This Tex Mex restaurant is a great place to have lunch. The fajitas for two where delicious and the margaritas hit the spot. Staff was excellent and very attentive. Another good thing is we didn't have to wait long for our food to be served. read more

Have been going to them for over 10 years (the plano West location also)! Amazing service, food, drinks... Has NEVER disappointed!

This the closest Mexican Restaurant to my home. My favorite appetizer is the Spinach Tamale. Never had anything like it anywhere else. Try the Mexican Enchiladas w/ Mexican Queso, quite filling. The Tilapia/Shrimp is wonderful, My son has tried the two pasta dishes and enjoyed them. my two men also enjoy the Macacos Burger. There's so much more. Don't miss desert...Chocolate Cake is good, Chocolate & Coconut Flans are great. Weekend Brunches are next to try. I hear the pancakes are good. You get greeted by a very hospitable staff.. the wait staff as well as the proprieters. They want to know if you are enjoying your meal. You really don't get a chance much to wave your hand to say you you need something. They are usually on the mark for all. Definitely a place to come to often!!!! read more

This place is AMAZING! ^_^ and the hospitality is wondering! There's never been a disappointing moment when dining out with family and friends. I recommend this place to anyone who's looking to eat authentic real Mexican food. read more

Always a good, quick meal with very fast service; we have eaten here for over two years, and NEVER had one bad meal; Waitstaff very friendly and efficient -- always accommodating even if you have special requests! read more

Loved it. Just moved to the area and stopped by for dinner with family. Great food, impeccable service. Will be going back.

This is a great location for us. Literally less than a good city block, to be fair we tried it a couple different times, we really would love to have this option so close so we could just stroll down, unfortunately we have found it to be average at best, which was disappointing for us, I marked a 3 but as stated above average. read more

Been here many times. Great food. Great service. Great prices. Never had a bad meal. Best sour cream enchiladas ever! Your salsa will never run low. read more

Well, I have only been once but I will give a detailed review. Some people will go back to a Mexican restaurant just for the salsa. The salsa at Casa Mama is a 4 out of 5 on the hot scale. I like hot so it was fine with me but I was drinking a ton of water and my brow was sweating. Also, they bring the salsa in something the size of a shot glass, literally it is the size of a shot glass. I had to have them refill at least 5 times and I was alone. When I go to a Mexican restaurant for the first time I like to try the enchiladas, rice, beans and a crispy taco. Well, this is where everything went wrong. Lets start with the taco, I think they make their own shells right there, mine was overcooked, when I bit into it, it shattered into about 10 pieces and was all over my hands. They had brought out some oily sauce for the taco but it was not good. The cheese enchiladas had what they called chili poured over them, it looked and tasted like wet runny hamburger meat. This was not good at all. The cheese inside was solid like it had not melted or was not the kind that melted?? I have no idea what that was. I think it was the first time I have ever not finished my enchiladas in my life. The rice and beans were standard if not above average. I enjoyed putting them on a chip with salsa more than the other parts of the meal. I am sure there are good items on their menu, I normally would go back and try other things but without some advice I do not want to waste my money. read more

My first test of any Mexican restaurant, when available, is their mole. Here it is a complex, non-chocolate sauce, made in-house with 6 or 7 different roasted chilies, peanuts, sesame seeds and even some bread. It is just great and the chicken over which it was served was tender, not over cooked. The salsa provided with the chips also demonstrates the care and pride Casa Mama takes in all their preparation. The margaritas are made with hand squeezed limes and pack a solid amount to tequila too. The owner Manuel, was so attentive to all the customers, he makes the place immediately welcoming and keeps it running smoothly. The ONLY flaw was a mediocre chocolate flan. I prefer flan when made in individual cups and with bit of crusty glaze over the top. Forget the desert then but I'll be back next week to try something else and this place will be my regular go-to for sit down Mexican with drinks. No yellow cheese here, definitely not Tex-mex. read more

We have been here a few times and I really do enjoy the food! I order their top shelf margaritas which are pretty strong( for me)! Totally worth the extra $! The people are super friendly and we have never had bad service. I would recommend this place to friends! read more

Outstanding local restaurant with friendly service! Love the food and drinks at Casa Mama. Javier has waited on us on several visits and he makes us feel welcome and appreciated! Thank you Javier for your excellent service!! read more

Best Mexican food in town. Fantastic food and excellent service. We've tried nearly all everything on the menu and have never been disappointed, great place. read more

My son and I saw the reviews on yelp and wanted to try today. The meal was the best I had in a long time. The service was great! The meal was served fast and hot. Chip and salsa were never gone. The drink were good. I had brisket enchiladas and my son had the chile rellenos. It was very good! We read about the coconut flan and it was awesome. If you are looking for a great meal, please don't hesitate to come to Casa Mama. read more

I consider myself a TexMex enthusiast. I'm from south Texas and lived in San Antonio quite a while. Casa Mama is my go to for my TexMex comfort food/fix! Get the Adrian's Special, no question. Every Mexican food restaurant should have an entree combining queso and fajitas, end of story. Their sweet tea also meets my southern expectations. Service is excellent and speedy as well!! Love Casa Mama!! read more

Great Authentic Mexican, But Order Carefully. This place has some fantastic food. I went with six other people and all of them were raving about their food. My order was not great, but I believe I ordered incorrectly. I ordered the Enchiladas Mexicanas and even though the description was 100% accurate, it was not what I was expecting. Nevertheless, tasting everyone else's plates makes me excited to go back. read more

Both times I've been the food was good. Salsa is addictingly spicy. People are very friendly and homey atmosphere.

I love the mojito they serve here. Food is good as well but I mostly come here for the mojitos !#

The food is lit I love it. The owners are extremely kind too. Oh and Carmen is smoking hot.

Went to lunch with my co-workers here and was impressed! It didn't look like much from the outside (as is the case with most strip mall establishments) but it was actually quite cute on the inside. I don't remember much about the chips and salsa other than it was fine but what was awesome was the little tostada they bring everyone. For a little freebie, it was super flavorful with the beans, salsa, and romaine lettuce (which is always a welcome sight as I hate shredded iceberg!) 3/5 of us got the brisket enchiladas basically because they sounded so unusual - they were actually mashed potato filled enchiladas with brisket, onions, mushrooms on top with a creamy green sauce underneath. I tasted some and liked them but thought the red sauce the tortillas were dipped in was too sweet and the potato has a mildly odd texture. Also, everyone got kind of wildly different amounts of brisket. I got the spinach tamale which was also more than it's name suggests. A spinach tamale but not with a dense blob of spinach inside, instead it was mixed through out, with a pork guisada on top. Pretty good, the tamale could have been a little more moist and the pork "stew" could have had more sauce but the pork was tender and had a nice spiciness. Something a little different, for sure, with not just your standard tex-mex options. read more

Love Casa Mama! Awesome margs, great food & amazing service! My favorite is the brisket tacos!

This was really good Tex-mex!! My husband and I loved the nachos and the happy hour margaritas were wonderful!! The top shelf margarita is awesome!! I found my new hang out!! read more

Awesome food! Their chips and salsa always tastes so fresh and their entrees are great too. I've tried a few different things and everything has been tasty. Their coconut flan is an amazing dessert option too. read more

In my opinion most Mexican and tex-mex in the area is unbelievable bad. You're better off going to a taqueria. However, this place is great. Get the spicy salsa and the spinach tamales topped with pork guiso. They also have a large selection of omelette-type brunch entrees. read more

Fantastic food! Very friendly and clean and the wait staff is very courteous and friendly! Will come again!

Good food, bad customer service. We really like casa mama, but if there is any crowd at all this place falls apart and can't coordinate for groups. We came in on a Friday, expecting a wait, but they wouldn't give a wait time and kept sitting groups at tables in such a way that they could not be combined for our group. Only when we left did they make an effort and promise a table "in a few minutes." The margaritas at the bar while we waiting were even subpar. Hopefully they will try a bit harder and start caring for customers again soon. read more

Awesome food and hospitality!!! Perfect neighborhood restaurant and I'm glad it's close to my neighborhood. Highly recommend the salmon tacos and white queso. The margaritas are yummy as well! read more

One of our favorite places to eat!! Great food & service every time. We eat here about once a week :) And they have brunch too.

Stumbled on this little place while waiting for some work to be done to our car across the street. I wasn't sure what to expect; it's in a grocery store strip center and it's a bit of a hole in the wall. VERY pleasantly surprised by the quality of their food. Honestly everything that we had was delicious. Their salsa and guacamole were great. The service was quick and effective although not over the top friendly. They got our order just right. I haven't had a guiso quite like theirs, it was fantastic with serrano chilies. We didn't try their margaritas but I wish we had! Definitely going back next time we are in the area. read more

Love this place! Have an Avion margarita and the shrimp fajitas! The food is all excellent!

Our family lives near by and we love, love, love this place. I've been told the Margarita's are great and the brisket tacos are awesome. Just thinking about them makes my mouth water. Wonderful friendly service too! You have got to try this place. As for the guy from California, you can't compare Texas "tex-mex" to California. The food is completely different. They also have wonderful Mexican Rice, the kind they make it South Texas. Anyway, I highly recommend this place. read more

Casa Mama has become our family favorite. Very nice people and I have tried almost every dish there now and I have not been disappointed once. Great drinks, and very reasonable prices too !!! read more

We like this place. Good and creative dishes along with traditional Mexican dishes. Pretty good service, but not great. The bar could be better too. read more

Really good options here! It's Tex Mex but you find several unique plates you won't get elsewhere. Queso is AMAZING and the chips and salsa are also good. They have a full bar and the drinks were on point. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely return to try the rest of the menu! read more

Unbeknownst to us, we walked in just a few minutes (about 15) before closing. The guy who sat us was very pleasant, but our waiter- "Xavi", I guess it was- was not. He immediately informed us they were closing soon with a scowl on his face and proceeded to serve us with an attitude. I was in food service for years and you NEVER tell a customer you're fixing to close, you just serve them with a smile on your face and act like they're the best customer of your day! The Mgr was very friendly and brought us drinks at one point. The food was ok. I thought I had ordered one thing and got something else. The "something else" was also like $3+ more! They said "brisket enchiladas", but the brisket meat was on top and had some kind of mashed potatoes on the inside? Weird. Was not a fan. I told him so and he offered to get the Mgr, but I didn't persist on him doing so since they were already closing, I didn't want to add to an already bad experience. I generally judge a Mexican restaurant by salsa and service- obviously this one was already at strike one, the salsa was a no for me, too, unfortunately. Not sure why, really, just didn't do it for me. I was really bummed because a friend had recommended this place as her favorite, but was just a big NO for me! The 2 stars is for the Mgr and the super nice chips & salsa guy. Outdoor patio was very nice to sit at. read more

After months of eyeing this new restaurant that replaced several pizza joints that closed, we finally tried it. We can highly recommend this place for the food and service. The fajitas were great. The chips and salsa fantastic. And my salad topped with tilapia was awesome. We are going back with friends tomorrow! read more

Had the fish taco for lunch. Nice sized portion. Perfectly done with a nice sweet sauce served on the side. Service was attentive and friendly. Chips and salsa are distinctively delicious. Will try to make it for happy hour one of these days. read more

This is my new favorite mexican place in the East Plano area. We go here when we don't want to drive all the way over to Los Cucos. They have a very unique flavor. Their sauces are great. The white queso is fantastic and you must get the burger. You just can't beat a good burger cooked on a mexican restaurant grill. They have a beautiful patio that will be great with the right weather. read more

Wow, this place is awesome. Great Mexican, great drinks. Reasonnably priced. Try it you won' regret it. The staff are awesome.

Casa Mama continues to be one of the best Mexican Food Restaurants in the DFW area. They have now been open for 2 years (hard to believe) and the food and atmosphere just keeps getting better and better. When you go you have to try their Brisket Enchilada plate...with the mashed potatos in the tortillas and then the tendor roast on top...one of the most unique and best dishes I have ever eaten. Also another unique dish is their Lasagna...again, the best. If you have not tried Casa Mama you have to go...if you have tried it before go back as you will be glad you did. read more
