Prior to that, I have called the resort and asked if we can do early checkin and they agreed to that. When we arrived, the checkin process was easy and the receptionist helped us bring our luggage to our room. I enjoyed our room and the view was amazing even though we didn't purchase the room with the better view. I enjoyed the breakfast. The server will come to you and ask if you want any coffee or tea. The breakfast is the same daily with some slight changes. I didn't mind that because I loved it! I wish that they offered a lunch or dinner buffet option. We ended up doing room service for dinner and it was quite pricey. We did enjoy the burgers that we order. I also like how the room cleaners would clean the rooms and refill the fridge everyday. The mini bar is free and they offer soda, water, and ice tea. We enjoyed the view and everything. I just think that the people who took photos for the resort or at the resort made it look better than what I experienced. I did really enjoy it, but it looked more amazing in pictures.

When we arrived, we were greeted by Frederick, who showed us to our rooms and gave us some recommendations for things to do over the weekend. Our room was fabulous-- we stayed in one of the panoramic view rooms. I will say that we spent very little time in our room as there were so many neat spaces to enjoy in the hotel. We spent quite a bit of time in the spa and in the pool, and if you are visiting, these are both a must-do while staying at the hotel. It was surprisingly quiet during our trip-- there were times when the pool was a busier but it was still enjoyable. Given the picturesque landscape, we were delighted not to be surrounded by people getting in the pool just to take "influencer" photos. The food was incredible. We dined in the restaurant on our first night which is when the black angus entrecôte and accompanying hollandaise stole our hearts. So much so that we cancelled our dinner reservations out in town for the second night to try other things on the menu. The ribs, the ribeye, the Aranchini, the mac, babaghanoush, the broccolini, the cheesecake... it was all so delicious. Straightforward flavors, fantastic food. Service provided by Vincenzo and Patrick was also wonderful. You can get a good drink anywhere, but it takes a special kind of hospitality to turn a drink into an experience. Bartender (and in our opinion, genius mixologist) of the Axe Bar, Phillip, made us a variety of experimental cocktails based on our tastes and it was an epic time. We came for one drink and ended up staying for quite a few. We truly enjoyed chatting with him, as well as the other bartenders Miguel and Kevin. My husband and I are the kind of people who usually end a trip early, because we'd always prefer to be home. This place made us wish we could stay another night, or even two. Good people, great food, fantastic drinks, and amazing views.

The check in and check out procedure is so personal. They sit you down and treat you as one on one. Unlike anything I have ever experienced. Upon checkout, they give you a small parting gift too. The dinner was fantastic albeit small portions but 8 courses! The cheese bar is out of this world with 20-30 different cheeses. You can also get cheese to go if you want. As much as you want. They have a neat little cigar bar with Cubans of course. The breakfast buffet in the morning was fantastic with plenty to eat. Oddly, we never got to the spa or pools but we did check them out. Next time... If there is a next time.

The town of Lenk is very small but oh so beautiful! Very fortunate the weather was clear and warm compared to the rest of my rainy and grey trip. It is a journey to get to the resort. I was coming from Salzburg which was about an 8hr journey. If you're coming from Zurich it's about 2.5 hrs and if you're coming from Bern it's about 1.5hrs, all by train. Long story short, since I was coming from Salzburg the journey took longer than expected and we didn't check in till about 21.30. We were so tired and hungry when checking in they could sense how exhausted we looked and they called the restaurant to see if they would stay open for us and they said yes! We immediately went to eat and the servers never rushed us and they treated us so well. I was very grateful they stayed open late for us. Tips/Comments: The website, at least for me, was very difficult to get information on what was included in my booking. Friends were the ones who told me about this place and I just mimicked the same packaged they got. So when we arrived I felt like such a cheapo asking if this and that was included b/c i just didn't know. So with the gourmet package dinner AND breakfast is included. Couldn't find a place on site to eat lunch except for in the Sauna they have this vegan broth that provided some substance. Also the contents in your mini fridge are included as well (thank god!). It was the first and only part of our trip where we had free water. Speaking of which, note that most of Europe's drinking water comes from Switzerland so drinking the water from tap is completely ok, even at the airport. When you're at the fancy dinner you can ask for free tap water as well. You also get a city card that lasts the duration of your stay. Highly recommend taking the lifts up to the top (about a 20minute ride) and the views are worth it. If you ever wonder why the town seems empty or quite it's because everyone is on that mountain hiking down. And let's not forget the sulphur pools and sauna. The pool is wonderful and just note that the Sauna's are nude. I get nude is totally an ok thing for Europeans but I'm sorry, my American-ness just couldn't strip down. They do provide a thin towel that I wore to cover up while i was in the sauna, just don't expect anyone else to do the same. Also, don't talk in the saunas. You will get scolded. Last but not least, if you decide to go into town and eat food off site its is VERY expensive. My lunch of a soup, salad, and coke was 38 swiss franks. 0_0

We were seated in a beautifully decorated which was completely silent. There wasn't any friendly chatter with the servers. It was a very " serious" , without joy experience. I was served a tuna dish that didn't have any flavor. I pointed it out to the server and he said, "I understand" and nothing was done. I would not go back, there are too many other exceptional options.

While the hotel itself is undeniably beautiful, our experience unfortunately did not match the…read moresurroundings, nor did it align with the overwhelmingly positive reviews we had read on Google and TripAdvisor. Our dining experience in particular fell significantly short of expectations--especially considering the three Michelin star rating. I have dined at many Michelin-starred restaurants, including many with three stars, and unfortunately, this was well below even one-star standards in terms of both cuisine and service. For context, in the week prior to our visit, we dined at two different two-Michelin-starred restaurants, both of which provided far superior culinary experiences. Below is a summary of the issues we encountered: * Wine pairing: Poorly matched and inadequately explained. The sommelier's descriptions were difficult to hear, and the selections seemed obscure and mismatched to the dishes (e.g., a Nebbiolo-style red with fish). The pairing did not represent good value and gave the impression of cost-cutting rather than quality. * Lack of flexibility: We were told the wine pairing could not be removed from the package despite my partner being unwell and not wanting to drink alcohol. This was a disappointing and rigid approach in the circumstances. * Menu inflexibility: Requests for alternative dishes, despite the kitchen clearly having the necessary ingredients (e.g. beef rather than lamb), were declined without explanation. * Dismissive communication: Staff made confusing remarks, such as referencing an inability to send frogs' legs to our room--despite no such request ever having being made. * Basic service failures: Salt and pepper were repeatedly removed from our table, requiring us to request them multiple times. Staff also made multiple attempts to clear unfinished wine glasses. * Unacknowledged departure: My partner left mid-meal due to illness and dissatisfaction. It would have been appropriate and appreciated had some gesture at least been made in respect of this. * When I asked for one more of the small Petit fours croissants a few minutes after they were brought out, I was told the kitchen was closed. These are clearly pre-prepared items, so this response felt unnecessarily inflexible. I also pointed out that my partner's petit fours (included in her dinnner) had not been served, but was again told the kitchen was closed, with no further explanation provided or resolution offered. Altogether, the experience felt frustrating and at times petty. This was surprising and disappointing given the cost. For €2,500 for dinner and overnight accommodation, we expected a refined and memorable experience. Unfortunately, this was not delivered. The service was inflexible, inattentive, and lacking in the generosity and professionalism one expects at a three Michelin star venue. The hotel side of our stay was somewhat better. Overall staff were professional and helpful, although at 1,500 euros per night, one would expect that. However, there were concerning lapses. There appeared to be no "Do Not Disturb" sign in the room, and as a result, a cleaner entered without knocking while my partner was still asleep. Even if it was close to check-out time, we had not yet left, and this lack of basic courtesy and privacy was unacceptable. It is not appropriate to walk in without knocking. We could easily have been in a private or vulnerable situation.
