I had never heard of this place until my coworkers mentioned it. So one day I decided to join them. The establishment is a pretty good sized restaurant. Apparently on Fridays and the weekend, there is karaoke and dancing!! I ordered the enchilada plate. It came with two chicken enchiladas, rice, beans and a salad. They served a pretty big sized portion, so I was unable to finish my entire plate. The plate was delicious and I would definitely order it again, if I were to go back. I also ordered a Chavela, of course without the shrimp. Apparently this place is known for their Chavelas! They were good and live up to the countless thumbs up reviews. My only two issues were that I paid about $20 for my meal and drink. I felt that was a little too excessive. Service was a little slow but it was busy for the time of day we went. Overall, it was an okay experience. read more

My teenage daughter and her friends from high school ordered enchiladas today. The enchiladas smelled sour. They let the cook know and they were told by the cook "we make them to order". They asked for new food but were refused. As a result they missed lunch. The meat was probably old. Disappointed!! read more

This quaint little restaurant was very inviting, even for 10:30 in the morning. I was greeted and sat immediately and only needed 2 minutes to decide that I wanted a torta when I saw they had Jarritos. I got a torta de jamón which came with French fries. The bread was very fresh and soft, but the toasted outside with mayonnaise was warm and crispy. It was filled with enough ham to warrant a to-go box, but it didn't make it home as I ate the rest in the car. read more

Wack ass food! Service was terrible. Very loud music and couldn't hear the waitress. Had to flag here down every time because she was not tentative at all. Chips were staled. Drinks were wrong. I should have listened to my gut feeling when it was empty on a Friday night. I got one word if you're thinking of going there. TERRIBLE!!!! read more

Their micheladas are really good! I ordered mariscada and a burrito for a get together and it was a bit on the salty side, overall ok.

I'm from out of the area and Service sucks and food isn't that good. Probably the taco stand outside is better.

Very disappointed, this location dropped his flavor as in the past couple years, they incremented prices liked crazy, very simple presentation, the worst customer service, our waitress with a rude attitude, grumpy face and she never come to check if need something after we received our food, and the cherry on the cake and be aware, they already included their tips in your bill. Never will back again to this place. read more

Went to this place after a ball game nearby. Service was bad. We had to keep repeating ourselves. And the food, I don't know how to explain it, but everything tasted bad, tasted dirty. Chorizo and eggs, no seasoning and the rice and beans were really gross. read more

Amazing place! I ordered chicken flautas. One of the best Mexican food places I've been too. Not too busy. This is a hidden Salinas gem.

Food is rancid. Chicken is cold, and the raw chicken is next to the cooked chicken. Beans were rancid. Rice reheated. The man handles the food without washing his hands. The restaurant will be reported to California department of public health. read more

This place was not that good, maybe they are better at seafood dishes... We ordered typical fares like burrito and wet burrito, enchilada, crispy tacos... the spices were very bland (ie, enchilada sauce and wet burrito sauce) Not impressed with usually "no fail" dishes. The real worst was that the cheese used was not authentic and was typical cheddar stuff (not bad if the prices relate to ok ingredients..) So the cheese was low grade...and quite frankly, it had a funny taste to it and both me and my people's stomach felt kinda unsettled afterwards. The prices were not proportionate to the quality either. read more

Went here in a Friday evening. Music was so loud that I couldn't converse with my family at the table. The waitress had a flat affect and was sluggish. She did not greet us and we had to call her many times to order. One of us went to the counter to ask for napkins. At the end I went to pay for the bill. I show the lady a 10% coupon I had for using Yelp to check in. Three of them did not acknowledge the coupon and acted as if they've never seen it before. This coupon was not used because the restaurant refused to honor it per "the owner." The lady didn't say a word when I showed it to her. She immediately called the owner on her cell phone to ask about this coupon and her response was that "the owner was not going to honor Yelp coupons." I give the food a 5 out of 10. The Mariscos was too salty and for this reason I couldn't finish it. No refills were offered and none of the waitress came to check if we needed anything. Our meals came sporadically and not together. I will not be returning to this restaurant. read more

Horrible service and rules. We decided to have our Taco Tuesday at Mariscos Casa de Pollo. We walked in and they said that they stop serving $1 Tacos at 6 pm. It was 5pm when we got there. Then they said they had no Pastor. Ok fine. Then they asked for here or to go. We said for here and that there would be alot of people coming in through out the night. She then proceeds to say that if it s a Large party, it will be regular price tacos then told us to sit down. People walked in and sat and they served them first. 20 minutes later she comes back and says it will be a little bit cause she has to serve the other people first. I Said NO.... We were here first. Well your party isnt all here. I had already told her that they would be coming and going and we were ready to order. With attitude she says, well what do u guys want. We were about to order then she went on with it gonna be regular price not $1 Tacos By now I'm pissed. She had such a Bad attitude. So fyi, waitress is unprofessional the way she handles her customers. They lost a Minimum of $800 in Alcohol and food sales. The only reason I'm putting a 1 star is cause i have to put something. By the way, there was 3 other people complaining about different things with her. read more

Came in on a Sunday afternoon with my parents, ordered camarones a la Diabla. The salsa that's given with chips is more spicy than the diabla sauce. When we were served, the diabla sauce ended up completely coating the beans so I was stuck with this weird, bean/diabla soup mixture next to my rice. The sauce tasted kind of stale so the only edible thing here was the rice on my plate. The shrimps were extremely chewy and tasted like rubber. I could grab a flat tire off the side of the road and get the same experience, THATS how bad it is. I don't recommend. read more

First trip here for my Mom and me. Wide selection of dishes. We like to try the meats when we try out a new place. We ordered tacos. There are two kinds, the ones stuffed with everything, and the little mini ones with meat, cilantro, and grilled onions. We got the mini ones with cheese with all the meat choices. The The chips are bland. The salsas are hot. The pico de gallo is very good, fresh. The meats were all well done, which I prefer. Chorizo was our favorite. We went in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't very busy, but there was a steady stream of take out. The service was good. The place was clean, tables were cleared right away. This is in my Mom's neighborhood, so we will come back and do take out too. They currently have a special on the mini tacos. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, they are only $1 each. read more

The food was somewhat ok, the server was horrible, I ordered super fries like the menu stated rudely she said they are called asada fries, as we are ordering she walks away and tells a server something, comes back and says I'm sorry you can continue now, another waiter helped her deliver our plates she was a doll, for a first timer to Casa Del Pollo #2 I wasn't impressed by her attitude she after I paid my tab was amazing guess she wanted a tip, here's a tip to the owner if you ever read these reviews talk to your waiter which she didn't even give her name but has grinch green highlights to be friendlier. read more

This place only got 3 stars because of its crappy service. When we got there all the servers were attending other people. The main cashier, was just doing a lot of sorting out. No greeting, we were just getting ignored. The few tables that there were were piled up with dishes. No servers in sight to clean them. The people that were sitting on a table, left because they were waiting there for a long time. We got seated at that table and someone asked who seated us so they could take out order. We had to tell them that we got told by the lady at the front to sit there since that table was ready. A server came and took our order and then she said "I hope it's okay that you wait because they are taking a long time" no apologies, no "thank you for your service" We ordered horchata and turns out they had run out, we got different drinks. 1 out of the 4 plates came out, then the second 5 minutes after. We waited 15 more minutes for the 3rd and 4th. Overall the service was shit. It was embarrassing seeing people leave the restaurant because they were not being served. If you while it's busy then you're just going to get ignored. Food was okay read more

The asada fries are the staff is very polite and helpful. If you order by phone it's always done fast.

Great place to come eat with your family and also have a few beers but WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO DANCE!!!!! Which I believe should be against the law. Yes I believe in small businesses keeping family oriented restaurants but I do not believe it should be banned! This will definitely lose us as customer even as we spent well over $500 tonight on dinner and beer for the whole family.. we enjoy Karaoke nights here but this will definitely be the last. To whoever the business owner is suggest changing house rules. read more

I hate to have to give bad reviews but it must be done. I was at this place last night and was really looking forward to enjoying my food and drink and my night in general. I ordered a michelada and when I was almost done with it there was 3 bottle caps with foil at the bottom of my mug. Super grose! I also ordered the ceviche carretero which is what i used to like from this place, it was been a very good while since I had not been there and this time around it didnt taste close to what I remember it. My experience overall was not good, I woke up sick this morning, terrible stomach ache and diarrhea. Definitely not goung back to this place. I hate to give this place a bad score.. because the The food is good, but the place needs a lot of maintenance and friendlier staff. The music was too loud and so was the TV. When I placed my order all the tables were dirty and the lady didn't bother to clean them. They brought my brother his food 20+ minutes before ours (aguachiles) instead of all of them at once. And once we got our food, they didn't bother to come and check on our table to see if we were doing okay. read more

I went today with a party of 3. The service was very slow. We were not served chips and salsa until I asked for some about 30 minutes later. I asked for horchata and I had to send it back. It had no flavor and the waitress said they had just changed the container. We ordered chicken and were served about 50 minutes after arriving. The waitress never checked on us. I had to go and ask for silverware. The chicken was good and so was the rice but not the service. I probably will not go back. read more

The person who helped me didn't seem to speak English. Thus I was a misfit at the place trying to order a Burrito with seafood or fish with my little Spanish knowledge. The Burrito was excellent and if in the area I consider going back just for that. read more

If i could give it none i would. The establishment itself does not look like a family restaurant. It has gross carpet, akward seating, and really dark inside. It took the waitress like 10 minutes to greet us and bring us our menus. I ordered chicken because given the name i thought i would be good. Well i was wrong. The chicken was hard and taste like oil. My son said it was gross and we know chicken. We come from a family background of chicken restaurants. I paid 30$ for a 1 1/2 chicken, which is a good price but horrible for the meatless bones we got. I ended up throwing it away. The rice was super salty and the beans were so plain. Don't come here for chicken. read more

Food great. Order a plate of enchiladas with cheese but while I was enjoying my plate I noticed a guys hair on my plate which of course I said something to the waiter which I expected to get a new plate with out getting charged again. Waited for about 10mins to get my plate again until I was pretty annoyed and just asked to go and get the check. Once I receive the check they were charging for both plates which upset me and went to complain which they didn't do much about it so I had asked to cancel my plates instead. Very upset that probably I won't even show up ever again. read more

So to begin, I had to put 1 star but if I could it would definitely be 0 stars!!! The service here absolutely sucks, the one who took our order looks like she's working for free. She has her device with her to take our order.... but listen to this, she forgot HALF OUR ORDER.. She brought our tortillas to eat with our chicken once we finished our chicken, and i also ordered tacos but everyone else had finished eating by the time i got them. False Advertising as well, the tacos i ordered i was expecting to look all pretty and full like in the picture on THEIR MENU.... It's just plain meat nothing else... what the hell??? who even... I was constipated, until i ate the crappy unfulfilling food... I'm sitting on the toilet as type this :( 10/10 don't recommend! Spend your money somewhere worth it. read more
