Bone marrow, served with tortillas
James B.

Amazing food, great service, and a lot of ambiance. It was a practically perfect dining experience. I have wanted to try Casa Pantera for a long time, having heard so many great things about it. I'm glad I finally got the chance to experience it myself. Yes, it's a little pricey, but it's one of the better dining experiences I've had anywhere, EPTX or otherwise. I look forward to going back to try other dishes. So far, the pork chop and bone marrow were delectable.

Casa Pantera is always a great ambience, we went while the weather was a bit chilly and the server made sure we had heater by the open patio! We ordered a little bit of everything and shared family style. The short rib beef was fall apart delicious. The ceviche seemed small but it was really never ending, we all kept going for more!

The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. The services provided by the professional management and staff are the main reasons that we keep coming back. The old world elegance is a rare thing, and we value their focus to make sure that everything about the dining experience is excellent. I highly recomend Casa Pantera!

Food was unique and seasoned perfectly. Everything we ate was delicious and cocktails were too! Staff was nice but a little slow serving. Gave us time to enjoy the ambiance.

If I could rate it a 4.6, I definitely would. Here is why... my boyfriend arrived slightly before 6 pm, and there were well over half of the small (2 person) tables open, but hostess said they were reserved and the only table available was a corner outside that the sun hits directly on it (currently 90°). We decline, she offers the bar. So we sit, and order. Meals are no less than $40-$80 for any good meal, so to sit at the bar having more than half the restaurant empty is a bit disrespectful. So we ask hostess after having ordered food and drinks if there was a reservation cancellation to please move us and sure enough within 3 min, she found a beautiful booth outside in a shaded area with a cool breeze. We got our food immediately and the rest of the experience was wonderful! The drinks are made with daily fresh squeezed juice, food had amazing presentation and a very unique taste! The gentleman who brought the food provided all the details of the food, how it was made and what was in it. I had the salmon and it was delicious, my boyfriend had the beef spare ribs which were also delicious, extremely juicy and tender. We left at 6:45 pm and the restaurant was filled just about the same as when we got there. They could have lost out on business if WE hadn't asked to be seated at a table several times. I think the service up front needs to improve, as we could have been sat at any empty table, unless you have 20+ reservations for 6 pm. Aside from that, the bar folks were amazing and so were the wait staff. Now the ambiance is gorgeous, kind of California vibe with fully open windows, lots of palm trees and greenery, great lighting, fans blowing outside, heaters installed for winter, wooden floors, great color schemes and decor, very modern and clean! This place is an old home remodeled beautifully! We may consider returning.

It was a crowded Saturday and we did not have reservations. We sat at the bar outside but the music was too loud so we moved to the inside bat. The bartender was really nice and helpful. The food was really good. The tamal was a bit on the sweet side, a tad bit dry but very tasty. The cauliflower was really tasty but it was really heavy on my stomach because i normally don't eat oil, probably everyone else could tolerate this. The drink was good, one of their signature cocktails

We're in town and our hosts made reservations here for Saturday night. I'm so glad they did! The place itself is very cool and interesting looking. I wish it would have been easier to take photos there, but it just didn't work out. It's really pretty and different. There was fairly loud music playing, but not so loud you couldn't hear the people at our table or our server. The service was great! We learned a little about the restaurant. Our server was also very good at explaining the different flavors in the food and the cocktails. I feel like the pacing of the meal was pretty good as well. The food and the cocktails were enjoyed by all of us. I had the short ribs and they were good, but I feel like the dish needed a little more something - like a little sauce maybe. We were a little surprised that a gratuity had been added to our bill since we a group of only four people. Our server did tell us when he brought the bill, but we weren't expecting it. I'm not sure what percentage it was. I'd definitely go back!

Tucked away, you can find this restaurant if you follow the disco lights. There is street parking available. Reservations are highly encouraged because it does get busy even on a weekday. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Inside is very dimly lit and due to the small space, it's really hard to converse with others. They have a rotating seasonal menu hence why it was very hard to find a menu ahead of time. While there are many delicious dishes available, their most popular entrees are their steaks. Majority of their dishes are Oaxacan inspired. The seafood we had was very fresh and delicious--the ceviche and grilled octopus. The bone marrow was sublime, I could've only eaten that all night. The head of cauliflower was perfectly charred and seasoned. Their wine selection is great. However, I found their sangria to be lacking. Their duck dish was amazing, especially paired with the onion jam and mole. The duck was cooked absolutely perfectly! Overall, a great spot to go to for occasions because it is pricey.

Amazing ambiance, great client service. The food was ridiculously good with amazing presentation. Super friendly servers. I seriously could have had this food in a 5-star Michelin star restaurant in DF México city. And the Oaxacan mole with steak! Out. Of.this.world.

Shrimp Cocktail

Great meal with 5-star service. Gabriel was attentive but it seemed like every other waiter and waitress checked on us. The food was phenomenal. Smokey, rich, interesting. We started with octopus appetizer and my spouse said he'd eat it as his last meal. We followed it with the tamal which was my fav dish. Every bit was better than the last. We also shared the Shrimp cocktail (spicy in a good way) and Veracruzano. Both were delicious! Atmosphere is festive without being unwelcoming.

Tamale appetizer on-top of butternut squash puree, mushrooms, and pickled onions. It was delicious.

Since I was with folks who grew up in the adjacent neighborhood we all appreciated the house being repurposed with thought and they have done a nice job turning into a quaint bar with a large patio area. Decor/vibe - 5* The overall vibe of this place is great. We visited on a weekend and there was a live jazz band, who were quite good though it is definitely loud inside during that time. If you have an Apple Watch it will complain to you about the dB registering over 85 for sustained periods of time. In this instance it was about 90-100 the entire time we were there. Throughout the inside there are tabletops with seating and standing, the bar is long without overcrowding the seating which is a nice touch for those sitting at the bar vs those simply trying to order a drink at the bar. There is plenty of area to stand or sit out on the patio as well and one can still hear the live band which makes for a great ambiance. I'd recommend the patio area as the vibe out there is great. There is a bar service area outside connected to the interior bar area though it was not actively setup when we visited. Well thought and makes service streamlined without running between patrons. Food & Drink - 4* The drinks we had were good though nothing on the menu is super "craft" cocktail if that's what you're after. The wine and beer selection is decent as well. Service - 5* The bartenders are very attentive and did a great job balancing the number of people without service times being too long. Pricing - 4* Subjective but IMO nothing is over the top and the service was quick. Overall - 4.5* This is a cute and quaint cocktail bar for those who may be in a group or just taking a date after a meal nearby. I'd recommend visiting and we will all certainly be back!

Adjacent to the The Tiki Room, Pearl Divers features a rotating list of oysters from different regions at $3 a pop. We had the chance to try all three oysters that they were featuring for the day and we really enjoyed the palette. The oysters featured might've been limited but they had a major punch to them with flavor. My favorite were the ones that were a bit more briny, truly small but mighty. Your oysters are brought out with the traditional crackers, hot sauce, mignonette sauce, horseradish, and lemons. It was nice for them to all folks the chance to order in any quantity as I'm sure a few folks might be trying oysters for the very first time in a landlocked city. The had a finessed menu featuring carpaccio, tartare, and about ten to fifteen dishes encompassing appetizers to main entrees. We had ordered the carpaccio but it never came out (no biggie, again it was soft opening so we came in with an open mind). Since we got there a bit later in the day, they were out of frites and I am a loyal fan of oysters, frites, and bubbles (wine at the minimum). This just means we'll have to be back. What was most important to me though was the service and how friendly the staff was. We opted to sit at the bar (as one should at an Oyster bar) and be as close to the oyster display as possible. I used to live in New Orleans for a few years so sometimes when it's busier and you're chatting away they'll shuck an extra one to you every so often to try. I'm pretty stoked to see the dining scene continuously elevating and Pearl Divers is a nice rendition. I'll be certain to come back and can't wait to see what a five-star experience is out of their soft opening phase. *** If there is one piece of feedback I'd provide is to have smaller spoons for the mignonette and forks for the oysters. The current sizes are a bit too large and can easily ruin the integrity of the oyster when making sure it's been properly separated and not intact, as well as, not being able to have the right ratio of mignonette sauce for each oyster. The spoon was constantly hitting the mouth of the condiment cup.

So I, of course, feeling the need always to explore new cocktail bars or restaurants in my hometown when visiting home, was pretty excited for the opportunity to check out Hush Hush. As a true millennial Gemini, I celebrate my birthday for the whole month, so I quickly texted my family and friends; this is where I wanted to go. What I love about Hush Hush is how it's encouraging and pushing folks to step out of their comfort zone in their attire and dress more to the vibes of this cocktail house (Think Soho, ABA, Casablanca, and Elephante). You're bound to see more desert tones, muted colors, flowy pants, basically anything resort wear. It's cool to see this cocktail house make you feel like you're not in El Paso. The music is different, more loungey, to where you can hear everyone at your table. Of course, there's still a DJ, but damn, Hush Hush is intentionally geared for those who love to go out but need top-shelf cocktails without the eye rolls or the bartenders staring at us with blank eyes. Hush Hush is a true game changer. The lines might get crazy, but I suggest getting there early so you can snag your photos and a solid table/spot. There are three main bar areas, but my fave was the velvet room. I suggest catching a drink on the second floor if you get there early enough to get an eagle eye's view of the establishment. Attention to detail was on point, and I appreciated the homework and research done before the opening of this spot. It's an elevated experience for the city and one I wish every city in the States had tbh.
