If you're a parent and care about your child's safety, I wouldn't recommend enrolling at this gym! I'm writing this review not just as a parent who pays $150 per month for my membership with childcare, but also as a school director myself ,and a mandated Oregon State child safety reporter. Before posting this review, I have tried contacting the owner several times about child safety -- with no response. Here are a couple of child safety issues I have observed: -- Instance #1: About two months ago on a week night, a one and a half year old ran out from the kids center. And due to short staffing, it wasn't noticed by staff members. Luckily, I stopped the child from running out to the gym floor. When I brought this to the director's attention, (Cindy), she said that it never happened because the cameras didn't see it happen. Scoffing and rolling her eyes. She then got back on her tablet, and ignored me. --Instance #2: The child care was short staffed. When this happens, they put the older kids with the infants/toddlers. On a few of those instances, other parents and I, have seen the older kids hurt the smaller children (violently at times). After witnessing this, I tried to find the Director and she was no where to be found. She was on "Break". -- Instance #3: Last night (4/7/26) at roughly 5:15 pm. There was one staff member to probably 20 kids. I tried to talk to the director. Once again, she rudely rolled her eyes at me. Then her and the front desk girl started laughing and mocking me. And said within earshot, "What's her f**** problem". Hopefully after posting this review the, child safety issues are addressed. And the employee culture as well. ***Review update: The owner finally contacted me, and he said all the right things. I will update the review further if changes regarding the safety issues and toxic employee culture are truly addressed. *** read more

For what you pay to be a part of this "Premier" club in Gresham, its not worth it. I've used the Bay Club in Lake Oswego for years and recently moved to Gresham and thought this was a decent replacement... Its not. First, the tennis courts are decent but you have to pay extra to use them, pickleball courts are always packed and you have to pay extra to use them. The gym says new equipment but its really not, you can see it in the wear and tear on the cushions and seats of majority of the equipment. Secondly, there's better gyms, better pricing that doesn't make you pay extra to "belong." Its basically a country club that has a gym. And don't fall into the "we have a swimming pool" trap. I've seen apartment swimming pools that make Cascade's seem like a toddler attraction, not to mention its 4 lanes wide and three of them are for one person at a time. I will say that most of the staff are great and friendly. The tennis crew are trash! Of course they asked us to pay extra when my kid wanted to borrow a training racket, they had over 15 of them hanging in their office. I ended up going home and getting an extra. The 24hr Fitness off 181st and Halsey is great and pricing for a month at Cascade is the full year there! Plus they have most of the same amenities. You can make the decision for yourself, I'm tired of paying for nothing and this company is exactly that. read more

I'm sharing this experience to help other parents make informed decisions about childcare safety at this location. On September 23, 2025, I checked my three children (ages 8 months, 4, and 6) into the Kids Club around 5:15 PM. When I returned approximately 15 minutes later, I observed my 8-month-old daughter sitting alone in a corner by the large play structure, approximately 15-20 feet from the two staff members who were seated at a table. During the 30 seconds I watched through the window, no adult approached her while several older children were running and playing actively in the same area. The facility has a policy requiring staff to remain within 3 steps of infants at all times that parents read and sign before allowing their children to be at Kids Club. This policy was not being followed. When I discussed this with the shift lead that evening (no managers were available on-site), we reviewed security footage which showed: 1. Staff placing my infant in the middle of the room alone, then walking away to sit down 2. My daughter crawling away from supervision toward the play equipment area 3. An older child stepping over her while carrying a toy bike overhead 4. A near-miss incident with another child on a riding toy 5. Staff taking approximately 30 seconds to retrieve her from the unsupervised area IMPORTANT FOR PARENTS TO KNOW: Gym childcare facilities may be exempt from Oregon's childcare licensing requirements if parents remain on the premises. This means they may not be subject to the same supervision standards, staff training requirements, or safety regulations that apply to licensed childcare centers, which require staff to maintain sight and sound contact with children at all times and follow specific staff-to-child ratios. I've notified management in writing about these supervision gaps. Parents of mobile infants should be aware that the posted safety policies may not be consistently followed during busy periods, and regulatory oversight may be limited. The gym facilities themselves are good, but I cannot recommend the childcare services based on this experience. read more

Although we do not (currently) possess a membership, we were invited to our son's friend's birthday party here over the weekend, and after seeing all of the features and services offered here, there's a solid possibility of that changing in the very near future! Multiple gyms, courts (indoor and outdoor), pools (again, indoor and outdoor), splash pads and water features, cafés (indoor and...you guessed it: outdoor!) serving surprisingly decent food and drinks for...surprisingly affordable prices! Beer, wine, cider, and non-alcoholic drinks available pool side, as well as pizza, hot dogs, chips, salsa, quesadillas, ice cream (Dippin' deez Dots!) and other light snacks. A grill next to the splash pad's entrance gate can be rented for birthdays and similar events. Our boys (all four of them, including our newborn, who had his first ever pool swim here!) had a complete blast in the outdoor water park. We spent a good three+ hours during the party, and they never tired of it; if they weren't eating burgers, hot dogs or cake, they were in the pool, making liberal use of the water slide, or frolicking about among the springs, sprinklers and other water features. I'm not sure if they offer a day-use pass for non-members, but I am very tempted to find out, try it out, and if the rest of the features are as spectacular as the water park, a family membership is likely in the cards. It's a little out of the way, but rarely have I before encountered such a clean, extensive, comprehensive, and family-friendly establishment, with this many attractions, all in one campus. Outrageously overpriced for this dark, dingy, outdated, unfriendly facility. My family and I joined thinking it would be a great place for us to spend time together while getting healthier, but it is such a miserable atmosphere, no one ever wanted to go. Also, charging an extra fee to use the tennis courts while not providing any type of incentive or service (use of rackets, ball machine, any type of instructions from pros on sight, etc) is just one of the many examples of how they nickel and dime you. My mom has been trying to get us to go to this club for a couple years. We finally sign up and she got no referral discount no discount for inability to use anything other than the pool. She was treated very rudely. She was on hospice a couple years ago and now her back is deteriorating and she can not be alone. I have 5 kids who are struggling with different disabilities and we thought this was the perfect place but they want my mom to pay a separate 80 a month when me and my family already pay 219. There is nothing to be shown for compassion. She can t do the weights she can't use the courts. She can't be in the sauna. She can go into the pool with help and hot tub with help and doesn't stay in long. But still nothing to help accommodate her being. With her family so they can stay healthy and she doesn't have to be alone. This seems very inhumane. It's disappointing because we put out the enrollment fee and everything without thinking of her being left behind by such a facade of information. read more

The pool facilities are great. The women's dressing room is abominable. The tiny hot tub in there is a hazard to enter and exit. There are miniature stools to use while getting dressed. Some of the lockers offer benches or small leather club chairs that look cracked and uncomfortable. I've not had pleasant employee interactions. They seemed disinterested in providing excellent customer service when I reported children diving into the tiny spa. My PT doctor suggested a cold plunge would greatly benefit my inflammation. When I inquired as to its availability, I found out it is only available in the mens locker room. This is an extremely frustrating result in light of the extravagant monthly fee. A variety of membership options would be welcomed from those of us who only use the pool facilities and weren't even aware of a second level of the establishment. read more

Staff is friendly and helpful at least the women, I've not had much interactions with the male employees but the females are always friendly and helpful they answered all my questions and gave me a tour of the facility. This gym has everything you need equipment wise, machines, cable machines, deadlift area an free weights etc. the steam room an hot tub are always great for recovery and they have indoor heated pool and an outdoor pool which is nice for cold plunges after the steam room or Hot tub. the building is an old one but it's still good, my dad used to go here back when he was younger as well. the only negative thing I'd have to say would be the building has seen better days and could use some renovations but their constantly improving An doing renovations so that's fine I'm just tedious when it comes to having a well maintained infrastructure And would like to see the building completely renovated and brought back to its glory days. read more

My family and I have been members of CAC off-and-on for many years. It is a nice club - the outdoor pool, in particular, has been a source of many days of enjoyment for my kids. However, I cannot support this business. The owners use their business as a platform for very conservative causes. Several years ago, the owners were very principle funders of an effort to reject a public community center proposal in Gresham. And just recently during the COVID epidemic, the owners have staged an ill-advised "protest" opening of their facility in direct violation of the Governor's orders. They can disagree and protest in many ways, but opening in violation of the government guidance is irresponsible and petty, and it has the potential to put their customers at risk. read more

I signed my son up for a swim lesson here. He is 6 and enjoys swimming but is very much a beginner. The swim instructors were awful. They didn't introduce them selves, rushed through everything, were rude, and just seemed very inexperienced with children. As an educator I expected more. My son was scared to let the instructor touch him, and I can't blame him as there was no warning or direction what they were going to do. He was worried they would let go of him and he would drown! I spoke with Cindy in management and she said," they couldn't offer me a refund since someone else could have had that spot." And " it wasn't their fault he wouldn't follow instruction and swim." I told them I would give it another go with him, but on reflection, I don't want to subject my son to that. And I'm upset she made it out to be my 6 year olds fault and took no responsibility. It is very much the gyms fault when their teachers don't know what they are doing. No matter how much experience they have . Won't be returning ever. read more

I like that there is usually not very many people around, so you can float to different machines or spaces to use the facilities. I like that they offer employment to people, trainers, taichi and other fitness instructors. I like clean space. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I didn't like that the pool isn't shared with others. Just a general distaste for anyone not in your group. Lack of useabilty, when space isn't shared, such as the pool lanes or the spa-tub. The worst issue is the manager REQUIRING FOX NEWS to be on the tv. Going so far as to jump on a treadmill to prove that someone is watching that Russian Propaganda. Many people have asked to not play FOX NEWS' daytime talk show, but the manager just refuses. This is the main reason patrons don't like this establishment and typically leave. I feel like the club is affordable given the amenities. They offer most anything you would be interested in doing at a gym. The staff are friendly, the gym smells a bit less like old underwear than other gyms and they always go around and wipe down the machines. I enjoy the pool here. read more

I was a member at the 205 club on SE Stark, which closed down January 2023. The club was fine, nothing spectacular, but near my home, and fine for a gym. Unhoused individuals were often in the parking lot, sleeping in cars, smoking cigarettes right outside the club, but I would not say that was the fault of the club. It did sometimes feel a bit unsafe though. When the management alerted the customers that the club was closing, there was conflicting information given verbally. I was told different things over the phone and in person. Then, in January there was an email sent out saying that all of our accounts were going to be forwarded over to a Muv fitness nearby unless we responded to that email that we wanted to opt out of that option. I immediately responded and opted out. Then, about 4 weeks later, I get a charge on my credit card from that Muv fitness, so obviously nothing was taken care of on my account to opt out of my membership being forwarded. I called Muv fitness, and they stated that Cascade athletic club did a "terrible job" with this transition, and they were getting daily phone calls from people that this happened to. They gave me an email for the club manager, and said she would take care of it. I emailed her, explained the situation, and asked for a refund. She got back to me the same day, saying that she had initiated the refund. Well, as of today, she only refunded half of the charge! I do not know if this was an accident or purposeful, but this just further complicates this issue that should have never happened! Why would Cascade athletic club just forward accounts/memberships by default???? It seems that the default would be to let memberships go, unless someone specifies they want to be transferred to a different company in a different location. I also called the Gresham location to report my experience and the person I spoke to was apologetic, but said "I had nothing to do with it." Absolutely ridiculous. I have totally enjoyed being a member at the 205 club. It was such a positive change from 24 Hour Fitness at Mall 205. The turnover of staff there was continual, and the facility always appeared dirty to me. The staff at Cascade is so welcoming and friendly and helpful. Wonderful people. And the club The selection of classes was good and the instructors were amazing! I will miss the smaller venue of 205. I plan on going to the Gresham club. It seems nice, but huge! Not necessarily a bad thing and I look forward to getting used to it read more

Watch out- there are crabs in the pool. Crabby people who tell you what you can and can't do. Which fine, get better signs but I would not send my family in there to get yelled at. The swimming pool needs better staffing if newcomers are unaware of rules* and "veterans" feel they have to bark at people. I am a grown adult and got scolded by someone assuming I was much younger. No one over age thirty should be yelled at in their bathing suit. All should be welcome but she stared until I left as a form of intimidation. A solution could be spreading staff out after the senior fitness classes so seniors don't feel they need to be adversarial to others. *the rule was no swimming in the pool which for crying out loud is not an obvious rule and wasn't really on the sign. No disrespect intended but definitely received. Hope to update this review after I've actually had a chance to swim there. read more

I've been going to this gym since I was a little kid! My parents have been going since the 80s and honestly it's just my favorite gym in the world!! The staff are so nice, the facility is always kept up clean. There is always happy faces to welcome you in if your doing your workout, playing tennis,basketball, or just going to have a pool day!! I am VERY unhappy with this club. We pay $120 a month for 2 adult memberships and 1 unlimited kids club pass and this is what we get the the money we spend: The only reason we keep our membership is because of the kids club so my little one gets some socialization. But they just closed their east Gresham club recently and now everyone's jammed like sardines in the Gresham location. I understand that there are some adjustments and growing pains that come with change, but this club went from bad- to worse. It's 85% elderly people who don't pay out of pocket for their memberships because their insurance covers it. So a lot of the programs are aimed for their "silver fit" members, while the members that pay themselves take the back seat. And it wouldn't be so bad but the senior citizens there sprawl out, sit on machines and chit chat, and many have the nerve to get pissy with you if they feel like they're in your way. As I said, we go for the kids club. But even then, we have to keep it to a certain time of day and only a certain couple days a week because a lot of times, it gets like "Lord of the Flies" up there. I only feel comfortable with a small handful of the girls that work there watching my child because the others are not paying attention or are texting on their phones, and there have been multiple accidents lately for that very reason. Also, the kids room is the smallest out of all of the Cascade facilities, yet has the most families that come to be cared for. You ask if management has any plans on fixing any of the issues and you hear, "not at this time." My other serious gripe is that they don't have a consistent cleaning person who makes sure the floors are kept clean in the work out areas. They have a guy who does a good job moving machines and mopping, but he's only one guy, who has the responsibility to deep clean the ENTIRE facility. Most clubs have someone you see on a daily basis, with a vacuum and duster. Not this place. And you bring it up to them, and they make excuses. I've brought it up relentlessly over the past year and they offered to refund me my membership registration fee and to allow me to break my contract "if I was that unhappy." Which is a disgusting reaction to have to someone who's telling your floor is filthy on a regular basis. read more

Amazing! I needed child care for spring break. A pop up ad directed me to their site. Called and spoke with Theresa Akines, made an appointment for a tour, and paid the extremely reasonable fee. My son loved going there. Super active, positive environment, and the teachers were so friendly! It's now summer. I've enrolled him in their summer program. I recognized most of the same faces so you know the turnover is low which says a lot about a company. My son asks every night if he's going back the next day. Swimming, slip and slide, and making friends. Thanks for making it so effortless for me! read more

My son and I recently joined the CAC and we love it. He enjoys the kids zone and making new friends (the girls who work in there are great with all the kids). I love that I get a little me time and I know my son is in good hands. We enjoy a delicious smoothie after almost every workout. The folks there both members and employees are so nice. The other night my son wanted to watch a racquetball game and he cheered them on - when they were finished he greeted them with "good job" and they gifted him their game ball. There is so much there we have yet to check out/utilize and we are both excited to do so. He especially loves the pool... he cannot wait to join swim lessons. Our family absolutely loves this place. It has no competition in what they offer. Here is what it offers and what we like. PROS Generous hours. Friendly front desk. Huge locker rooms. Ladies locker room has sauna, hot tub, 2 private changing rooms, private showers. Hair dryers. Large family bathroom. Indoor salt water lap pool (4 lanes) Warm water pool (2 lanes) XL Hot tub Large Steam room (Family Times are limited for the pool and hot tub to specific days and hours. Please check with Club) Outdoor swimming pool, splash park and slides. (Open in summer). Tennis, racquetball, basketball, indoor running track, treadmills, ellipticals, weights, free weights, etc. Cafe serving smoothies and healthy meals. Beauty salon. Physical therapy. Exercise classes. Nutrition classes. Childcare. Lots of seating areas. This is not your normal gym, it truly is a club. What I really like about Cascade Athletic Club is they allow you to join as a family. Children 10&11 may work out with their parents. Children 12 & up who pass a test can work out as long as parents are at the club. But have more freedom to move. This is with exception of the pool. Age 15 and younger can only be in pool during family time and with parents direct supervision. CONS: it's definitely more expensive than your basic gym. Few loaner racquets and basketballs. Bring your own to avoid disappointment. Basketball courts are popular. EDIT: this has been addressed and was done quite quickly IMHO. The women's locker room has a few wonky showers that need attention. One handle falls and won't stay hot. Another has a vent that is not fastened to the ceiling. NOTE: The family bathroom gets water everywhere. Not sure if this was fixed Do not leave bags or valuables in your car in this area. It is an area known for theft. 45 stars for amazing amount of activities offered. This place rocks. -0.5 star for needed bathroom maintenance -0.5 star for having so few loaner racquets and basketballs. It's just so much equipment to bring with us. We would love it if they were a bit easier to borrow. In the end I do recommend this "gym" as I feel like variety makes it all so much more fun. read more

I have visited several times as a guest over the last couple years while my husband has maintained his membership. This club is extremely sexist. When my husband goes to the club he is sitting in the men's room where there is a lounge. They have couches, big screen TV, sitting areas with bar tables, and they have executive lockers where your name can be added to show off how powerful of a man you really are. The men have a large sauna, hot tub and a cold tub. Most men probably would not share these details with their wife but I'm not one to just ignorantly sit by and throw my money at a place. The women's locker room is simply a locker room. The women have two chairs next to the dressing room, this is basically for you to monitor your children while they are changing, it is in no way meant to encourage you to stay and relax. There is a sauna that can seat four people without being on each other's laps. There is a small hot tub that does not have a thermostat so the temperature is not well controlled. As a female or anyone opting to use the women's dressing room, you are welcome to get in and out, you are not offered any sort of discounted rate despite the lack of amenities but you certainly are paying for the men to enjoy their time here. Anybody who has a spouse that has been working out here for years and noticed they never seems to lose weight.....it is a boys club. The club is aware of these issues, these have been stated repeatedly in reviews, surveys and face-to-face with staff. There has not been any effort to make the women's room comparable or offer females any reduced rate. The men can grab drinks and food and watch sporting events, movies, news or just hang out with friends in the men's "locker room". Women need to work out and get out. read more

Pro: Huge gym with everything you can think of, staff is friendly, great outdoor pool in the summers if you have kids. Machines are almost always available. Con: Very dirty... if you go to the stretch area you can see all sorts of gross stuff all over the floor, there's dust in every nook and cranny. The bathrooms, even though newly remodeled are gross and smell terrible. Get a good janitor and things will be so much better! read more

Super Family friendly, has changed the way I get to a gym. Instead of a solo activity which my wife and I swap days on while the other watches the kids, we all go together. My kids are ages 10, 10, and 12. Kids 10-11 can work out along side adults. Kids 12-16 can work out on their own as long as I'm at the gym. So I bring the kids whenever I can. The only thing they can't do is hot tub or pool activities unless it's "family time". The Gresham location is huge, there has to be at least 10 different weight lifting areas and equipment types. My kids have really enjoyed the racket ball courts, with the gear the gym loans out. There is always a court available in the back gymnasium. read more

The pandemic has effected all of us. I understand that. Myself and cascade is no exception. Cascade has closed for a couple of months now but they are charging me $10 a month even though the gym is closed. I lost my job too and it's tough keeping up with the bills. Plus it's opening in June but they want to prorate the month? What if I don't want to go to the gym yet because I don't trust it is safe. I still get charged even if I don't go for the month. They just think about their financial situation not consider that others are in the sameboat. I'll quit this gym soon. Stay away and find a different gym. read more

Just a warning to everyone who joins. Every May they charge you a $45 annual membership fee. I love how they conveniently didn't explain this clearly when applying. It is different than the initiation fee. Another example how this club just takes money from it's members. I only go here because my relatives go here. Tennis anyone? If you haven't already guessed, I'm a tennis player and this place is where I go to hit on those rainy days (which is all the damn time). They have 5 indoor courts that they maintain very nicely and 3 outdoor courts. They also have 2 gyms (so vball and bball players don't have to fight for court time), multiple racquetball courts, small indoor track, all the exercise equipment you could possibly want, 2 pools (indoor and outdoor), daycare, lounging areas, and really friendly staff. Needless to say, this place is PIMPED out! Only complaints I have is the small parking lot and the locker room--although nice--looks like it's stuck in the 90s and needs a touch of modern flare. Has lots of members but never overly crowded like some of those newer gyms. Great facility and has everything you could possibly want in a gym. read more

i have the silver sneakers or fit and low income and senior and disabled i called up cascade they told me to use the pool ,,i use for pool theropy costs 15 dollars extra per month , i will not go to cascade silver fit suppose to free ,, there are other local gyms that dont charge extra just to use the pool and classes ,, that is so stuiped ,, plese check other gyms ,if your a senior and you have the silver fit or sneakers and need to use a pool ,, why waist your 15 dollars per month using there pool when theres at least 2 gyms in gresham that dont charge the rediculas 15 dollars extra per month ,, just plain rediculas read more
