I hope I can bring my husband here someday. As a special mother/daughter trip, we stayed two nights in Zermatt so my Mom could cross the Matterhorn off her bucket list. It is beautifully located in the small village at the base of the mountain in the Swiss Alps. Not every room has a view of the famous peak, so if that is important, you may need to ask in advance. But most rooms have a balcony or outdoor area, which is great for sitting outside and enjoying the sheep bleating on the mountainside or watching the many waterfalls. The hotel itself is very modern and has surprisingly good wifi service and cable TV for kicking back in your room. It is also located perfectly within the village town. There is a bakery next door that has decent coffee and pastries, a COOP across the street or up a few blocks if you want to get some fresh fruit or goodies for your room. It is also within walking distance to at least two apothekes, one McDonald's, and several restaurants and shopping locations. The staff is very friendly and responsive. It is well worth the trek to stay at the Ambassador. read more
