Service was friendly and the overall atmosphere was enjoyable. I'd definitely come back and would recommend the Steak Lomo Saltado if it's your first time here. Ask for the spicy sauce! It's...spicy

Unfortunately, my first visit only reinforced those concerns. I ordered the Tallarín Verde con Bisteck, listed on the physical menu as an 8 oz. New York grilled steak served with creamy pesto pasta. My girlfriend's steak was perfectly acceptable, while mine was composed largely of fat and was, for the most part, inedible. I asked whether the steak portion could simply be replaced. I was told it would take approximately 15 minutes, by which point the pasta would have been cold. I was then informed that I would need to purchase an entirely new entrée. The fact that I had touched the food was also raised, even though cutting into the steak was the only way to determine the extent of the issue. My girlfriend is Peruvian, and I chose this restaurant in the hope of surprising her with a well regarded local Peruvian dining experience. Instead, the quality of the steak and the manner in which the situation was handled made the experience feel markedly less refined and professional than expected. I left my phone number and requested that the owner contact me, as I am still giving the business an opportunity to address the matter directly. A sincere apology and a reasonable resolution would have been enough to preserve the relationship. As it stands, however, Emelina's #2 lost what could have been a loyal, long term customer.

What can I say other than "I'll definitely be back"... well I can say a little bit more. During my…read morevisit, I picked two food trucks to try and this was one of them as I wanted to try some Colombian food. Needless to say, absolutely loved it. First the food, did I know what I was ordering or eating... a little bit, like an arepa yeah, but not the one I ordered. The Arepa Bakania'o was massive and dare I say worth an entire meal for some. Filled with multiple meats, avocado, a plantain etc. I don't know the specifics all the much but what I can tell you is that it is hefty, hearty, and down right delicious. Would definitely get again. Does it come with sauce... I don't know, but I got 3 sauces that either go with this or with the other thing I ordered, the Maduro Bakano. The Maduro Bakano also had a variety of meats, sauces, more plantain and other stuff. Again, don't know the specifics but really good. This one is more plantain heavy so a little sweeter than the arepa. Does it come with sauce, again, I don't know but it already has sauces with it so I wouldn't assume so. I wanted to try it as it sounded intriguing and different and it was a really good pick. Staff is super nice. One of them didn't speak English while the other did and he personally came out the truck to ask if I had any questions and if I had my order. He also apologized for a little longer wait as the plantain took longer to cook. Super friendly overall. There's some seating like all the other food trucks around. I got it to-go. Overall, a very delicious surprise that I would definitely get again. Go try them out!

I was just picking some dishes from the various food trucks in the area and was persuaded to try this place. Absolutely incredible and I didn't even know what I was eating. The owner (I believe) gave me a run down of what the most popular dishes were and it was the garanches and the Mixto Shuco. The best way to describe Garanches is like a Vietnamese Banh Khot. If you don't know what that is, think crispy bottom appetizer with a meat/filling paired with sauce/cold topping. Perfect combo of the garanches and pickled vegetables. I would say the hot sauce would've gone great with it, but man oh man, that green hot sauce packed too big a punch for me. The Mixto Shuco is like a big sandwich with various meats (chicken, chicken sausage, pork, and beef?) I'm not too sure but it was great with all the sauces on it. Very hearty sandwich. Owner was super nice and explained the dishes well. The food truck is in the plaza with like 4-5 other trucks. There's some seating available if you want to eat there. Overall, this place is incredible and a great place to try Guatemalan food. I'm glad I stumbled upon it. I will be back. Go check them out!

So happy to see more Colombian restaurants popping up, now in the Santa Clara area! Qué chévere!…read more This spot still serves some Mexican dishes, but now they're also adding Colombian food to the menu, which makes me very happy. I've been here three times already, and honestly, I'm impressed with the quality of the food every single time. First visit: We came for the daily special, which is only $15 USD, a great deal for everything that's included! It came with a soup and a main dish. That day, it was pollo sudado (stewed chicken) served with rice, yucca fries, spaghetti with chicken, and avocado (yes, in Colombia we love carbs!). I believe they offer this deal Monday through Friday. Second visit: I had the arepas, and they were so good! They have different fillings, I went for the Mixta, which comes with everything. Super flavorful, highly recommended! Third visit (this weekend): I came with friends and we ordered a bunch of things to share. We started with the Arepitas de la Casa, deep-fried, slightly sweet arepitas filled with lots of cheese. Delicious and comforting. Then we tried the Patacón, which used sweet plantain as the base and was topped with shredded chicken, beef, chicharrón (pork belly), chorizo, and corn. So good! We also got the Picada, which included llanera-style grilled steak and pork (both super tender), plus potatoes, sweet plantains, and yucca fries. And to top it off, it came with a warm bowl of sancocho, one of Colombia's most traditional soups. Every time I've sat outdoors, and I think the vibe is really nice, a little windy, but perfect for summer days. Service has been great every time, very welcoming, attentive, and friendly. I'm really happy to support this place and can't wait to keep coming back.

This place is only a few minutes away, right on the Alameda near SCU. I'd been to this location in a few previous incarnations, maybe a bbq joint and Mexican place? It had been a while. We were pleased that this place was open and also that the menu looked interesting. We both ordered the Columbian Lunch special which I guess can differ daily. You start with a big bowl of soup, which was full of vegetables, noodles, and big pieces of chicken. Plus we got a beverage that was a lime-based juice with brown sugar. It was very refreshing. The main plate had a large piece of chicken pounded flat, with a delicious seasoning, plus beans, rice, and a small salad. It was a really large amount of food for about $16! We ate outside in front, they had a lot of seating both inside and outside, plus second floor seating. It does seem like it would be fun to hang out with cocktails as well. The service was fast and friendly.

The menu is diverse and features many traditional Colombian delights. I tried the Llanero Combo, which included a comforting bowl of beef rib broth with potatoes; delicate, rich, and very pleasing to the palate. I paired it with Colombian coffee, the kind grandma used to make, and a refreshing lulo juice. The main dish was a generous combination of pork, beef, potatoes, yuca, and sweet fried plantains, served with ají and guacamole. Everything was delicious and well prepared.
