What a treat. After eating a number of different meals in Portugal, this was a delightful different dinner. We started with a appetizer from the house. We then dined on grilled lamb and paneer masala. The lamb was tender and flavorful. The paneer was delicious and the sauce was out of this world. We had asked for medium spice and it was perfect. It came with a side of rice. The two dishes were perfect for a meal for two. The house then gave us a delicious port as an after dinner drink.

Simple, tasty lentil soup. Not amazing, but solid. Whole Wheat Roti came out piping hot and perfect. Their Saag Paneer was our favorite (it's the brown 'n' green kind). The Mixed Vegetable Curry wasn't anything special, but the 'Kukhura Ra Bholte Khursani' (a la Chicken Jalfrezi) was superbly fresh - the gingery, tomato-based sauce was delicious and was almost Italian tasting. A nice surprise. A not so nice surprise was the surprise cover charge which the waiter said was for the two 'complimentary' hot bites that were served to us at the start of the meal. A meat dumpling and a small samosa.

    Great Atmosphere!!!

The restaurant decor instantly transported us from urban Lisbon to a stone-walled, heavy-timber framed mountain lodge high up in the Himalayas. The staff are native to Nepal and are friendly and very knowledgeable. The lamb and prawn dishes were incredible. The bottle of vino verde was inexpensive any complimented our food choices very nicely. Bon Appetite!

    Spicy and hot!! Love it!!

What a nice find! We love Indian/Nepalese food and were delighted to stumble upon this place on yelp as a nice "diversion" from all the tapas and Portuguese food we'd been eating for the last week. And wow, was it good!! A gorgeous interior is at once welcoming and comfortable. Service was terrific and attentive. And the food? Amazing! The garlic roti was warm and soft, as it should be. I was talked out of ordering my first choice, the chicken with chili, because the waiter said it was incredibly hot. After dismissing the initial warning about the one chili dip served initially only to be brought to tears when I went ahead with a big bite, I thought discretion was the better choice. And the recommended substitute with the tomatoes and green peppers was fabulous. A lot of heat but still a ton of flavor. The wine was excellent, and the surprise at the end was a complimentary glass of ruby port to serve as dessert. This place is awesome! More like 4 1/2 stars!! Highly recommend!!

Beautiful interior. Warm & inviting space.

Fabulous find on a quiet street in Lisbon. The interior is beautiful with old stone walls and beamed wooden ceilings. I got the impression this is a family owned restaurant and everyone was nicely attentive and spoke English fluently. Menus are in Portuguese with an English translation below each item. Most importantly, the food is amazing! I ordered chicken with fresh mushrooms and asparagus in curry sauce as my entree. This is a dish I'd order again in a heartbeat. The vegetables were so fresh and the curry was delightfully flavorful and spiced. We started our meal with 3 dipping sauces (mint, tamarind & hot sauce) and papadam. They really brought the heat with their hot sauce! In fact my husband was cautioned against ordering a super hot dish until he tasted that hot sauce. He's a guy who can really handle heat & decided to switch from the chili chicken to a tomato curry dish that had a perfect amount of heat and spice for his tastes. Excellent recommendations from our waiter! Our waiter asked us how we had discovered their restaurant at the end of our meal. He wasn't familiar with Yelp, so we gave him some information about it. He was so delighted when we explained we'd be writing reviews that he brought us 2 glasses of Ruby Port to finish off our meal! 4 1/2 Stars!

Very nice place, small but very cosy. The food was very good, different than usual. The service was great. You should make a reservation if you are planning to go on the weekends, it gets busy . The mango icecream was really good.

Went on a weeknight and there were a few tables open. Staff was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Food was outstanding. The titular momo is worth an order or more; think steamed dumplings. The real stars of the starters were the Aloo Jeera (sautéed potatoes with onion, simple but incredible) and the Chana Chat (delicious chickpeas with just the right firmness, texture, and taste). If you like spice, try the Tea Momo: braided steamed buns which are bready and bland on their own, but the perfect vehicle to soak up the juicy, spicy vegetables that come with it and really pack a punch. The Chicken Curry, on the other hand, was not at all spicy as expected, but still subtly layered with rich and satisfying flavors and some of the best I've ever had. The Thukpa, traditional Tibetan noodle soup, was another tasty choice. A nice break from traditional Portuguese food, and some of the best in the city overall. Also, when the bill came my dad called it "reasonable" -- which is his way of saying it was really cheap. Would be worth twice the cost!

I would definitely recommend the stir fry-- it was very tasty. The momos are a south Asian dumpling that were worth a try. You can choose from chicken, pork, and vegetarian. The prawn curry was a little too salty for my taste. All in all the meal was very affordable, the service was really prompt & I would recommend this restaurant if you want a change in palette!

Being Indian, the food was very similar in terms of taste, but portions and servings could've been better. The dishes came in little copper pots that were fairly small, and you have to order the rice separately, and also the naan. Again this is probably an American thing where the curry dishes come with rice, but still worth noting. Not only were the portions small, but they also didn't have many pieces of meat or paneer in them. It was basically like 1 per person. Which is unfortunate because that means there is basically more curry than anything else. Taste wise it was great, and they were very accommodating for the kids spice level as well as brought out a sample dish to ensure it met the adults spice level also which was very much appreciated so it could be enjoyable for all. We ordered the chicken tikka for the kids which they loved, and the chicken karai (it was spicy but good), garlic naan, lamb korma, and the saag paneer. The waiter was nice enough to explain to us the different spice levels and differences between Indian and Nepalese food so we could order accordingly. Great staff, very polite, the place isn't fancy or very big, just a family business. However we finished all the food and would suggest you try it out if you're in the area nearby.

Well, I found one! Get ready to have your socks blown off! This is the stop you too have been searching for. Located an a quiet side street is the best Nepalese food you might find in Lisbon. Extremely small, limited seating, and extremely kind service will have you ooohing and awwwwing like me. So much so, I ended up ordering way too much food because I wanted to try a ton of items. I ended up with the butter chicken, garlic and cheese naan, and some fried pork buns and the best coffee I have had in a very long time. This is worth a short trip north to get out of the city center. Prepare your stomach to be stuffed with some of the best Nepalese food of your life. Big statement, I know, true statement, you bet.

After seeing…read moreseveral "Nepalese" style restaurants on our Lisbon excursion (to my surprise/delight), I was pumped to get some of this food. On our way out of the city, we stumbled across this little gem near the Alameda Metro spot and the Parque Fonte Luminosa! After walking around Lisbon during the early hours of the day I worked up quite the appetite ;-) This authentic spot really satisfied my yearning for Nepalese food and left me wanting to try everything! I descended the few steps into this cute little establishment and was greeted by a very lovely Nepalese native. She spoke English and was able to answer my questions. Because of time constraints, I ordered the food "for take away". The plato do dia was a great option for during and included the entree with rice, a bottled cooler drink (wide selection), and (a strong enough to out hair on your chest) coffee for €6.50. There were four options: a chicken mango dish, a shrimp curry dish, vegetable korma dish, and tandoori chicken. All sounded intriguing but I chose to have the shrimp curry HOT style. Yes, you can adjust your spice preference here which I discovered much to my delight :-D The food, although quoted 12 minutes, came out in half that time. While I waited I selected my beverage from the cooler case and had the small cup of coffee that accompanied the meal--no milk and sugar on the side. After that, I was wired for the day. My meal came out piping hot and I even was able to get a plastic utensil to take (rare in Europe). I positioned the sturdy take out bag in my shoulder bag and when I got to the international bus station it was still contained in the bag which I appreciated (no leakage). When it came time to eat my meal (half an hour later) it was still warm and delicious--full of tender yet not mushy vegetables and succulent shrimp without heads or tails for me to remove (sissy style-the way I expect). The curry was red in color and had an excellent spice profile, it was hot without being overly H-O-T. Portion was a good size but left me wanting more. I would definitely revisit the Nepal Curry House next time I visit Lisbon. If I lived there, I'd be tempted to eat here 3x a week for sure! Thank you, NCH, for exceeding my expectations! :-)
