I'm not kidding when I say that I'm surprised that Casa Olé, especially this location, still exists. My friend, an elementary school music teacher, suggested we come here for dinner after his students' Christmas pageant to which my jaw dropped. I haven't been to this CO in 17 years when I used to work in Pasadena. That's a mighty long time! Safe to say that yesterday marked the second time I ate here. The restaurant seemed slightly bigger from when I was here the first time ... in 2007. A lot can change in nearly decades. With that said, the eatery appeared to have undergone some remodeling as well. Even the menu was different; there are even more selections now compared to what I remember. After perusing the menu online before we got here, I decided to get the spinach enchiladas. If I were to describe the platter in one word, I'd use creamy. The kitchen staff apparently had fun adding cheese and sauce to the mix. The enchiladas happened to overtake the rice and beans that accompanied them. I fairly enjoyed the meal. And as a few of you on Yelp know, I have a theory about Mexican and TexMex places: if their chips and salsa are good then their main items are also good. That can apply to CO. read more

When my husband and I want Tex-Mex, we often end up at Casa Olé. I WILL start by saying that we usually order take out so my review will not be of the restaurant itself. I like the options that they have. The stuffed avocado is one of my favorites. The wet burrito is a favorite of both my husband and myself, and you can never go wrong with enchiladas. I like the fact that I always have left over food so it's multiple meals for me at a good price. I don't have much else to say because I can't speak on the service or the restaurant cleanliness, but whenever we go in to get our food, the front area and what we can see if the restaurant always seems clean. The cashiers are friendly and we never have to wait long for our order. I usually don't have a problem with my order either. There was 1 time when they just forgot to give me beans altogether which I thought was weird because they didn't give extra rice either. There was just an empty section in my take out box... but it is the only problem that I can ever remember having, so I won't take off a star for a one-time mistake. Overall, I'd say give it a try if you like Tex-Mex. I recommend the wet burrito if you want a whole meal shoved inside a tortilla and topped with enchilada sauce, shredded cheese, chili con carne, charro beans, chile con queso, and jalapeños. The taQuito I had was delicious. The chips were stale. The service I received I wasn't that thrilled with. I ordered as soon as she came over to the table because I knew exactly what I wanted. My water had a bug in it ewww. I asked for chips and salsa Togo right before I paid. BETTY only brought me a Togo box for my food and a small bag of chips no salsa and no containers to bag up the salsa. The ambiance was nice it wasn't too busy. I had the mind to not tip but I just tipped less than I would've normally tipped. Because she did serve me she just didn't leave me EVER wanting to have her as my server again. I asked for some better hotter salsa and the waitress responded "I know the salsa is like ketchup, but that is all we have." I ordered the fajitas for two, usual fare. Someone explain to me why the empty restaurant had filthy tables and smelled of a dirty restroom. WHY? 2. The salad is delicious even dry. (I started this diet, I didn't break down on day one, I give no promises on day two) but I wanted olive oil and vinaigrette they had neither. I have never been on a "diet". Maybe I'm irritable. Had a fantastic meal at Casa Olé. They were running with a skeleton crew since this was the 2nd day of the big freeze, and not every place was open today. But you certainly couldn't tell it! I had the Laredo dinner my dad had the Ambassador - 2 old school favorite Updating my review and dropping it a couple of stars. Eating in is wonderful. But picking food up to eat at home during this Corona virus time sucks. I expect to get red sauce, green sauce and a bunch of chips exactly like I would if I ate in. Not happening. We got a lunch bag of chips because we ordered a large queso. We 2 received 2 tiny red sauces and ZERO green sauce (the good stuff). We ordered 3.5 dinners. I feel that this is a less than average Tex-mex place. The beans and rice looked and tasted like they were from an episode of Kitchen Nightmare's before Gordon Ramsey fixes the restaurant. I got the mixed fajita and both meats were almost a rubbery texture. You get what you pay for honestly. If I were you I'd save up a little extra just for Lupe's Tortilla. Let me start by saying that we are big casa ole fans and we frequent the Pearland location. We were in Pasadena and close to this location so since it was convenient we placed a to go order. The staff was semi friendly and the food was good. I did not realize that different locations charge different prices and have differences in their menus. We love the tortilla soup from Pearland and that's what I thought I was ordering but we got a chicken tortilla soup. I went and looked at the menu and they don't even have the regular tortilla soup, that explains that. At this location a choice of soup doesn't come with fajitas especial either. The biggest difference is the queso. The large at this location is $15.40 and the small is $8.70. I will attach a picture for reference the red sauce in the picture is a pint and the queso next to it is the small or half pint. I will also attach a pic of our plates and the menu from this location and the pearland with prices so that you can see the difference. read more

Just left this restaurant - I walked in at 4:25, and by 4:40, no one had come to my table. The lunch hour was over. The wait staff walked all around but not once did anyone come close enough for me to even flag down. So no chips, no drink, no nothing. Just no. Don't go here. If you want Casa Ole drive a little further to the one in Deer Park, just keep going down Spencer until you pass Center street and it's on your right. Where to start. I have been here twice since they opened this location, which was early 2014 I believe. I used to visit the Casa Ole when it was back towards HWY 3 and never had any problems. Always good food and service. I don't know what happened when they moved but here's the problems I recall with my visits: 1) Bad Margaritas- they are very sour just get beer instead if you want an adult beverage or be ready for heartburn 2) The wait staff seems to care less that you are there. I had two different people wait on me. They don't check on you, fill up your drink, take your order, bring your food. And when you're sitting there with a small child that cant get something to drink you remember that 'ish. If you cant please my 6 year old we aren't coming back. There's plenty of other places that are family friendly I can spend my money at. 3) They gave us the wrong food. Ordered chicken fajitas and got beef. 4) charged us for a kids meal when I had a coupon.
