Relaxing in the spa after a long day of skiing.

Large and centrally located hotel with several restaurants and lots of amenities. The Restaurant has a solid Swiss breakfast with lots of local meats, yoghurts, meats, cheese, fruit, etc. There are several other restaurants on the property, but the only other one I can speak to is the Grill (see my review for more on that). This is definitely one of the nicest hotels in Zermatt. Our room was a 2-bedroom suite located in the Residences section of the hotel, which felt a bit dated but similar to most ski resorts I've stayed in. The rooms got very hot at night and we needed to keep the windows open. The hotel is very big - too big in my opinion - so it certainly doesn't have a boutiquey feel. The biggest issue was how spread out everything was - it was like a maze trying to find our way around. That being said, the hotel staff was very helpful, from Boris the concierge helping us make reservations prior to our arrival, to securing lift tickets in advance and helping arrange guides at the last minute, to literally carrying our skis around for us. There is a ski room located downstairs, which conveniently provides lockers to store skis and ski equipment. The spa is fantastic and has a beautiful pool and indoor/outdoor hot tub that is delightful when it's snowing. My deep tissue massage was one of the best I've ever had. The joint sauna and steam room areas are fully nude and coed, despite having separate sections for women and nudity. When in Switzerland, do as the Swiss do I guess! I would stay here again and look forward to returning!

This is a must stay location in Zermatt. The hotel is beautiful on the inside and out. Staff is warm and welcoming. The outside patio feature live music in late afternoon to pass the afternoon time.

I am not sure how this place has the reviews it does. Terrible service and for the price, honestly…read moreit is not worth staying here. The workers were rude and not respectful of us at all. For a $500 hotel you expect much more. The room was small and the air conditioning didn't work. The front desk blamed us and said it "isn't what you are used to in the United States". It wouldn't even turn on... I got a massage at the spa and it was the worst massage I have ever had. She was not an experienced therapist and didn't give me an even massage (missing an arm completely). We voiced this to the manager, who seems to be the owners son, and he tried to intimate us by getting in our face and telling us she has 40 years of experience and that she has given "royalty" massages. There was no way this is true. He was just a rude man with an ego issue. It was a terrible experience and I urge you to consider staying somewhere else that will treat you right.

The ambiance from the moment you step in the door is special. Our room was completely decked out in a wood and chalet style decor. They thought of everything here. Beyond amazing and I would love to have stayed longer than two nights. The owner is kind and personable and both restaurants are excellent and noteworthy in that they use their own farm for many of the dishes served. The price is more than reasonable. America, take notice that you don't have to charge an arm and a leg to have a wonderful experience. Transportation to the hotel from the train station in Zermatt is provided. Call ahead.

Warm wood tones intermixed with natural stone, LED lit frosted glass edge hallways, glass elevators and stairs accented with glass, comfortable common spaces with charming fireplaces, and thanks to being perched atop a rocky outcrop, amazing views overlooking the town stretching up to the Matterhorn. Service begins at the time of booking. Confirmation emails asking of special request, restaurant reservations at its Michelin one star eatery, and scheduling transportation to the property (Zermatt is a car free zone - only electric taxis are allowed). On arrival, the hotel's private taxi retrieves you. All luggage is handled leaving you to check in and enjoy a welcome drink. In the room, bottled water, welcome fruit and sweets plus a decanter of bourbon await. (You're here to relax right? What's a few drinks). The rooms themselves are large, very well designed incorporating the natural beauty outside while inside, filled with warm wood surfaces and lighting. Excellent finishes and impeccably clean. --Linens and robes - extremely plush. --Shampoo, body wash, lotions - Aesop. --Bed and bedding - extremely comfortable pillows but very firm mattresses. --Power - Easily accessible throughout the room. Other amenities include: -- Michelin one star restaurant (The Restaurant at the Omnia) on the property. -- Turn down service with Swiss chocolates -- High speed WiFi -- Buffet breakfast (included) -- Transport to and from the station. Outstanding service throughout. Very fluent English spoken. Rates will vary by the season but are very reasonable all things considered (A stay at a Four Seasons in the States will cost you double for less service and charm). Tip: Book direct for the best availability and rates (in CHF) provided your credit card has no international transaction fee else opt for an online booking site. Highly recommended.
