Myself

As a newbie to snowboarding, I found this place perfect for beginners. The green bunny hill was just right for my skill level. Unlike the magic carpet, where you catch speed and then hit nothing, this hill was consistent throughout and not too intense. A great spot for beginners!

Cascade Mountain overall is a 3 star Ski Resort. To start off trying to park is horrendous because of there system they have in place, but once you walk in it's very welcoming. The food they offer is at best mediocre and you should probably bring your own food. The lift wait times at the main area are not worth it and I recommend going to the lifts on the far side near the tubing area. The mountains overall are fairly tall and long with multiple trails varying in difficulty, but there are some problems. These problem include, snow becoming super icy, to much snow in some areas, snow becoming slushy, and etc. Also I've heard complaints about the employees, but I didn't experience any of that. Overall this is a good Ski Resort for beginners and people with experience, but you might experience some problems with the snow quality.

The young man working the front desk was flat out rude and disrespectful to me and other customers in line. Room was not ready on time and the staff was getting annoyed that people kept asking m. Pool is nice but the rooms are outdated and falling apart. Lots of work needs to me done here. Tried to reach out to management with no return calls or emails.

Absolutely sad excuse for a ski resort. Make sure you buy tickets online even during non peak weekdays. Website will mislead you thinking you can purchase a lift ticket on site but they'll say they're sold out with 3/4 of the parking lot empty. In the 30 minutes I tried talking to someone no one came to the front desk. Then had a delightful experience with the little curly haired fire crotch in the line for the online services. He told me I was sadly mistaken if I think I could walk on day of at " the vail of the Midwest bruh". I walked out to my car to see that someone hit it and left. So not only did I get denied a lift ticket but my personal property was also damaged. I'd rather die a slow and painful death then to pay money at this shithole

Value priced snow resort one hour north of Madison, a cheap option to bring kids outdoors to enjoy sliding down the hill. Be sure to ask for your military discount to receive 10% off your Adult lift ticket. Bring your own food or suffer the cafeteria, not recommended.

This places food sucks! I usually don't write critical reviews but I am appalled at the obscenity! A small 4 oz container of grapes is $6!! The food is overpriced and disgusting! Don't come here, and if you do do not buy food that is not packaged! If I could give it a 0 stars I would!!!! I feel like vomiting now! Avoid this nasty cafeteria!

Loved this ski hill!! The only down side is the price. $250 for all day skiing for 3 of us but well worth every penny. Plenty of space for beginners to intermediate skiers with 3 lifts serving these hills as well as one small magic carpet to start up. Learned to snowboard here yesterday and the hills were reasonable enough that I could use 3 of the lifts even as a first time snowboarder. What was nice is that one lift serves access to easy, moderate and advanced slopes so I could ski/snowboard and ride the the lift with my boys who were upping the ante on the more difficult slopes. Bonus you can switch between skis and snowboarding as much as you want without additional cost...my favorite aspect

This place sucks! They closing the half of the mountain (left side with nicest runs) at 3:40pm! With only one high speed lift operating later. And still charging you $72! Rip off! FYI the runs are always icy cuz they DGAF about making snow Better go to Devil's Head just 20min away! They don't have high speed lifts (yet) but they are ALWAYS making snow for their guests and the prices are much better with better employees! Devils head one love!

Cascade is great. Awesome trails, nice lodge, professional and friendly staff. Make a weekend out of it and stay at one of the hotels in the area.

Ski instructor Jenna! She is amazing!

Wonderful mountain, but never purchase a gift card from them. They charge a $10 annual "maintenance fee" and steal your money.

The boys opted for snowboarding and, since it was their first time, we decided that it would be best for them to take lessons.

We ordered the fish fry with Mac and cheese and elote. The fish was amazing! Super crispy and fresh. They had a couple preparation options to choose from. The Mac and cheese was creamy and tasty however I wish they advertised it as spicy. Maybe I missed that but I was surprised it was! The elote was also pretty good. It was served with a roll and coleslaw. Plenty of food for the price! I would eat a fish fry here again!!

Being conveniently located from Madison makes it more easier to visit and practice, especially during the weekday when there are different specials going on! Parking is good with a overflow parking right across the street. Also to note, service is spotty there. I always rent equipment and have never had any big issues. Quality and upkeep is pretty good. The prices can get high on the weekends, but usually specials on the weekdays. This resort has no frills and extra fancy things, just a spot to do some shredding. The lodge is very snack and like stadium food setting. I will say depending on the season and snow trend, the slopes can get pretty icy, but overall the hills are well maintained. The 'beginners' slope is pretty good for practicing and you can get up and down fast with the conveyor belt railing. The trails in general are on the shorter side but are still challenging and diverse for all levels.

Damn, I really want to help out the little local guys in this impoverished area of the state, but…read morethey always manage to disappoint. Such is the case with this place. The exterior is reminiscent of umpteen dozen places in Montana that I've been to. The interior is Pure North of Hwy 8 rusticness...log walls, antlers, mounted fish, etc. for decor. Five stars for that. But...here's where things go wrong. The service is...forgettable at best. The drinks....eh...ok I guess. The food....nope, not again. Uninspiring, barely average, a 'Swanson Salisbury Steak Dinner is calling me' bad. Forgettable fish, frozen green beans, rice from a mix...just so barely average. Can't say that I'll be back. This entire part of the state is filled with places where the level of 'give a shit' is in the toilet. Bodies, going through the motions, no pride in their work, not caring a bit about anything but getting off work so they can get drunk on cheap beer and smoke cigarettes.

One was a bar/restaurant but unfortunately it is closed on Mondays & Tuesdays. The owners have been running this place for 40+ years and we're friendly and welcoming. They loaded up 2 comfortable/like new kayaks, life vests & paddles onto a trailer as we loaded a large van which led us to an easy entry river put-in spot just below the dam. The river was refreshing, crystal clear, and had a lazy current. We saw tons of wildlife, including deer, muskrat, a bald eagle, turtles, and lots of birds. It was a beautiful winding river. We crossed under bridges 6 and 7. The stretch from bridge 7 to 8 was challenging and required much maneuvering around tons of downed trees & tight turns. (I would suggest families take-out at bridge 7, as this stretch was not for the novice!) After around 4 hours on the river, Bridge 8 was in site. It was a bit more challenging taking out there, but the owners were there waiting for us. This was an outstanding trip & we'd do it again & again without hesitation!

The property itself is gorgeous. We really enjoyed the trails and love that our Baby Dog could join us. This review is for the Queen/Presidential Suite and Garden Suite building. The biggest issue is that one of the staff wasn't wearing a mask and (more than once) got closer than 6 ft from us to talk into our faces. Given she works in a facility with random guests coming and going, she could easily become a superspreader especially given that guests aren't required to wear masks in public buildings. At least four other guests came into the lodge without masks and talked over the self-service breakfast bar. If we hadn't been the first people at breakfast, no way we'd have eaten from that Grim Reaper buffet. Yikes! Even a beautiful location with tasty food can't totally make up for the increase in risk for getting COVID/myocarditis from non-compliance with common sense infection prevention measures! The room was fine, and the bathroom was good. There was no bar soap to wash our hands, and there was only one coffee pod and no creamer or sugar. There was no sound privacy either. Through the wall, we could hear perfectly the people next to us. I know their dog's food schedule and their family dynamics now. Lulz. I think this sound issue would be a moot point in one of the cabins. We ordered a fruit platter, veggie platter, and a bottle of wine. All were fresh and tasty.
