We stayed here for two nights (only). And we enjoyed so much: It's calm, but you can do so much at the surrounding. The owners helped us making plans to visit local restaurants and see several wonderful places. In the evening we enjoyed a very delicious dinner at the hotel, made of local and seasonal products. My wife is from Nax and we anxiously awaited the opening of the Maya Guesthouse. When it first opened, the owners generously showed my wife and mother-in-law the guest rooms. We've gone to the restaurant a couple of times this winter. The Maya Guesthouse is brand new and absolutely lovely. Its a green establishment, with power generated from the heat from a pizza oven in the restaurant as well as from solar panels. The restaurant is intimate and with an elegant, chalet feel. The owners are friendly and easily engage in conversation with patrons. Nax is a little over 2 hours, by car, from Geneva. It sits in mountains to the south of Sion, the capital of the Valais Canton. Its an absolutely beautiful part of the world and incredibly relaxing. Both Nax and the Maya Guesthouse are well worth the trip. read more

This is probably one of the top boutique hotels in Switzerland. They boast about their amazing sustainable building and their amazing amenities. It is all true. If you are looking for that get away or that special honeymoon away from the crowd, you will find it here at this amazing in Bed and Breakfast! The staff are more than friendly, inviting, enjoyable and simply delightful. Did I mention the breakfast!? Wow. That was just a gorgeous spread for breakfast. If you are lucky, you can get the view of the hills on one of the window seating available. Brunch by the way is included. The bathroom was gorgeous and the bed was so comfortable. There are not very many channels on the television, but with what outside looks like, I would be disappointed if you were to be inside watching television. There was so much thought and effort put into every detail of this hotel. They have beautiful hanging flowers outside of your balcony in the summer. There is even a couple of very comfortable wicker chairs that you can relax on if it is warm enough out. They have a stove that heats up the main reception home where you will likely have your brunch. Anyone on the staff is willing to tell you about the sustainable business and help you with any questions you may have. There are many hiking possibilities as well as some old historical points of interest that are fun to walk to and there is a ski area near by in the winter. There are services that can be purchased at a cost, like massages or nails. We were even given a free ride in the electric vehicle that the hotel owns. I would highly recommend staying here to get away from the crowds but also to wonder around as it is very safe. They have a small church, a grocery store and a cafe. There are a couple of restaurants. The cafe treats are delicious! I hope to come back here some day! read more
