Such an awesome place! First time coming here and our overall experience was so lovely! The restaurant is beautiful, pretty spacious dining area and they have a nice bar area with seating. Service was great- the guys treated us so great for our first time. Food and drinks were excellent! We ordered the pitcher of Margarita and it was such a great value. The food was delicious too. My babies loved the quesadilla and chicken tenders. Will def come back for more !

I found this restaurant to fall flat on so many levels. I ordered a fajita. Even at the chains, it comes on a sizzling platter with crisp browned vegetables. What I got was like beef stew on a skillet. It was not browned and fried. The vegetables were ALL soft and mushy like they were boiled. It was blatantly obvious they precook it all, keep it in a pot then toss it on the skillet to warm it up. Such a lazy short cut way to do it. It also tasted terrible. It had an off old tinny taste which may have been from the boiled mushrooms. It was literally inedible. I returned it. They tried again. The second was less wet. But still the same insipid ingredients. The rice on the side was meh. The refried beans were literally like water although they tasted fine. The chips are lower quality mass produced ones. Salsa was good. There are SO many options for Mexican all over. As I said, even the chains are better. Don't waste your money here.

This place had a lot of seating and staff was awesome and attentive. All our food was delicious. We got a pitcher of lime margaritas. Which was delicious. Fried ice cream came flaming and we left happy and full. Can't wait to come back.

Food was very good, and there were no issues with special requests. The service was also very fast compared to other sit-down restaurants in the area. The ambiance was also very calm, with a traditional look.

My daughter and I enjoyed our meal very much. We both had the chicken quesadillas. They came with a very tasty Spanish rice and refried beans. Of course there was chips and salsa and of course we ate them all and enjoyed them

This place is good but it could be really good. The food is ok but the building itself is beautiful. It used to be the Paris Inn. Drinks were also ok but they have a pre mix in some that isn't good and ordering is a little confusing with options and different servers/bartenders. They have a lot of different people making drinks which ends up being a bad thing when they all don't make them the same. Will be back for sure. They just need to tighten some stuff up.

Pros -vibe -staff was friendly -food came out hot -parking is non valet and a good amount of spaces -vegetation options -good amount of tables/ seats at bar. I will return.

This is a great local spot. They totaled redid the interior and the motif is awesome. The staff is always very pleasant and accommodating. All the dishes and drinks we've tried were great as well. Great place for Mexican food.

I was in the mood for Mexican, and my friend and I decided to get some. When I arrived I parked in the private lot. I walked in, and the restaurant was cute. We sat at the bar, and Freddie was our bartender. I started with the red sangria, and it was super tasty. I then had the pollo tapatio for my meal and it was very good. I had to remove all the cheese, though. My friend enjoyed the flautas. The food and drinks were good and I had a good experience.

This was a last minute stop as the original place slotted to go to had a long wait. It is quite a huge restaurant depicted by an orange and white building. When you walk in there is ample seating and authentic decor. My friend and I sat at the bar and ordered. I had the chicken flautas and my friend had a chicken dish that can't recall the name of. The flautas were ok. Tasty enough. My friend liked her dish but it came with way too much cheese for her liking. I've been on the hunt for authentic, delicious Mexican food. I wouldn't say im a huge fan of Mexican but I do like to try different foods. I rate this restaurant a 3 because service could've been a bit better and the food (although okay) could have been a bit tastier.

Consistently good Mexican food in my experience. As a birria taco lover this place has always been spot on with that for me.

We usually come when the owner is present, and the experience is always fantastic. Unfortunately, our visit this past Tuesday (which honestly should be Taco Tuesday) missed the mark. Our waitress was new and struggled to explain several menu items, which led to some confusion. We ordered tacos, queso with beans, nachos, and chips with guacamole. The order came out incorrect, and the queso was a major disappointment--it arrived as a bowl of grease, completely separated and inedible. The tacos were very small, light on filling, and lacked the bold seasoning and heartiness we've come to expect here. Honestly, it wasn't the usual Guacamole quality. What made it more frustrating was that the wait staff didn't seem very helpful in correcting the issues or explaining what went wrong. While we noticed the owner wasn't in that day and chalk some of this up to her absence, a restaurant still needs to run smoothly when the owner takes time off--burnout is real, and strong staff support is key. We truly don't want to hurt this business. We drive a distance to come here and still consider it one of our favorite spots. That said, $90 for two meals, one appetizer, and a side of queso and beans, with this experience, felt disappointing. I'm leaving four stars because we know how great Guacamole can be, even though this visit was closer to a two-star experience. I hope management sees this as constructive feedback and uses it to help train newer staff--this place is too good not to get back to its usual standard.

My husband put our name in for a party of four and gave his phone number for the text notification but the hostess accidentally entered us as a party of two. Thankfully, the table that was ready was large enough for four but it could have caused an issue. As a note, she remembered and realized she mistyped it and apologized immediately. Our waiter was friendly, though the service had a few hiccups. My chicken quesadilla (which I ordered as my entrée) came out well before everyone else's meals. When boxing leftovers, he asked whether I wanted the sides, sour cream, and salsa included. I said no, but when I opened the container the next day, everything had been packed together anyway. Food: The chicken quesadilla was delicious and generously filled with shredded chicken. Drinks: The frozen strawberry margarita was excellent. It was filled to the brim and stronger than what you typically get at a restaurant. Overall, I'm chalking the service issues up to it being a busy Saturday night. We'd still happily return to Jose Tejas whenever we're in the area.
