We stayed in the private room w bathroom. Very friendly hosts. Extremely clean. Try "coffee therapy" restaurant for breakfast. Enjoyed our two nights here. The beach was empty. We enjoyed the board room for dinner. My husband and and I loved it. Cute porch area w the sound of ocean waves at night. Derek the host was very kind and had excellent recommendations! The boardroom for dinner w 2nd floor balcony was awesome. Thank you!!

Beautiful. Welcoming. Great design. Amazing location. I'm so glad we chose to stay here! This space has private rooms and shared dorms, all with memory foam mattresses and A/C! The view off of the porch/open kitchen is amazing! The beach is literally a stone's throw from where you will drink coffee every morning and beer every afternoon. The owners are very welcoming and incredibly helpful. Do not let the other buildings in the neighborhood deter you, this location is perfect, quiet, and close to many of the best activities the island has to offer! The design of this space is the perfect blend of Puerto Rican architecture and contemporary accents. The showers are the best on the island and every piece of the building has been carefully designed with both functionality and beauty in mind. Whether you want to surf, chill, party, explore, or all of the above, you will not be disappointed making this your jumping off point! Best value on the island!

This is a great location and well run place. It's near the beach and an estuary and a short walk from the center.

Had we needed to stay longer, the room would have had anything we needed. Hot water and awesome shower too. Great location for walking to dinner and breakfast. We had never been to Luquillo (or Puerto Rico), so we didn't know what to expect. We had been…read moreroad-tripping around the island for about 10 days and Luquillo was our final destination. At first glance, it didn't seem like much was going on in the area. We were a bit concerned. We were a few hours early before our scheduled arrival, but we decided to check out where the hotel was to get our bearings. While doing so, we ended up meeting Dylan the owner. Super nice, awesome guy. Originally from the mainland. He was kind enough to let us check in early because the room was available. This was unexpected and certainly welcomed! The room was GREAT. SUPER clean, SUPER modern. VERY nicely decorated. Lots of little touches to make it so welcoming: robes, beach towels, yoga mats, beach chairs. Dylan sure knows how to decorate. Good water pressure, nice hot water, beautiful tile work, comfy memory foam bed, great sheets and blankets. We stayed on the top floor. Directly outside was a community deck with lights, a couple picnic tables, and some hammock chairs. The ocean and beach is LITERALLY steps away. You can hear the waves. It is incredibly relaxing. We spent time on the beach, which was very quiet. It was just us, some surfers, and a little flock of pelicans that provided HOURS of entertainment. A few minutes walk in one direction (along the beach) is a laid back restaurant called Boardriders. They served up really good fish tacos (mahi) and churrasco sandwiches. You sit and have your meal right along the beach. It's super chill and awesome. About 500 feet away from the Surfing Turtle is a little breakfast and lunch walk-up place. Super cheap prices and great breakfast sandwiches. There's also a nice restaurant directly across the street. El Yunque is only about a 15 minute drive away (book reservations ahead of time bc of COVID!!!!). Big line of 50+ kioskos were also about 10 minutes drive away. Across the road (about 5 min drive) there is a KFC, McDonalds, Wendy's, Walgreens, and a grocery store called Amigo (not a Walmart, as Maps suggests). After some hesitation because of the few reviews of the Surfing Turtle, this stay ended up being our favorite out of a 10 day trip. The location right on the beach is perfect. The owner is so great. The rooms were so clean and modern. Has a hostel feel, not a chain all-inclusive. Mix of all ages staying there, mostly on the younger side, but we are in our 40s and didn't feel like we were the "old people" haha. Highly recommend if you are looking for a modern, chill place in Luquillo with a great, quiet beach right behind it. We definitely would stay here again.

It is very close to the airport and everything else in San Juan. If you plan to stay mostly in San Juan you could get away with just ubering but we did rent a car. There is not lot but we had no problem finding street parking for the week that we stayed. We stayed in the Muse room. To be honest, this was expensive and more than I would have liked to spend but the hotel was so good it was worth it. You are a block from the beach and they provide beach towels and chairs. We did two beach days near the hotel and it was honestly perfect. The beach is amazing, very blue even though it's in the city. I felt perfectly safe walking around this area. It is technically in a gated community so it is very nice. Right outside the gated area are a bunch of restaurants. The food at dreamcatcher was also very good. They provide free coffee every morning and then pay as you go food from 8am-1pm. Everything I ate was very delicious. The menu changes frequently so if you see something that sounds good, get it! My favorite thing was the tofu huevos rancheros. It was incredible. They serve a dinner on Friday nights that was $65pp but we skipped to try some other things. The courtyard is also very cute, great place to get pictures and sit back and relax. I can't wait to come back. Puerto Rico has my heart!

Do not stay here if you are vegan and unless you have read multiple reviews for a specific room…read more This place was made by an owner who wanted a certain aesthetic but didn't care about the well being of his guests. We stayed here and splurged for what supposed to have a private bath, but discovered that it was on the front porch without covering so anyone waiting at the entrance for an uber could see easily in. They had a couple curtains but none in front of it which meant people from street could see in. We complained and asked if they could either give us a partial refund or even just get some removable hooks from a hardware store and put a sheet so people couldn't say in and they said no the owner would not like the aesthetics and would not be available to approve it. After much pestering they did give us free breakfast/free tour but it was honestly very upsetting and distressing to have been waiting for this great special room and then realize we couldn't full use it. The other thing is they advertise as vegetarian, vegan friendly which was great because I prefer to eat vegan when possible. The first day they had a vegan oatmeal that was good but by the second day their vegan menu had literally nothing with protein and by the third and fourth day it just had toast with veggies, which is something I could have gotten at any restaurant or hotel. They are not in the middle of nowhere, there are stores nearby and the manager also drives to visit their other properties. It's not that hard to have tofu or peanut butter or can of lentils that don't expire for months and you can continuously replace. I was so excited to support a veg establishment and feel bad I have to give it this review, but I want to protect full vegans.

We ended up not arriving until about 9:30pm. Well as it turns out the island basically shuts down about that time, so we had no way to get to Flamenco Beach, where we intended to camp for the week. So at this point we were stranded. Luckily, a guy named Eric who worked at a dive shop in Fajardo gave us Tommy's number in case we needed a place to stay in Culebra. Tommy owns and runs the hostel. Tommy was very pleasant to deal with, and after I described the situation, he offered us a discount on a private room. The great news was that the hostel is just a 3-5 minute walk from the ferry, so we could make it without a cab. The hostel portion of Culebra International is a large dorm style room with bunk beds. There is also a community kitchen where you can keep drinks cold or cook. I took some pictures of the areas. They looked well taken care of and clean. My girlfriend and I stayed in one of the private rooms, which had a queen size bed as well as a bunk bed, and a private bathroom. The room was very clean, and has a window air conditioning unit that works quite well. We had planned to camp out all week at Flamenco Beach, but ended up coming back to stay the night before we left Culebra because it was nice to have the comforts of A/C and a bed, and be close to the ferry. Tommy was a great host. He was willing to give us a ride to Flamenco the next day, and to the airport (we decided to fly back to the big island instead of messing with the ferry) on our last day. We paid a small fee for the rides, so it was not unlike hiring a cab, but much more convenient as he was already there. I highly recommend renting a jeep (~$65/day) or golf car ($45/day) while you are in Culebra, as the island may be small but you definitely will want some transportation to go exploring. Tommy also offered complimentary coffee to me each morning, which was very nice. Other things to consider: - Culebra International is about 50 yards from the biggest grocery store on the island, and 15 yards from one of the two gas stations which also has a small convenience store. - The private rooms go for about $65-$75 depending on time of year. The cheapest room elsewhere in the off-season is $90+. - Tommy is from Louisiana originally, so no language barrier to deal with. - Tommy is happy to tell you about the island or where to go. He also offers laundry service and is a very enjoyable person to work with. If you have any other questions about Culebra, feel free to message me. I'm pretty sure I saw everything it has to offer during my week stay!

It is located (approx) at 17 45'00.30" N 64 36'26.29 W Our rental was arranged and handled entirely by Vacation St. Croix property management. I posted a review on that business as well, but the short of it is they are excellent. We paid a rate of $4714 for 10 nights. This price included the obligatory tax (10%) that the wise government of USVI has seen fit to hoist on all tourists. We are avid scuba divers, and we selected this house based on its location (15 minutes from Christensted and our dive shop, St Croix Ultimate Bluewater Adventures), its privacy from other villas, the pool, and its overall size. This villa did not disappoint in any of those categories and was EXACTLY as described on its website. No negative surprises. Privacy is an understatement-- you could walk around naked all day without any worries. Not saying we did. Just saying. The house was spotless when we arrived. We found everything working as expected, even the clothes washer and dryer. There were supplied rolls of paper towels, TP, dishwasher soap, and laundry soap. All towels were clean and ready for action. All light switches were labeled too, which was really nice. Finally, the owners have provided a comprehensive binder in the kitchen (next to a generous library of caribbean cookbooks and guides) that describe the house and local amenities, especially restaurant reviews from the owners themselves. Some welcome extras you might not be aware of: The bbq is a Weber with two supplied tanks of propane. It worked awesome and seared up steaks like a jet engine. There are 6 beach chairs for use at the local beaches (I recommend the ultra private Jack's Bay just a few minutes away). The outdoor shower off the master bedroom is bitchin. I didn't take a single shower inside my whole stay. The TV is set up on DISH network with basic channels, but nothing local or network (no American Idol for the girls this week). There's a decent selection of DVDs in the TV room too, but they are mostly depressing dramas and nothing goofy or funny (IMHO). Lots and lots of novels in here too, in case you forgot a good book. If you can't find a good novel in here, you're either too snooty or illiterate. The kitchen is FULLY equipped with everything you will need-- really, they've thought of everything. Two fridges, ice maker, large cooler, blender, coffee maker and grinder, sharp knives, Cuisinart pots/pans....everything! I am an amateur chef, and I was very happy here. Wi-Fi is adequate for text and low-bandwidth apps, but if more than one iPad fires up things get very slow, so be advised on that. You will not be streaming American Idol here, even if your wife demands it. This house is HUGE, and it's fantastic for two couples looking for their own privacy (our case), or large families with kids. In fact, if we ever return, we will bring the kids (8 and 6). The pool is safe enough and the house is great for the little ones. The only downer on this house is the wicked wind. In the master suite (northeast side), it gets pretty severe. Rain frequently accompanies the wind, and those windows need to be shut in a hurry. We jokingly wondered if hurricanes were arriving at 2 AM a few times as absolutely crazy wind and rain arrived without warning. Even with the minor negative on that wind, this is a phenomenal house for the price, and it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for your vacation needs. My only regret is that I don't own something like it myself. Rent this villa without any reservations: It's a bargain and a great time.

And it turned out to be a great idea. The location is perfect. On the outer edge of Old San Juan (OSJ) you are only minutes away from anything in the area but out of the huge tourist crush from the other end of town. When looking at a map of Old San Juan you will think it's bigger than it is. To walk from the Posada to El Morro on the opposite tip of OSJ might take 15-20 minutes at a leisurely pace. I booked the standard double bed private shared room. It cost me $58 per night because I had to pay for 2 people instead of just myself. The single supplement sucks, but it's still inexpensive. The room was clean, clean, clean. And the satellite TV and air conditioning worked. I had to share bathrooms but one was always available when I needed it and they were always relatively clean if not just clean. I appreciated that the other guests during my stay were not slobs. The women working the desk and the one man I saw regularly were always polite and friendly. No issues with service. I used the washer and dryer while I was there, but I got up early to do it so there was no wait. And they are both in good condition - either new or very well-kept. All in all, my four night stay cost me $252 which includes taxes and online processing fees. That amount would have gotten me one night at a resort or hotel. For the price and location, Posada San Francisco really can't be beat, and I would stay here again. Tip: Because I stayed on the 6th floor, I didn't interact much with the other guests. If you're on the 4th floor with the dorms, you'll meet more people. Tip 2: They rent bikes for cheap. Don't forget that. I did.

Bathrooms are not dorm style where multiple ppl are in them but single bathrooms where you close the door and lock behind you. One has a shower stall and the other an actual tub. I Never had to fight for the bathroom or wait. I saw a cleaning lady everyday and the bathrooms were clean but bring your own toiletries and even a hand towel to dry off.
