We were given a pre-approval letter to make an offer on a house and were moving forward with the purchase only to find out we weren't approved after all a month down the road. Meanwhile, we spent over $700 for the survey and appraisal of the home. We kept asking along the way to make sure we were still approved and were told repeatedly that it was basically a done deal and not to worry. Needless to say, we were very upset when we had to back out of the contract and we lost the $700 we spent. I would not recommend using this company as your mortgage broker.

He is courteous, very responsive (seriously, I've called the guy at 10pm), and most importantly, he didn't give me the run around like some of the other lenders. Long story short, Emily Franke of SWBC Mortgage royally screwed me over. Just wait for that review- OH, it's comin'. I was lucky enough to have a good real estate broker who put me in contact with Todd after this all happened. While others rushed me off the phone, ignored crucial information, and/or confused me even more, my first phone call with Todd was a whole hour long. He took the time (on a Saturday!) to review every single detail and explain everything that I needed to know. I was extremely pressed for time, and Todd spent the day on Sunday doing about a week's worth of work in order for me to get the house that I wanted. Since then, he has been constantly in touch to update me on the status of...well...everything (by "everything" I mean the million things needed to come together to close on a house). He even went above and beyond to find me a hazard insurance policy that was $300 less than anything else I was quoted (yes, with the same amount of coverage)! I mean, c'mon, you can't tell me that your lender has ever done that for you. I'm ecstatic. Wait, that wasn't convincing enough. I'M ECSTATIC. SO FLIPPIN' ECSTATIC.
