We ordered the picada, fried red snapper, plátano maduro con queso, and the mango and mora juices, everything was absolutely delicious. Carlos, our server, was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. We'll definitely be back!

It has a super homey, welcoming vibe. Here is the breakdown of what we ordered: Bistec with Chorizo: The serving size was huge! Definitely big enough for two light eaters. It was really tasty overall, though I do wish the beef had been a bit more tender. Beef Empanadas: Hands down, some of the better ones I've ever had. The skin was thin and perfectly crispy, and the filling was packed with flavor. Pair them with their chili oil sauce... yumm! To top it off, our waitress was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. I'll definitely be returning to try some new dishes next time!

Loved these empanadas. This was my first place to eat in San Jose being there recently on a work…read moretrip. I had the chicken empanada combo with a little salad, and a guanabana juice. Loved everything and loved how recharged I felt after my flight. I immediately made plans to come back here before leaving town to bring empanadas to enjoy with my husband. I stopped here again on my way to the airport, got 6 empanadas to go and told the ladies I was flying with them, they were so sweet and wrote what empanada was in the paper bags for each so I could identify them easily. They also wrote heating instructions for me, and went as far as packing them nicely in plastic wrap, and they made it home safe. I had saved space in my carry-on backback to make sure I had space for these, it paid off. My favorite empanadas were the beef, chicken and the ham and cheese (omg what cheese was that?! So yummy!!!), I took some other flavors, we loved them all but honestly when I go back these are the repeats for me. The size of the large empanadas is very generous, and the protein with potato empanadas are worth the try and even though they are smaller, they are still super worth it. Loved it all

I ordered the chicken potato, beef and spinach to satisfy my savory needs, as well as the choco flan and guava cheese for my sweet taste buds. All of the savory items were delicious but the winner here is definitely the beef. There was something about my first bite where everything just melted in my mouth that made me go, "Woah! This is good." The beef was perfectly juicy and the green sauce they packed to go was the cherry on top. If I could dip the entire empanada in that sauce I would. The staff also gives you the option to have your items heated up, but I'd only recommend doing that if you plan to eat it there and not to go due to the trapped heat steaming up the box and potentially making your other goodies soggy. The guava cheese pastry had a good amount of guava filling and the choco flan was basically a chocolate cake bottom layer with the flan molded on top. If I were coming here for the first time, skip the choco flan and stick to the savory items with an extra side of that green sauce. There's also seating right outside the shop for a convenient outing with friends and family. Parking was also decent so you'd have no issues finding a spot near the entrance!

The service provided by María José was truly exceptional from start to finish; gracious, attentive, and genuinely human in a way that lingers long after you leave. The atmosphere wrapped around you effortlessly; a cozy, inviting space where every detail feels intentional, guiding you back to your roots. The café con leche... simply perfect; like it was made by your grandmother, rich with comfort and memory. The agua de panela, beautifully balanced, set the tone with its subtle sweetness. Then came the highlight: a sizzling churrasco, aromatic and full of flavor, served with perfectly cooked rice and golden sweet plantains that taste like home. To finish, a selection of traditional cookies from the shop; the classic puntico Rojo; adding the perfect touch of sweetness and nostalgia. What a blessing it was to return to La Bendición. Because truly, we are blessed; those of us who get to experience the richness of Colombian cuisine in every bite.
