Ok, so the decor is a bit 1980's but actually so is most of Venice. It's a lot of blown glass…read morewhich comes off a lot like Designing Women vibes. But.., the staff is professional and kind. They really go out of their way to say hello. The bed linens are gorgeous and Italian and so fresh and so clean. The towels are really nice and embossed with their logo. I prefer the fluffy kind, but they are still really nice. But there are a bunch of odd buttons that could have been updated years ago. For instance there are no USB charging plugs and there are no adapters in the room. Also there is no shampoo, conditioner, lotion or tissue in the room. Is that a prerequisite for a star or something? There's a speaker on the wall that started static-ing while I was trying to sleep. It took me forever to figure out that the light above the TV only went off when you pushed the desk in. And there is this crazy ass tulip looking thing in the bathroom that in the 80s might have been a cool focus lamp for tweezing my whiskers, but now is just in my way. Also the shower is hella dangerous. It's no surprise that it has a bunch of holes to take a Jacuzzi bath, which is the grossest thing in the world to do in a hotel but, I digress.... I didn't love the breakfast, maybe because some people have no idea how to politely use a Buffet. You don't pick up the food with your hands or scrape food off of a serving spoon with your thumb. But that's the tourists' fault for being tacky, not the hotel. I love the location. It's away from the hubbub, but close enough to get to everything you want to see.

Always willing to help give you directions and find exactly what you are looking for. They helped us to arrange last minute transportation to Ravenna aswell! Really loved this place and the rooftop views are incredible!

It was quite a trek up three flights of stairs and twisting through a winding hotel but it was fun every time. We had a beautiful view of the Venitian rooftops. We had a sink in our room but the bathroom with the shower was in the hallway, which didn't bother us at all. There was a nice courtyard downstairs, which was pretty much the only spot you could use the free wifi. Plus, this hotel was in a great location and easy to find our way back to. I can't wait to come back to Venice. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We had booked the hotel for the 15th of February but our reservations were sent to the hotel for the night of the 14th. My friend phoned Expedia and the hotel a few times to straighten out this mix up but was disconnected. On the fourth try she was able to reach the hotel. On the phone they said that they could not change the reservation and we had to book it again, for the next night, at a much steeper price than we originally paid. Needless to say we were not very happy about that, as we are students studying abroad so we had a budget to stick to. The hotel then told my friend that we could use the 70€ from the previous nights booking towards the room for the 15th, the night we actually booked the room for. After having a hard time finding the street the hotel was on (our map said the street did not even exist!!?) we were beyond relieved to have finally found the place. Upon checking in, we were told at the front desk that we in fact, could not use the 70€ towards our room, but had to pay the full 120€ and we could use the 70€ towards dinner in the hotel. We did not want to eat dinner in the hotel. The 3 of us went to Venice with the intentions of exploring the streets, Carnivale and the local restaurants! Alas, we just say okay after trying a few times to correct the problem. Our room was not ready at 1300 so the man at the desk asked us to come back around 1500/1600. We left our bags and did just that. We left and talked about how cute the hotel was, and how it looks nice and has an old time feel to it. We soon relinquished those thoughts after entering the room. The one toilet on or floor was out of service and the shower looked moldy. Our room had one queen bed and one single bed in it. We found quite a few small dark pieces of hair in the queen, and a long dark hair in the twin bed, and on the blanket. The twin bed was heavily leaning. There was a break in the frame that looked as though it had been soldered together, but somehow it was still very slanted. In addition to the broken toilet, bed and hair, we found some change on the floor that led us to believe the room was not really, or thoroughly cleaned. My friend went to go talk to The manager and let him know we did not want to stay there for the night. The hotel insisted on asking us to leave the room for 5-10 minutes while they cleaned the space. We politely declined that offer as we felt it was not right for the room to be in this condition in the first place, and it needed more than just a 5-10 minute clean up. In the end, based on my experience, the hotel is at a 2.5 but I gave them a 3 because their were polite when we said we did not and were not going to stay for the night. They eventually gave us our 120€ back for the night and we left.

"No, I just could not find this place on my map." Soon after I heard people talking and dogs barking. I walked towards them. One of the men (the hostel manager) asked me, "Are you Irene?" Finally, I reached the hostel! He kept asking me this, "Come! Make a photo of the big dog and the small dog." He has a cute white Chow Chow. The sign in front of the hostel was very small. The address shown on www.booking.com website was not accurate. The hostel looks like someone's 3 bedroom flat. The reception area is very small. There is a kitchen and a bathroom. The kitchen and bathroom were clean, though not up to my standards. There were 3 single beds and luggage lockers in my room. The room was warm, duvets were provided. No breakfasts provided. The kitchen has no microwave oven. I had to use the radiator to warm up my overnight pizza! I saw Raphael's cherubs painting on the kitchen wall, near the stairs to the upper floor. I once lost a similar painting of these cherubs and had been looking for this painting all these years. I was eclectic to see these 2 cherubs again. The cherubs gazed in wistful contemplation. We all should... I paid €24 per night for the stay. Please note that guests will have to pay for additional city tax €3 per day, bedsheets and towel €5 per stay per person, total of €11.
