We recently visited Casa Pantera for the second time with a large group seated outdoors on the back patio--our favorite location. We love the outdoor patio as it's a little more subdued than the high-energy vibe (louder) vibe indoors. Our experience on both visits was fantastic--greeted by enthusiastic host, table was ready when/as reserved, and server was especially efficient and professional during our more recent visit. Drinks took a while--the place was full even at 6:00 early seating, but the server was on top of everything and the kitchen was, too. Appetizers came out quickly, even before the drinks, but nobody ever complains when food comes out fast! A large complicated assortment of salads and entrees followed with perfect timing and exactly as ordered, the weather was cooperative, and the experience could not have been any better. So- I wanted to take my family from out of town to Casa Pantera for what has been described as 'a hidden gem' in El Paso, and treat them to a nice dinner. Made my reservation on Open Table for 5pm the morning they were to arrive, only to find out about 2 hours later that Snow in Maryland caused them to be delayed by over 4 hours. There is no contact number for this restaurant. I found a number associated with it, but nobody has answered. What restaurant on the planet that offers 'fine dining' doesn't call to confirm reservations, have at least someone in the front of the house before the restaurant opens, or has no listed telephone number. So I guess I'm just going to eat this $125 no show charge (25/person), since nobody that works there can bother answering the phone. read more

Great experience, the food was excellent! Fast friendly service, drinks offered throughout dinner. The ambiance was nice, only complaint is the table next to us had a baby that wouldn't stop crying, the parents kept trying to console him but it just wasn't happening. I don't think I was the only one bothered by it... especially cause we were seated outside and even with the heaters it got chilly plus it was almost 10pm. Firstly the place is beautiful, photo op worthy if you are into that. It's surprisingly bigger than we thought. We ordered the Connecticut oysters(12) for $30, which is reasonable for oysters, however for a place that stands tall on its quality of ingredients and food....my partner got food poisoning from one of them for sure. She noted it smelled funny at the start, took a bite and immediately regretted it. She pushed through the rest of our dinner when we had to cut the check and leave. Long story short, with drinks, two items in the menu, our total came out to $120 + gratuity that was added. I will never pay that much at restaurant that pats itself on the back for supposedly high quality of ingredients and delivers something entirely different. Needless to say, it's overrated, overpriced, and is an Instagram influencer dream of a false reality unfortunately. We celebrated my husband last night at Casa Pantera and I am so happy we found this place! Our waiter Nick was awesome and contributed to our perfect evening. The Roasted Cauliflower was perfectly cooked and presented (that sauce was insanely delish) but the star of the evening was the Hawaiian Walu Ceviche- I honestly don't think I've ever tasted anything so perfectly flavorful and balanced. Looking at other reviews, it's crazy to see anything less than 4 stars. My wife and I had made reservations and we were seated quickly on a quiet Thursday evening. We were greeted soon after with water and an explanation of the menu. Ordered our drinks and appetizers and I will say that both drinks and the food took a bit to come out but what people forget to realize is that the food is made fresh. The quality of ingredients shows in the food. We had, in order that we liked them, the tamal, bone marrow, oysters, mussels and the ceviche. Everything was so freaking good! This was the best Veracruzana I have ever had. It was served with halibut, shrimp and mussels. The flavor was incredible and had such a good blend of lime and spices. Very very disappointed in the food I got for this INSANE price. First off, this place has different standards when it comes to the cook of their steak. Their medium rare is literally COLD RED inside and it is very hit or miss whether they salt their steak good or not....they claim they undercook their steak so it can be "reheated" if it's too rare. Shouldn't my $70 steak be cooked properly the first time? been here 3 times and honestly will never go back. Went here for a private party and had a wonderful evening. Love the ambiance, it gave me California vibes. The food & drinks were good but way too overpriced. The sangria was great but it tasted a bit like mulled wine (which I like). The service is slow but I appreciated not being rushed. The wait just made us order more drinks & this was great for the mood. We were there to celebrate and we definitely celebrated! The regular dining area was packed. Visited Casa Pantera this weekend and everything was absolutely exceptional! My green goddess cocktail was amazing and unlike anything I've ever had, both the roasted cauliflower and mesquite grilled octopus were so flavorful, and my petite filet was cooked to absolute perfection. The aguachiles are pretty good, it had a salmon base. The salsa macha gave it a nice touch, I don't think I would have thought of it going together. As for the entree, I got a short rib. It was quite tender. The tortillas that came with it were very good. The bone marrow appetizer was excellent as well. However, the serving method was a little inconvenient. Took a while to actually get seated, It was a busy night and I understand tables. My biggest gripe about Casa Pantera was the unexpected disappointment. We didn't get our preserved and cooked appetizer for 30mins. Presentation was ok and it was no doubt delicious and spicy for an El Paso pallet. It should not take 35 min for an appetizer. The drinks were absolutely delicious( Michoacana Mule & Proper Sour) and unique! We decided to get the chicken, I had never tasted a more flavorless chicken, Don Carbon and Pollo Feliz have way better chicken, it had no flavor at all, DO NOT RECOMMEND.
