We contractd with Cascade Custom Pools LLC for a pool in June of 2023 and we have paid $61,000 to date. To date no concrete has been applied. Chris Harrington (owner) will not communicate with us at all. I have been to Georgetown Zoning and spoken to the Zoning Administrator and she told me Cascade failed to show elevation of pool and did not submit required engineering report. Without our knowledge, Cascade started with a plan that was against zoning restrictions. The last communication from Cascade said all requirements were submitted to county and they were waiting for a response. The Zoning Administrator confirmed that was false. We've learned that Cascade has at least seven lawsuits pending and more coming. We've been told by a local licensed shotcrete contractor that no one will shoot pools for Chris any longer because he owes them all back payments. We've also had 3 other pool contractors out to look at Cascade's work and they all say that framing (not enough rebar, wrong gauge, bad attachments), grading and plumbing are not correct. All three also said it would never have passed inspection and will have to be destroyed if we chose to work with a different company. We've spoken to a 70 year old lady whose money was taken by them. When she went to the office they wouldn't come to the door. Some other victims have had liens put on their homes because Cascade never paid for the equipment they installed. Others have had to demolish what Cascade left behind. We are not rich people by any means and we've lost a huge part of our life's savings. Cascade began work on our pool September 29th and we were told the project would take approximately 12 weeks to complete. The dig, framing, rebar and concrete shell happened pretty quickly, with a few errors in the process including the pool shell being the wrong depth. After the shell was complete (October 19) we had paid them 85% of the total project based on the contract scheduling. This is when Cascade stopped showing up, stopped answering calls, texts and emails and left us with a concrete hole in our yard. A hole that's the wrong depth and was plumbed incorrectly. The sewage service line from our house was broken 3 times during their work despite being shown on an overhead image before work started. Each time it was broken they never reported it to us even though it was obvious (raw sewage smell/water pooling) and we had to make the repairs ourselves. From here it didn't take long to discover the extensive lawsuits against them from multiple homeowners in the same situation and suppliers that haven't been paid. Since October they have been out a handful of times to do small tasks on site but have yet to make any progress to complete the pool, or deliver the pavers and pool equipment we have paid for in the contract. After trying to contact them across multiple platforms almost daily we finally got them out to work on the waterline tile and coping in February, which they did complete. However they said they would not deliver the rest of the materials until we paid the next 8% on the contract. We agreed to pay it if they provided a signed timeline to finish the project, which they did provide, and they have missed each deadline they created on it and have again disappeared from the project with no sign of the materials being delivered. So here we are 24 weeks into our "12 week" project with a company that seems intent is to take your money and never complete your job. If you are still considering hiring this company please reach out to me, any of the other 1 star reviewers, or plaintiffs on the lawsuits to know just how much damage Cascade has caused and continues to cause. We hired Cascade pools and got a beautiful 3D drawing first of what our project would look like. They started our project and told us step by step what was gonna be done. Communication was always good besides a few times (nothing that couldn't wait). Overall we are so happy with our swimming pool and Mikey and Chris were absolutely wonderful to speak with. We had one minor issue with a bubbler and they came out and fixed it two weeks later when their schedule allowed. I would definitely recommend this company over and over again!!! I am updating my review, again. Mike did move our project forward, so I do need to give him credit and our appreciation for this. He did promise a completion date and that did not happen, nor have we seen him since before Thanksgiving, hence my frustration. Mikey (no relation to Mike) has been trying to keep things going. The work that has been done is very good. When anyone has shown up, we have been pleased. Therefore, I am upgrading my rating. I would love to be able to suggest this company, but I feel that Christopher Harrington, the owner, does not take any responsibility for supporting his employees, providing customer service, he has no leadership skills, and I fear that he has a serious money management deficiency. ZERO STARS given -I have been ghosted by this company! Beware!! I have paid 85% of the contract price for a pool that was contracted summer 2023. Everything checked out with the company a year ago. I should mention this is our retirement home/pool so this is a big deal for us. Upon starting in JAN 2024, we fulfilled our part of the contract (WRITING CHECKS, access to property, tile,pave,coping choices etc.). Todays date is April 6, 2024 and nothing other than 1.5 days of earth removal and 2 loads of topsoil moved in plus the grounding wire run (1 hour) in the last 4 weeks with the addition of some long run plumbing that was done in the previous 2 weeks (1 day of work). Today I am left with a concrete shell and long plumbing run done and that's it. Oh Yeah, The oil of wood left over from shotcrete shell. I have no equipment , no pavers onsite, nothing as well as absolutely no communication with the owners. The principles in the company are: Chris (Coke) Harrington - Mike's incompetent Son) Owner at the time I contracted with Cascade Custom Pools Mike (Dirty) Harrington (Chris's incompetent Father)- Claims he owns the company now but was working with Chris since we started in January - In fact he said I would be dealing with him - Never saw him again until I dropped in at their office to see what the hell was going on a few weeks ago) Honorable mention: John (Digger) Harrington - Mikes younger brother who operates the excavation equipment - He is complicit in the lies - but a competent equipment operator. Mikey (Lies like a rug) (Magical.....not at all as it turns out) Does nothing other than front the lies of Chris and Mike. Greatest strength - Johnny on the spot to pick up a check. Again - Literally did nothing but hold the office desk down when I dropped in. So all be warned and do not do business with these thieves and liars. They stole our money and have not fulfilled the contract. I can only assume that no communication=out of business. Please do not hire any of these guys as they they cannot be trusted. I should also mention that they have another email address for Mike - A new fake company perhaps?? I believe it was customerservice@myrtlebeachfiberglasspools.com - They were dealing with Thursday Fiberglass pools. Anyone else in this situation with this vender? The only response we have had in the last few months was to a Google review which requested I call the office because I could not be found " the the system ". I found this ironic and disturbing. We have paid THOUSANDS to this company starting with over $20,000 to reserve a date ( 2 months out). There was another over $20.000 payment that had to be paid before the dirt would be moved. All payments were before things would be done. And we can't now be found " in the system" . There is still work to be done and we are over one year since that first load of dirt was moved.
