in for a thrill but safe pleasant fun you can take children 5 and up on class 2/3 and 12 and up on the class 3/4. The class 2/3 rapids is safe for kids, elders and a lot of fun get as wet or stay semi dry if you want. We jumped in and swam in between some rapids and it was beautiful the current is strong but they give you directions on safety of flowing down the river and getting back onto the boat! Intensity: I would say the class 2/3 rapids the main payette was mild or 4/10. I would take my 6 year old down with no hesitation. In my personal case my grandma in her 80s probably could not do it because it does require some athleticism and rowing for adults. I think their age of 5 years old is good there is a safe area for the kiddos to sit in the boat and they still get some splashes. The rapids were amazing we were drenched from head to toe. Pro tip: bring a towel, sunscreen, warm change of clothes socks and either change of shoes or flip flops or water shoes read more

The anxiety was building, the world started spinning, doing everything I could to stay on my feet....and that was before we even hit the water. Cascade Raft and Kayak was terrific. Very organized, accommodating, and the main facilities were great making everything worry free so you can focus on living through the events that would transpire over the following few hours. The guides were great. Entertaining, knowledgeable of the current River conditions, and mindful of reading the people in the boat on how adventurous we could get. They were our Major Payne of the water...killing is my business ladies and busi-ness is gooooood. They put you through white water hell. By the end it will feel like you had a nose job, got bronco'd by billy, slapped by a dog leg, fell down a staircase, and ran a slalom. At the end all the pain, verbal and emotional damage, and stress sending you into a whirlwind of vertigo will have you exiting the river with one exuberant ear to ear smile on your beat up mug of a face. I was so scared to do this! We did the all day South Fork trip and it was awesome. 100% fun because the guides do their job and do them well. We were told not only about the river, rapids and water but how to navigate it, what to expect etc. No surprises, no tricks just fun in the water! Jake was super awesome! When we had a boat in our group flip, the other guides jumped into action to rescue everyone. With the training they provided to all of us beforehand, we knew how to help and what to do. Awesome day!! Would highly recommend. Note- there is an area where you have to get out of the raft and hike up some steep rocks to get around a Class 6 rapid.
