    Prego - so good
    Christine S.

Food was outstanding. Service is a bit lacking but the food makes up for it. That's why I give them a 5.

Excellent food and nice outside seating area in the back. We got the Monchique and Milano steaks - would recommend both. And a number of appetizers as well which also were good. Only knock is service, one waiter was quality but the others weren't really paying much attention

Slightly hidden in the streets of Lagos, Casa do Prego is an absolute gem of a lunch or dinner spot. Tapas, sandwiches and mains (not to mention 7 euro pitchers of beer.) I tried the traditional Portuguese beef sandwich which featured thinly sliced extremely flavourful cuts of beef, complete with local cheese, garlic butter, and an egg. The rustic fries were seasoned nicely and a side of peri peri oil upon request completed the meal. Friends got the chicken and veggie pregos which were both delicious as well. The atmosphere was beautiful with a brick patio and tasteful Brazilian/portuguese tracks playing. Service was excellent and food came quick. Can't rave enough about this spot. Will be back.

Great find in Lagos! And it ain't easy to find!! But you'll be happy you made it to Casa do Prego, so set your GPS and make your way to this eatery that is up the stairs of a doorway that only has a menu to designate there is a restaurant at the top. Apparently it gets crazy during the season, so expect a wait, but there is a spot to enjoy wine and cocktails while you wait. Service is excellent. Friendly, patient and welcoming. Food we had was delicious and cooked to our specific temps. Great peri-peri beef starter (a bit small IMO but delicious. And HOT!! Tuna Prego was great, as was tuna steak platter. Also did a cheesecake that was perfect tiny size!! Very limited but good wines and beer and full bar (limited spirits) offered. Great option!!

Loved this place. The steak was the best I've ever had and the staff was soooo nice. 10/10. Went in February 2024.

My sister and I were able to go to Casa do Prego at the recommendation of out hotel. It was described to us as where all the young "hype" people go now in Lagos. So glad we took the advice because it led to an evening of good food and overall fun dining experience. When we arrive you can definitiy feel the buzz of the restaurant from the street. We had to wait about 15 to mins for a table to ready but that was ok because the manager kept checking on us, offered us a menu and also a drink while we waited. We wanted a pitcher of Sangria so we opted to just wait until we were sitting down. They sat us on the cute patio with plenty of open space you don't feel crowded. Now on to the best part...THE FOOD. For starters we had the salad with roasted veggies on top. The amount of flavors that came from just a salad was mind blowing and probably one of the best things we had our entire trip. We also had the buttered prawns that were delicious as well. For the main course my sister had the Grilled Chicken Breast (Samui) and I had the Black Pork (Evero). Both were well seasoned and delightful to the taste buds. The whole place was definitely a vibe and I will go back if I ever find myself in Lagos again!

This restaurant is easy to miss just walking down the street in Lagos! However, once you enter and go up the stairs, you're greeted with a beautiful interior and outdoor patio in the back, perfect for dining as a couple or with a larger group. Our waiter was very friendly and instantly made us feel at home. We split some tapas (seared tuna and piri piri prawns) and a sandwich (O Prego!) for the table and were very impressed. Everything tasted very fresh and high quality, and it was definitely one of the best meals we had during our time in Lagos. My favorite in particular was the O Prego sandwich. We ordered it with an egg inside (which is slightly more traditional) and the saltiness paired with the soft, yet crispy garlic-y bread was superb. I also loved the fries that came with it -- they were a very unique cut that were also perfectly crispy and crunchy. Overall, I think this is a great spot to check out right in the downtown area of Lagos.

Nice restaurant in the center of old town Lagos. We got here a little after opening and there was a line. There aren't that many tables on the first floor. There is a top floor but it was only allowed for drinks and pregos. We decided to stay in line so we could order off the main menu. The owner was nice in accommodating our party of 4 and we only waited 10-15 minutes. We ordered the popular green sangria which was very different. The drink was sweet and refreshing. We also ordered some tapas that were recommended like the shrimp. The tapas came out fast and were a good portion for everyone. We also ordered three main entrees. The seared tuna was good and big. The steaks were also both very good and cooked well. The pepper sauce steak was more juicy and flavorful. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Lagos. However, I would recommend coming right when the restaurant opens to avoid waiting in line.

Very delicious food in a nice atmosphere. Our first meal in Portugal. So glad I made this reservation. The restaurant is hidden away from the main street. Therefore, you need to walk through the side streets to find it. The food is absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was yummy! Service was fantastic and I think out of our entire trip throughout the country, Casa do Prego was my favorite restaurant. Prices were very reasonable too!

We stumbled upon this place when we were looking for a brunch place, and we were glad we did. Amazing little place with very tasty food and a relaxing atmosphere. Green sangria was perfect for the summer weather. Service was very good and very friendly. Add this place to your Lagos list.

So happy we walked into Casa do Prego for lunch since we were looking for tapas or something light to eat while vacationing in Lagos. Our server was wonderful and attentive and the ambiance felt laidback. One of the best lunches we had in Portugal. Thank you!

This is the best beef sandwich and chips!

My children got the house style spaghetti which was a cream sauce with tomatoes and ham. Neither kid could get enough! The pasta was soooo tasty. My husband and I shared the Mixed Catalana for 2 - prawns and clams. It was the best meal we had during our almost 2 week trip to Portugal. The broth was so delicious I could've drank it with my spoon. It was loaded with veggies too. Came with white rice on the side and some fried potatoes. Also my husband got a glass of house red wine which was a very generous pour! They only take cash, which we did not know ahead of time. But luckily there's an ATM across the street. They turned tons of people away while we were eating. I guess their system is reservation only from 5:30-7:30pm and then after 7:30pm they allow walks in on a first come, first serve basis.
