    Level 3 Rapids!
    Wanda D.

We love floating The Boise River float yearly but felt we needed a little more than just 2 or 3 Level 3 rapids; so we decided to go next level and drive out to Banks, Idaho. After reading many reviews we decided to try out Bear Rafting Valley Company. Boy are we glad we did! We had a Blast!!! We had a party of 4. (2 adults and 2 kids). We are elderly and was a bit worried that it might be a bit too much...but the only problem we had is we couldn't stop smiling and laughing. There was a total of 7 on our boat. Our guide was a fun, very knowledgeable about nature, safe and entertaining man named Max. He kept us entertained the whole 3 hours. He even let our Grandkids jump out of the boat and swim. I was nervous when the grandkids did - but he said don't worry-I'll get them in the raft safely. There were several level 2 and 3 rapids that kept it exciting. We will definitely come again! The front staff is also very friendly and accommodating. I loved the fact that the drive was only 50 minutes from Meridian! Who knew this fun place was so close! We will definitely be back!

We had such a blast out there. Filip was an awesome guide! He made it super fun, was friendly, very knowledgeable, and took really good care of us all. Also the rafts and equipment were all in really good shape.

Half day rafting trip on the Payette river,

My friends and I did the half day rafting trip recently. The staff were amazing, especially our guide Payton. We all had a fantastic time! I highly recommend this company. They are a knowledgeable and fun group. I'm looking forward to doing the more advanced full day rafting trip next summer!

Galen an amazing river guide with great stories he shared. It was a great day.

Today, we went out on the Payette River with Bear Valley Rafting. Our tour guide was Galen, an amazing guy. We had an amazing time. The water was beautiful, the day was amazing, and the people who came with us were wonderful.

    Fun on the river

It did give us time to walk around and see the grounds. They have really clean bathrooms, nice covered sitting areas with tables and chairs and some with picnic tables, a changing room, a nice little giift area and cafe. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming to us. We were able to get a breakfast burrito (which was delicious) and just take in the beauty of the river. Once the traffic got moving, we loaded onto our bus with Owen, our driver, and Anna our guide. These two really made us feel welcome and we just knew we were going to have a great day. It was just my husband and I and another couple, Chuck and Marcia who were super friendly and it was great getting to know them throughout our day. Anna was simply a firecracker, so full of energy and positivity and funny too, that we were having a great day, just on the drive up to Cabarton Road. After our safety drill we were off. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous and we had time to take it all in and just float on down the Payette in between the "rapid" times. When we came to the rapids, they were GREAT Category 2 and 3s and we had so much fun. Anna then pulled out for lunch and put out this great spread of food, carrots with humus (that was oh soooo god I wish they sold it), crackers with cream cheese and salsa, pasta salad, apples and oranges slices, sandwich fixins and then cookies for desert. They even had a gluten-free brownie and glute-free bread fir ne which were both terrific. Anna's guide skills are wonderful and on top of that having to entertain us, abd fix us lunch, really demonstrates what a terrific work ethic she has and she does so with passion and a great attitude. It was a full day and we were exhausted at the end, but we had such a great time and can't thank Anna and Owen enough for making sure we had a great time and came home with such wonderful memories of this day. We are already looking forward to next season and coming back to do this same run again. After going through one other place when we did our first rafting excursion, we will definitely be coming back to THIS one from now on, and I highly recommend this company.

Ginger had to go out of her way to drive down river, beat us there, get into position, and take the pictures. Obviously that's a lot of effort, but the pictures came out great. Hunter, our guide, was just the coolest friendliest guy and made us all feel very welcome. Basically the vibes were just good and friendly and jokes were flying the whole time. I would highly recommend this place for anyone that's physically able to do it.

We've done many rafting trips over the years but this was the first time we've gotten suited up in a farmer john suit, water booties, and long sleeve waterproof shirt to combat the cold water. We have been in snow melt runs before so this was interesting but oh so great to be comfortable on the river. I was never cold and interestingly never too warm despite the layers. Sean follows the raft in a white water kayak to be a safety back up just in case and also snap some cool pics - also a first on a rafting trip and I thought it was awesome. Stephen did a great job navigating our raft and the collective group of us were all skilled enough to ensure we didn't tip over or fall out of the raft (except one person). We just loved it! We did the canyon stretch for 5 class 4 rapids in like 45 minutes. The trip felt like it went fast but it was so fun! Lunch was delicious, allergy sensitive which is always appreciated. It was nice to see this part of Idaho since we usually stay further south west due to where family lives when we visit. It was a treat to be on the rafting trip and catch some hot springs nearby and on the rafting trip. This river stretch includes Pine Flat hot springs but Kirkham is within a couple miles and part of a different run they offer as well. 100% recommend if you are looking for an awesome adventure with great people!

At the end of the float, Boise River Raft and Tube has a designated rented raft and equipment pick up spot, for easy dropping off of your equipment. It is nice not having to lug around the gear after soaking in the sun for a few hours. They also have a bus shuttle service which takes you back to the top after floating down to the bottom. Service is always great. The workers are friendly and have good knowledge on how to have a safe and fun floating experience. Pro Tip: For those not wanting to ride the bus back to the top and going in a group. Consider parking a vehicle at the bottom, piling into another vehicle, and then driving to the top. After you float down with your group, hop in the car at the bottom and pick up the vehicle at the top. Though the bus ride back to the top isn't anything to be feared and is a great option.

Glorious dry sunshine along a pristine river, chock full of excellent, thrilling rapids, surrounded by mountains, fresh air and that occasional wild life spotting (in our case, a bear, 2 bald eagles, mountain goats, one small bobcat, and countless fish). Jarrett has assembled an A-team of guides that go above and beyond with smart, responsible mentorship, showing you the ropes, educating you with stories of the land (geography and history) and they are very interesting too.
