I saw the restaurant had 4.5 stars and had high hopes, but leave disappointed. I Debated between 3 and 4 stars for the rating. The hostess deserves 5 stars. The food was decently fresh. But everything was just so damn spicy. The rolled / deep fried tacos were interesting and worth a try. And - there's minimal option to eat in the area - so this may be your best bet. read more

What is there to say. Maybe the best Mexican food we have ever had. We ordered from our rv. And they were soooo courteous. They brought the food out. Eat their burritos with red or green. Perfect balance to their sauce. Wow. Not to be missed. We have been to Mexico and we love Tex mex. This was better. read more

I am sorry this business has poor food. Years ago it was amazing. Now, if you go it's just to see the sweet girls that work there. They are very nice and nice to talk to. The pork chops used to be amazing and the calabacitas delicious. The beans taste burnt and the rice is hard. The family no longer seems to run the business. It was a go to but no longer. Stay home and cook! read more

It might be the best restaurant in Alamogordo, NM. But, that doesn't mean much ;)))) However, the food is good. With the exception that the beef was over cooked. read more

Let me start by saying that I fully understand the difficulties small businesses are going through (particularly restaurants with all the opening, closings, restrictions, employment issues). With that being said, we had a terrible experience trying to eat here (that wasn't related to the challenges restaurants are facing). We stopped by after a long day at work for a nice sit down meal. Upon arrival we read the sign posted about being patient with them , as they are short staffed. Fully understanding this and wanting to support them, we patiently waited about 5 minutes before even being greeted. We were asked to sign in and she'd be with us shortly. She filled a call in order and we waited, she checked out 3 customers and we waited, she did a few more call in orders and chatted with one call in order customer for over 5 minutes as we waited. She then, for the first time since our arrival said I'll go clean you a table and we waited (not annoyed or frustrated at this point, as we could see she was busy.) Then a family walks in 15 minutes after we did.. we see her write their names on the list that she ask us to sign in on. She then disappeared to hopefully clean us table and then returned to bypass us to let the family she signed in sit at the table she said she was going to clean for us. Again, I totally understand the struggles of small businesses. But being totally ignored and bypassed for "regulars, friends, family" ... or whatever the case was was extremely rude. A nice "I haven't forgotten about you, it will be about 15 minutes, etc would have gone a long way in my books. I wish this business nothing but the best of success and an only writing this review, as I would want to know if this were to happen to one of my customers. read more

We stumbled upon Casa de Sueños on our way to White Sands Monument from Ruidozo. What a pleasant surprise! The service was five stars... We were served by at least 3 waiters. Everyone was very friendly. The food was excellent. I had a cup of chicken pasole, which I recommend to everyone, and the bbq pork chops. If you love Mexican food with a touch of love, this is the place to come. My only regret is that this place is not closer to where I live, because I would visit frequently. read more

Always a favorite!! We recently celebrated Mother's Day there and we were so pleased that we could make mid-day reservations to accommodate our aging mama. Red sauces are traditional New Mexico hot and flavorful, green is rich and tasty. Order yours "Christmas" to easily sample both. Also love the attached shop with wonderful treasures - art, jewelry and great leather work. read more

After looking at all the high reviews we were excited to try this spot. Not something we are likely to recommend to others. We had the chicken chimichanga and the chicken nachos. The chicken had a weird flavor. It tasted like a rotisserie chicken reheated or something weird. The decor was lovey though. The bathrooms were clean. read more

This little spot is delicious! A causal spot that is good for family and friends. A little ways out if you're coming from Alamogordo or Holloman AFB but well worth the trip. We took our family here last Saturday and it was busy but not packed so we figured we were in for some good food. It turned out it was exactly that! I had the Aztec Pork-chops which came recommended from our waitress and they were amazing! Two huge bone in pork-chops marinated in their red chili recipe with some fresh veggies and fried potatoes covered in cheese . I planned on saving some for left overs but ended up devouring the entire meal. For desert they gave us sopapillas and honey. I didn't try any of my family's food but we all left full and satisfied. We definitely will be back. read more

When in Tularosa, this is the place to go. Great atmosphere; we sat in the back area that is the former patio, and it was lovely. Friendly service, great tasting food! We had a variety for our party of four on a Tuesday night: fajitas, chimichanga, pork chops and enchiladas. Everyone was very happy with their food. The chef, Matt, came out to chat with us as the evening was winding down. He is very friendly and was interested in hearing how we enjoyed our meals. Highly recommend. read more

Gross. Terrible. 2 hours to be sat and served with one other table in the whole restaurant. Service was terrible. Constantly having to ask multiple times for things like register, napkins, chips, salsa. Didn't bring our cheesedip until after the meal. Cheesedip tasted like it came out of a can. Found three hairs in three different food dishes. Server constantly made us feel like we were being an inconvenience for asking for napkins, water, more salsa. She never once brought us an item without being asked. Nachos were soggy like they'd been sitting for a half hour before they were brought to us. Terrible experience, terrible food, terrible service. The gift shop is cute and the art is really nice. So since I'm not allowed to give no stars, that's what the one star is for I suppose. read more

On our way south and we was looking for somewhere to stop and stumbled across Casa De Suenos..... A Mexican restaurant that serves primarily Mexican but also serves a few other items on their menu such as burgers, steak, and seafood. They also serve a variety of beer and wine and they have just the right desserts after you have finished eating your food. It may be hard to eat a dessert but you can do it. The food there is very good and is well worth the wait even though there is not much of a wait at all.... The food is very well priced and is anywhere from $8 all the way up to $20, but the average and most of the items are around $10. The atmosphere is positive and the building gives you a feel for a Mexican restaurant and is very well maintained. The food will fill you up and is very good, definitely will be stopping if I pass through..... read more

Visiting from out of town, We came in to eat out of recommendations from family. We were sat right away but sat for 10 minutes while 3 waitresses passed our table without one stopping to get a drink order. A large party of 5 then was sat next to us and the waitress immediately went to their table and took their drink order. We waiting 5 more minutes and still no one approached our table. We got up and left and took our business to another local restaurant. read more

Great place. Only reason for the star deduction is I drove out from Alamo one time only to discover a private party closed the entire restaurant. However, I love their salsas and I'm usually pretty fond of their chimichanga plate. Servers extremely friendly! read more

Food is delicious, authentic, and wide ranging! Wait staff was extremely friendly, courteous, and prompt. We tried chimichangas, enchiladas, and tamales. Red Chile was spicy, green was mild. Sopapilllas were too "well done" for my taste but at 25 cents each, I'm not complaining! This is a Tularosa diamond in the rough! read more

For those of you who don't speak Spanish, the name translates as "House Of The Best Meal I Ate On My Road Trip." How appropriate! Spiciness is subjective and all, but to help I'm the type of guy who typically orders "Thai Hot" at places and still doesn't find it that hot. And that said, the green salsa here had my tongue on fire, and honestly with the taste of it I wasn't sure I wanted to put it out. I've never felt that way about chips & salsa before. Christmas enchiladas followed up, and Santa obviously read my list. Then, after all of this, the question: "would you like sopaipillas?" More than anything on this earth. All served in a beautiful back room with a setting sun highlighting the colored curtains of the dining room. Less a dinner than a mythical experience. Seriously, everything about my time here was perfect. I went to Chope's in La Mesa the following night, and L&J in El Paso the day after that, and those places are supposed to also be perfect, but truthfully I couldn't get excited with them. But I think that's less a concern about their quality and more a comment on just how fantastic Casa De Suenos is. Have I convinced you yet? read more

FINALLY! Hubby and I moved to Alamogordo from Dallas Tx, and have been searching for the best Tex- Mex restaurant. We have finally found it! As if weary travelers in a strange land...this place was an oasis to us lol. Also the green salsa is the bomb! Everything we are here was superb. :-) read more

We decided to take a day trip to Cloudcroft today. We always wanted to try Casa de Suenos sometime, so since we had the time and it wasn't too far out of the way, today was the day we checked it out. The restaurant is a very charming Mexican eatery. Our service was just fine, and the chips and salsa were very good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had a stuffed sopapilla, with ground beef, green chile, and extra chopped onions. It was delicious. The accompanying pinto beans and rice were good also. Would definitely return. read more

I LOVE Green Enchiladas. Casa de Suenos promoted their green enchiladas so I was hooked. They came and I was less than impressed. They were in very small particles, no larger chunks of chicken, the taste was overall HOT My wife had Chili rejillanos and said they were good but VERY HOT. OVERALL, I probably would not go back. The server was very friendly and attentive. read more

I grew up in New Mexico and love hot Mexican food. I have also prepared Mexican dishes in my own kitchen so I know what NM Mexican food is supposed to taste like. This place nails it! The service was fast and friendly. The prices are right. The menu is unique and complete. They also start you off with red and green salsa both are excellent and have the right heat. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Thank you Yelp for helping us find this place! We stopped for lunch on our way to White Sands based upon other reviews. We ordered the nachos and fried avocado slices. Very nice service, well decorated and nice restaurant. But the food is not what we were expecting. It's very much Americanised, not an authentic Mexican taste. Portions are great. 3 star because, it should not be 4.5 star as a Mexican restaurant. read more

Casa De Suenos is the gem of Tularosa! We spent our day skiing up in Ruidoso, NM and we had worked up quite an appetite throughout the day. Yelp suggested Casa De Suenos in Tularosa during the drive home. What a choice! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with Moon/Sun light fixtures, art and it even has a cute little gift shop in the front corner of the restaurant. We ordered some gifts for our relatives in the shop at the front of the store. I would highly recommend trying the stuffed sopapillas. Make sure to get both green and red chile on top. One is spicy and the other is a bit sweeter. Remember this is New Mexico style food! Be prepared for some differences! Grab a margarita while you relax here. They are wine based and come in many colorful flavors. read more

This is our usual lunch/dinner spot when we're in the area. Nicely located between Cloudcroft and Ruidoso. Great service, tasty food, what's not to like? Our most recent visit was this past weekend. you know what was cool about this place? 1. it was clean 2. it had a nice atmosphere 3. the waitress was charming 4. we had two different types of salsa both of which were tasty 5. there was a vegetarian section on the menu 6. my husband kept looking at me and saying 'DUDE!' throughout the meal... 7. the ingredients were incredibly fresh and distinguishable 8. I've never had a bad meal here. It is by far the best restaurant in the Alamogordo area (which is not saying much). When I am in town this is my goto. Highly recommended! read more

Unfortunately, I have only been there once. I say that because the food was pretty tasty and we want to go back. After a disasterous first attempt to visit (we missed the entrance, tried taking a dirt trail and got the car stuck, only to find they were closed due to a private party), we went back. Food was real good. My family and I are mexican food fans, so we kind of have high expectations when we visit places. This was no exception. Was a little while ago, so I dont remember what I had ordered. The menu was decent, the beer was cold and I enjoyed what I ate (kids are picky and they liked it). Reccommend this to all. read more

Really great service. Nice, comfortable atmosphere. The food is top notch; spicy but not too overwhelming. The staff was super friendly, and the food came out quick, and really well prepared. I know this place is highly regarded, but my honest opinion is going to be to pass on it. I'll start with the good: the place has a great atmosphere, clean, cool decor and the staff is great. No issues there. My 2 Star feedback stems from the food. It's not bad, per se, but it's very forgettable. Nothing really stands out and I've done enchiladas, fajitas and quesadillas on different trips. The worst was the fajitas, which again while not terrible, I ordered chicken fajitas and got a skillet full of onions and peppers that I had to pick my way through to find the chicken, and even then it was barely enough to make 2 tortillas full. When I order chicken fajitas I hoped for a skillet with a bunch of chicken and a few onions and peppers here and there. read more

What a great stop after hanging out in the White Sands Desert and working up an appetite! Welcoming environment, prompt seating, and immediate appetizer service. The freshly made tortilla chips were accompanied by both red (spicy) and green (mild) salsas. Our party of five ordered all across the menu, beginning with cups of chicken pisole that was a hearty serving. That was filling in itself. Chicken avogado was delicious--flavor explosion! Others ordered enchiladas, tamales, chiles relleños and were not disappointed. Dinner ended with complementary sopapillos--good when eaten hot with the honey. read more
