A lot of choices but expensive, especially considering some of the facilities could use a face lift such as the basketball area. I've always enjoyed the indoor pool and the outdoor pool is a nice addition. The staff are friendly for the most part, but I once saw one of the young male staff members taunting a heavy set teenager who was exercising. read more

I had been a member of CAC for my entire life before moving to California. I still come work out whenever I am back in Portland. The staff is always friendly, the facility is always clean, and there is always enough space to move around. Parking lot is ample, I really can't find a single thing to complain about. read more

This gym is perfect for families. Large gym with many options - indoor and outdoor pool, tennis, basketball, racquetball courts, and so much more. Has child care available and also many kid club camps. It is always clean and staff are friendly. I have been going there since Feb of 2012, and it has been a very positive experience for me. They have tons of equipment. Lots of cardio equipment, every weight machine that you can think of, and a good size free weight room. They have tons of classes. My wife and our child have really enjoyed their water park over the summer. I have been a member of 24 Hour Fitness and LA Fitness, and this by far feels like a private club. The price maybe a little higher than the others, but I think you get more for your dollar. read more

I've been a member here now for a month and I love it! I've had memberships at Planet Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, and Golds Gym before and I prefer the atmosphere here more than any other place I've been. The gym area is very large and has all of the equipment that a person would ever need. The indoor swimming pool is clean and a nice benefit to have at a gym. The staff has been very friendly and helpful any time I have needed anything. This place might be a little pricier than other gyms, but for everything that you get with a membership it is worth every penny. read more

What a nice gym. We came here for a fundraiser for leukemia and did a spin class. Wow that kicked my butt but I was very impressed with what I saw. Professional tennis courts and a pool for swimming laps and nice lounge area and tv's. I would write more if I saw more read more

They have everything here and a very flexible work out schedule for different times. There isn't that "how good do I look" feel to it like some gyms have and I am comfortable in my workout routine. Definitely signed up for the membership and look forward to many days here. read more

Don't go to this money hungry gym! The employees are rude and talk down about you when they think you are not around. I visited this gym from Vancouver where I am a member of Cascade Athletic Club. When arriving I was informed I have to pay a daily fee, even though my gym had stated that it should be free but they said i was lucky the outdoor pool wasn't open or it would be more (lucky me). I asked for a tour and the girl at the front just pointed from where she stood "guys gym down there... weights up there ...pool through the locker room..." I wondered around aimlessly through hallways and different rooms until I found a locker room which has no lockers for use (maybe 20 to choose from) only ones to rent (200 easy)... walked pass a tanning room on my way to the pool and it said call desk to activate so I did it... after a couple minutes someone came down and said I didn't sign a book at the front and I had to pay to use it... pool was packed as well as everything else so I decided to hit the weights, when I walked up to the stairs I herd the employees making fun of me and bad mouthing the guy who tried to use the tanning booth... I turned around got changed and left... I will never go here again and will tell everyone I know the same! read more

I'm a member of a different location (CAC-205), but use the Gresham location's pool when the 205 pool is being cleaned, about once or twice a year. It used to be a treat to use the Gresham facility. But now, after the women's locker room has been redesigned, the place just makes me angry. They used to have long lockers, but they have been replaced by short ones. They used to have long benches, but they have been replaced by short ones. What was convenient and well-designed they have replaced with something stingy. They used to have hooks to hang your towel while showering. Believe it or not, now there is no place to hang a towel near the main shower area. (I used their smaller shower area because they had a few barely usable hooks there.) I asked the desk clerks about the lack of towel hanging hooks and they were just defensive about it. It turns out the club knew about the problem, couldn't fix it, but didn't bother to tell the customers how to deal with it. An expensive health club with no towel hooks? Incomprehensible and in my opinion, verging on insanity. read more

Their accounting procedures are deceptive, and predatory. I went to the accounting office in May to cancel my membership. I was told that rates would probably be going up, and that I should put the account on hold vs cancelling, if there was a chance I might want to rejoin later. I was also told that I could still cancel anytime. I was not told that I would later be charged for an additional month's dues, and be required to submit 30 days written notice of cancellation. What a scam! I also had problems a few months before that with billing when using a trainer there. They arbitrarily billed for 2 months at one time, and since they auto withdrew from my bank account there was little that I could do about it. Maybe they are in financial trouble or something because there seems to be a pattern. read more

The staff is friendly and helpful, and I enjoy how much there is to do here. I'm 25 and I don't work full time so unfortunately I won't be able to afford being a member for very long considering the monthly cost.. but I would definitely recommend to friends & family! read more

Cascade Athletic Club is a quality family club. The therapy salt water pool is FABULOUS for Those of us with neuromuscular issues. It is not a brand new, Modern club, but it is still a class act. The pool is the absolute best pool, bar none, in east county. It is available from very early in the morning until 11:00 pm, and comparable weekend hours. It is truly a family club that offers quality childcare for minimal costs. The pool has generous family hours available. Many years ago when I was a single parent still teaching the indoor Pool Was available every evening when I picked up my little girl from daycare.the owner is often onsite and happy to talk to guests. The outdoor pool looks like something out of a Disney Hotel. The staff is very dedicated. They have several different pay structures, even plans for people on Medicare. Even though our kids are raised, I personally appreciate the fact that kids are included in the club so prominently. They are constantly updating and renovating. There is truly something for everyone, even hip young twenty something's. read more

Cascade is the best gym around. I've worked out there (and other gyms) for ten years and CAC is by far, the cleanest, friendliest, and least crowded. CAC also has a wonderful childcare program. For only $20 a month you can take your child there for up to 2 hours everyday. And the kids aren't just sat in front of a TV, there are games, arts and crafts. There is also a dress code for members that is somewhat modest, which is nice. Cascade also has a variety of really awesome workouts classes. I could go on and on. Nice fun place for the kids especially during summer time at the water park in the back... unfortunately they have a staff that works at the water park named Brian.. be aware of Brian, he is very very disrespectful to children. I had an encounter with him yelling and screaming at my kids telling them to get the fuck out of the pool, accusing them of things they didn't do, then he tried raising his voice at me and I literally had to tell him to shhhhh don't talk to me or anyone of that matter in that tone, this is no way to conduct any kinda business especially with children, Brian does not have the authority to talk to anyone's kids the way he does.. not only that then he continues to go to the other employees point and talk about my kids with them.. he made us feel extremely uncomfortable as we watched him pointing and talking about us to our face... I will never allow anyone to talk to my kids any kind of way especially not You Brian!!!! read more

One of their personal trainers, Jackie, designed a program which was amazing. I regained strength I had not seen in 8 years within 3 weeks of working out. I've yet to use the pool or classes, but the members have been great thus far and the equipment is more than sufficient. Great gym! read more

I enjoy going to Cascade -- especially the Groove class at Gresham and the Groove class on Friday nights at East Portland. Both instructors, Christie and Sarah are absolutely amazing. Lots of fun, high energy but very doable for all athletic abilities. I have only encountered friendly people at both locations. read more

I had a membership for several years but had to cancel it do to not being able to use the pool. I only used the pool, and for medical reasons could not on advise of my doctor. I then tried to cancel, even sent in written notice like I was told but they failed to cancel and in return kept charging me. I refused to pay their full amount of charge and in return they send me to collections which I can not pay because of being disabled and low income, What started out as around 80.00 charge grew to well over 300.00 and keeps increasing. if your on low income and cant pay the first charge without problems what makes you think adding to the bill and charging extra months after canceling makes you think I am going to be able to pay now. I would not even be in this mess if they had at least canceled when I ask instead of adding to the bill. I would have redone my membership later if this had not happened be now will never use this place again. read more
