This was excellent…read more I added this to my list after seeing its outstanding reviews on Google and Yelp in case we had spare time on our business trip, being in San Antonio from Tampa - we had that extra time and ended up here and it's great that we did. I called ahead of time asking if they had availability for 6 guests at around 6 PM and they said that it shouldn't be a problem, but they can't guarantee that we'd be seated right away... sold! We arrived and while the set up the table, Charlene welcomed us to hang out at the bar. We were then greeted by Ben, who we came to find out was one of the owners of the restaurant. He spoke with us briefly as our table was being set up, welcoming us in. Within 3 minutes of coming in, they set up a table for us in the corner of the restaurant and had us seated. The place is small (not tiny) and even on a Wednesday at 6 PM, it was clearly a popular spot... we would continue to find out why that was the case. Forgive me, as I cannot remember our waitresses' name, but she was great. She handed us our menus and let us be as we needed a moment to make our decisions. The front of the menu tells the humble story of how the restaurant came to be - definitely worth a read while you are waiting. Our waitress came back and took our drink and food orders. At the same time, I asked if she could have Ben come over as we wanted to hear more about his story after reading the brief story on the front of the menu. He came over and talked to us for ~5 minutes telling us about how he ended up in the States after leaving his home and how the restaurant came to be - from that alone, my experience had already been elevated and I was even more excited for the remainder of the experience to come. The drinks arrived, followed by the food, which we ordered (mostly) solely on Ben's recommendations. Everything looked delicious and as we were told by Ben, it was all fresh, purchased that day from the market and cooked to order. We started with the fried mozzarella, which was unique to me, in that it had no marinara but instead, spicy honey and sesame seeds and was fried in beef tallow - it was great. I ordered the Chicken Parm, which had fresh mozzarella poured into it at the table - the mozzarella smelled (and tasted) AMAZING. The dish has select bites throughout it that had some spice to it - I'd say that the spice level was about a 3/10, coming from someone who doesn't have the highest spice tolerance. The flavor/satisfaction level? 10/10. Typically, I'm not a dessert guy, but because of how good the experience was up to this point, I had to indulge. I ordered the crème brûlée and was not disappointed. Good temperature, good, mild flavor and presentation. This experience was excellent. From the unsuspecting setting, the greeting, the noise level in the restaurant, the attentiveness of the servers, the presentation and flavor of the food, to the staff asking how everything was and holding the door for us as we left, this is an exemplary example of how hospitality/service should be done. Ben, hopefully you are extremely proud of the team you have put together and the establishment you have made over the past two years. Very well done and thank you for your hospitality. If we are ever in town again, this will DEFINITELY be a stop that we make. Cheers.

We eventually joined the monthly bottle membership, which probably says everything about how often this place works for us. The bruschetta boards are generously portioned with enough variety to lean savory, sweet or somewhere deliciously in between, and they pair perfectly with an easy bottle of wine. It's casual enough for a spontaneous stop but still feels polished enough to make an ordinary evening feel like a treat. One of the highlights is when they open the large bar windows and the whole space shifts into that indoor-outdoor mode. You can sit inside, outside or right along the open-air edge and enjoy the best of both. We've even come here after a full dinner somewhere else just to linger, lounge and finish the night with another pour. Postino has easily become a San Antonio spot for relaxed sips, shareable bites and easy neighborhood vibes.

Not sure what their vibes or theme is. Kinda just plain. One bartender and she was kinda spacey and ppl were flagging her down for service. There was a man next to us at the bar and he was clearly a regular. He knew bartenders name and she knew his and the conversation was more professional / business customer service than friend. He said his meatballs didn't taste normal or good and I heard the bartender tell him either the chef quit or is on vacation and someone else was back there. He sent it back but was trying to tell her he didn't want another one but she got a manager and came out they said they were sorry and making him another one. Not sure if I went on a one off but I doubt I'll be back if in the area.

It's mostly all sort of one big open concept area including the kitchen so it can feel a teensie bit hot on the kitchen half. There's also only 1 shareable bathroom for everyone in the restaurant. So much of the food was delicious. I'm still thinking about the current seasonal soup. It was some kind of puréed white bean soup. Needed to be a tiny bit hotter but if I was a local I would absolutely be going there just to place a to go order for soup on the regular. For me, the fish taste on the Cesar salad was slightly overpowering. As someone that doesn't like fish, that part was off putting to me. The pizza was phenomenal, carrots were amazing, drinks were delicious. The deviled eggs were also very nice. Service staff was super friendly though some things were missed when we first placed the order and we waited quite a while for the soup which ended up not being hot enough. Overall if I'm ever in the area again, I would definitely consider returning and trying some other items.

I grew up in a family that did not believe in ordering spaghetti in a restaurant. My grandmother,…read morethough Irish, lived with an Italian family from the age of twelve when her father lost everything they owned to gambling. The family that took her in taught my grandmother all about Italian cooking, some of which she passed down to her daughters. Her spaghetti sauce, which she called gravy, was the best. My mother's sauce was just as good. Therefore, we never ate spaghetti out because we knew it wouldn't be as good. Last night, I was hungry for Italian food. Spaghetti was far from my mind. However, a super two for one deal on Door Dash enticed me to order spaghetti with Italian sausage from Albi's Vite Italian Kitchen. It arrived in two foil pans with plastic domed lids. There was enough food in those two servings for me to eat four meals! When I took the lid off, I could not believe how many slices of Italian sausage were on top of the spaghetti. The marinara sauce looked kind of plain and simple but was surprisingly flavorful. I was able to eat a slice of sausage with every bite. That combined with the chunky tomato pieces in the sauce made for a very satisfying meal. Was it the best spaghetti I've ever had? No. Would I order it when I visit the restaurant in person? No. But it was good enough to make me ready to try other dishes on their menu. I think they will most likely blow me away. The reheated portion I had for lunch today was even better! The pasta absorbed a lot of the tomato flavor. I think my next batch will be fried in a tiny bit of butter the way my mother did it when she had leftovers.

I was excited to check this place out because I had heard good things. Unfortunately, I feel like…read moreit's a bit overhyped. As far as the food, we had the fried mozzarella, which was essentially a log of cheese deep-fried and served over sauce. It was delicious, but the cheese-to-crust ratio was a bit heavy. The Caesar salad looked better than it tasted. It was very wet, if that makes sense, and the lettuce seemed soggy. Now for the Wagyu ragu. This almost made me have a seizure, and not in a good way. It was extremely salty and completely inedible, so we had to send it back. The waitstaff was very accommodating and agreed that the salt level was way off, so we replaced it with the carbonara. I'm not sure if that's what authentic carbonara is supposed to taste like, but I did not enjoy it. It tasted burnt to me and had too much pepper. I also didn't care for the shape of the noodles. Last, we had the Americano pizza. It was decent, but nothing to write home about. I just think that if you're going to advertise a pizza with meat on it, there should be more than one piece of sausage per slice. As far as the service, our server was fine. Not particularly friendly, but straightforward and efficient. The manager (or another server) was helpful when it came to replacing our dish. Overall, I would not go back. The location is great and the vibe is nice, but the food was a miss. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The first night I was greeted by a friendly host and sat at the bar, where Billy took great care of me. He recommended the Cotto e Salsiccia, and I'm so glad he did. It was easily one of the best pizzas I've had. While I was there, the cheesemaker let me try a bite of the fresh mozzarella they were making in-house. It was still warm and absolutely delicious. The next night I was feeling a little homesick after being away for work, and all I could think about was that pizza. I walked back in and the host greeted me by name. I sat at the bar again, where another bartender remembered me from the night before, and Billy came over just to say hi. It seems like such a small thing, but when you're traveling alone, being welcomed back like that can completely change your evening. What really impressed me was seeing that it wasn't just me. The guy next to me ordered two pizzas to go, and when the chef brought them out he smiled and said, "Oh, Jose! I thought this order looked familiar!" You can tell they actually know their regulars and genuinely enjoy what they do. The second night I ordered the Fontina e Salsiccia, and somehow it was just as good as the first pizza. Everything is cooked in the wood-fired oven--even the wings--and you can taste the difference. The crust has that perfect char, the ingredients are fresh, and it's the kind of authentic Neapolitan pizza that keeps you thinking about it long after you've left. I've eaten at a lot of good restaurants while traveling, but very few have made me feel as welcome as Dough did. Great food is one thing. Great people are what made me come back the very next day. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in San Antonio.
