Not only was he very patient and helpful and helped me find what I needed to accommodate me and my kids.. he remembered my name after briefly going in there to look at cars the first time. The oil wasn't changed and we drove the car for a time brfore changing it. Immediately after changing, the car started using oil - adding 1 or 2 quarts a week. Our mechanic checked it and said he has seen this on many Kia and Hyundai cars. Over time, Robert said he has replaced 30-40 Kia and Hyundai engines. While looking at the car which we should've had him do, he found the front tires worn off in the insides and upon mesuring brake pads the fronts were gone and less than 2 percent left on the back pads. The upshot of all this is new brakes and tires for $1,700 and a replacement used engine for $8,750 - way more than we paid Platinum Auto. A word of warning: The Platinum lot looks nice with a lot of clean looking cars but they obviously don't do safety checks (cracked winshield, brakes, etc.). They didn't have service histories on this car and others we looked at. A real crap shoot if you shop with company!!! Go to a dealer that offers 90-day used car warranties with some decent mileage amount for your protection.

I will say I probably could have gotten my car for a bit cheaper elsewhere as my family recently purchased the same vehicle in better condition for cheaper at another dealership. I don't know if it just depends on the location as well, but I know where they reside in WA cost of living is more expensive than Olympia so I was bummed finding out that I paid a bit more. Once again, I'm no car deal so there may be things I just don't know! I will say it was my first time having to purchase a car so there are things on my end I should have done to have a better outcome with my used car in the future. While my car had no big problems when first purchased, a PPI would have likely shown me that my fuel pump assembly would end up needing to be replaced soon. That was almost $2000 to replace which is hard when you're still paying off your almost $10,000 loan. Once again, this is my fault as a consumer as I should have gotten a PPI prior to purchasing and you ALWAYS should when purchasing a used vehicle (it could save you thousands of dollars in repairs). Otherwise they have been great to contact whenever I had questions or concerns with the vehicle and always willing to help me. I'm pretty sure they said they are a family owned business and the father and two sons work there. They are SO sweet. I have nothing but kind things to say about this business and the fact that they explained every process and were patient with my millions of questions just proves to me they are good people. They truly are good guys!!

I was going through a divorce A newly single mom and was pregnant with my second child. I needed a safer car and They completely screwed me!! I had a 2005 Nissan Murano from them for maybe 3.5 months I paid over $4000 for it and have NOTHING from them now they saw my 9 month pregnant butt coming and they sold me the biggest piece of junk they could. Within 24 hours I tried to return it I took it to a mechanic and they told me it has around $1300 worth of repairs needed I came back to the lot in tears I was due in a week and they sold me a piece of junk! they PROMISED to help take care of anything that came up while I was making payments. Well I barely got to drive the thing because it was ALWAYS broken! It had over heating issues, I needed to install a new battery within a week then I couldn't even drive it to the hospital when I was in labor because it wouldn't start!!! It completely died on the highway with no warning or explanation just shut off! I called and they cleared a code only to have the same one come back so that it would die again a couple days later.. The windows would go up and down on their own. The back seat broke the very first time I laid it down. they said it was 'only cosmetic' & refused to help. a broken seat where my children sit is a SAFETY issue not COSMETIC. It had a Bad timing belt and many more issues. The last straw was when The ignition cylinder went out leaving my 6 year old and my barely 3 month old and I stranded in 100 degree heat. when I called them I only wanted to maybe to split a tow truck?? but the first thing they say "well what do you want me to do about it? You bought the car!" They're bullies and they're unprofessional. They jimmy rig the cars to drive long enough that you're stuck in a contract and you can't get any money back. Complete crooks. Never ever go here.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Car Stars. I purchased a Nissan Murano on June…read more29th, and by July 3rd--just a few days later--the transmission completely failed. As a single mother, I was very upfront about my concerns during the purchase process and made it clear I would only buy the vehicle if it was properly inspected and in good mechanical condition. During the test drive, I pointed out a concerning sound to Seth, the salesperson, who reassured me they had an on-site mechanic who checked all vehicles. The next day, my father spoke to Mike, another salesperson, who explicitly claimed there were no mechanical issues. Based on these assurances, I proceeded with the purchase. Days later, the transmission failed--something that would have been obvious to any qualified mechanic. I had to pay out of pocket to have the car towed back to the dealership, and I also paid the service tech to install a transmission. After picking the vehicle up, the very next day it broke down again -- this time while I was driving uphill with my toddler in the backseat. I called to speak with Brian, and even after I told him the car was undrivable, he told me to "have your dad come look at it and drive it." He then had Craig, the service tech, call me, who told me to take it to a shop near me and have it checked out. I called Brian again after that and told him it was completely unprofessional for Craig to suggest I take the car elsewhere after everything I had already paid. I also told him the only reason I bought this car was because Mike misrepresented its condition. Instead of taking any responsibility, Brian told me to get an attorney. I specifically asked for a complete diagnostic, and a transmission failure this quickly points to a pre-existing issue that was either missed or ignored. This goes beyond poor business practice--this is misrepresentation and fraud. Under Washington State law, it is illegal for dealers to knowingly make false statements or hide serious mechanical defects just to close a sale. Misleading a customer into believing a vehicle is mechanically sound when it clearly is not is a direct violation of the Consumer Protection Act and the Implied Warranty of Merchantability. Just because the vehicle was sold "as is" does not shield Car Stars from responsibility for misrepresentation or hiding serious defects. Selling "as is" does not excuse the dealer from their obligation to be honest and transparent about the vehicle's condition. Car Stars took advantage of my trust, ignored my valid concerns, and left me with an unsafe, non-functioning vehicle within days of purchase. I will be reporting this dealership for fraudulent practices and pursuing my legal rights. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone--especially to people who expect honesty and accountability when making such an important purchase. Buyers beware: protect yourself and get an independent inspection, because this dealership operates with dishonesty and deception.
